Good point - no idea what happened with their EFL trouble, but I remember the breached FFP didn't they. Villa are another example that spending millions and millions and millions doesn't get you far. They spent as much as Fulham did last year!
-
You have to wonder what will happen to Bournemouth after relegation? They have spent a fortune on players that has only been sustainable due to PL income. They've got guys like Solanke, Ibe - around £40m spent on those two, they can't even get in the side....how will they able to shift them?? Then you've got lower league football next year with reduced capacity and no PL income....they could be ruined. The buckets will be rattling again soon...

Their fans are having a meltdown at the moment! Giving Luiz a 1 year contract is nothing short of insanity. Giving Cedric a 4 year contract is also crazy, it shows they have no real long-term view on anything? Cedric on maybe 2 year max was acceptable, but 4 years...? He's thanking his lucky stars I'm sure! They are really regressing. Once they lose Ozil and Aubameyang, they've got nothing.
-
I dunno, looking at their fixtures, they have a chance... Burnley home, Norwich Away, Watford home, Villa home. They'll be struggling though, huge pressure on those key games. Bournemouth though.....I think they're finished. Bournemouth, Villa, Norwich for me.

Absolute desperation from a club who have no idea!
-
That goal was so perfect for this game! Really poor quality on show. West Ham have had 'chances', but they just seem to lack any real shape or pattern to their play. Think they're in real, real trouble this time. They don't seem to have anyone who can score goals.
-
Burnley might as well not have turned up. This league is full of so much utter trash.

I don't want it yet, it would be a disaster. We need to sort out our ownership first so that we have some money behind us. The money you get from the Europa League is miniscule, so for clubs like us it just hinders you in the league unless you have some real investment behind you. I think you knew all too well what I meant to be honest, but you're just being your usual pedantic self.

They don't have the squad capable of doing a great deal at the moment. Bunch of weak kids, poor losers and distracted players looking for their next big move. I think any manager would struggle at that joint, so much work is needed. It certainly wouldn't be embarrassing should we lose to them though. They're still on a different level to us, so any result will be a positive to me.
-
Wouldn't want us to. We're not anywhere near ready for that and don't have the money available to build the squad enough, so it would be a hugely damaging distraction next season. Top half would be as good as it gets for me, will probably just be short of that though.

We don't need any of Spurs cast offs thanks. Cash, or do one.

Nah, he needs to move on. Will be the source of some of our funds in the summer hopefully.

That was an enjoyable return! I wasn't really surprised by the first 10 mins, we just needed to feel our way into it - but the reality is that a better side would have done us there, so we need to start quicker. It's been a bit of a handicap of our season. After 10-15 mins though we pretty much got to grips with it, took control of the game and that was it. We didn't threaten much in the first half, but as long as we kept control of the game (which we had) and showed a bit more intent in the final third then we'd be sorted. We showed that intent in the 2nd half, slightly aided by the fact Norwich shrunk after the first goal. Overall an enjoyable return and any 'slight' nerves are now put to bed after just the first game back. Pressure is off now, so let's see how we do in the remaining.

Don't think that was ever announced, but maybe he is the 'mystery' name!

It can only really be a DNS problem - within 24 hrs this should be resolved for all I'd have thought. I use OpenDNS for my DNS and this site came live at around midday for me. Whereas via my work connection, it's still on the old server. Just depends what DNS is using! One of those things.

Norwich captain Grant Hanley is out of this one.

Yeah, weird article. Mane never played under Poch.

I'm asking questions - where was the PPE for these front line folk at the start? Without the controls put in place this would have been unmanageable, you cannot say it's an overreaction. This will be a struggle for a long time, no one is denying that, but it was either financial hardship or losing lots and lots of loved ones. I think I know what I'd have chosen out of those two. We'll get back to normal when it's safe to do so. Don't compare this to 'normal numbers of deaths' - because it isn't, it's been a huge spike and it would have been an even bigger spike had it not been for the interventions.

Eredivisie is going to be null and void. Dutch government have put a ban on all major sporting events until September, and the Dutch FA can now only really null the season. Be interesting to see how other governments follow over Europe and what their football associations do...

What if There is no Transfer Window This Year?
S-Clarke replied to SFC Forever's topic in The Saints
I agree that football is different now. I think a lot of people believed that the bubble would burst at some point, when you started seeing players moving for 190+m. I don't think this is how anyone saw the bubble bursting though. Financially, the effects of what's happened in the world over the last months are going to be prevalent in our society for a long, long time. Football clubs will be feeling the effect of this for a long, long time - all over the world. I think we'll see a normalization of transfer fees and wages, at least I hope so, because there is a lot of recovery to happen in every economy. -
It bugged the f**k out of me this morning. They asked the question - so who is leading at the moment? I thought Gove was pretty clear, Rabb is in charge...he is leading the cabinet. But they still managed to throw in the most insane questions - ''So who has control over the nuclear button? we need clarity''. I mean, WTF is wrong with the media. It's plainly obvious to anyone with a brain - Rabb is deputizing for Boris, decisions are made as a group (Cabinet) and Rabb has the overall say. They've said that so many times.
-
It doesn't feel that long ago, so much has happened and so much progress made. But it wouldn't take much to get back there tbf....one relegation with rubbish players on huge wages still on our books and an owner not interested would probably do it.

Nothing surprises me with that bloke, an utter, utter tosser. One of the cretins of society. All about money money to him, nothing else important.
-
Their official hosting company (fraser something i think?) is playing the line that they are essential because they stock fitness equipment and clothing, which is what all the population need in order to stay fit. So, basically, the cretins are trying to use this awful situation to maximize their profits. They've closed now due to the backlash, but they've been very reluctant too because they feel they offer 'essential services'. They don't. Mike Ashley should be ashamed.

It's been postponed now by the Olympic body, 2021. No idea why the hell it took so long really. Pretty obvious it couldn't happen.
