  1. Rejected. Game stays at the same time.
  2. Why are people portraying Watford as this big, bully boy, rough them up kind of team? They're anything but. They play great football, use the width of the pitch well and attack with purpose between the lines. They've got a focal point with Denney and a strong CB with Cathcart, but they're not this 'new Wimbledon' I've seen them referred to as.
  3. Don't really rate him, he's got good feet and can certainly play....but he's not very good at anything else. He doesn't have any sort of football brain. He'll probably become a very decent Championship player, but we can't retain players of his level if we wish to improve.
  4. Steve Walsh? the guy from Leicester? Yeah, he'd have had genuine input as well - probably more so. But it's hard to deny that this blokes hands have been all over one of the worst periods of recruitement in Evertons and Sunderlands historys.
  5. Austin has a niggle in his shoulder? Never!
  6. I agree, Everton have had a worse recruitment record than us recently. They spent insane levels of money on players who don't even get game time anymore, whilst we have done similar, it's not been to their level of outlay. They spent £30 on Sandro - failed. 25m on Morgan - failed. £20m on Theo - failed. Tuson - 25-30m - Failed. I mean, come on, if this bloke has been in charge of bringing in that lot, what on earth are we doing looking at him? Is he one of Ross's mates?
  7. Absolutley incredible game of football. That's what it's all about.
  8. The battle is between Brighton and Cardiff. We will get to 39 points by the end of the season at the very least, either before Huddersfield or against Huddersfield. 36 should be absolutley fine anyway. Not sure why people are panicking this morning. Brighton, fair enough, they have a reason to panic a little - but they've still got a game in hand and they are still above the water, so Cardiff still have a lot to do with a very, very limited team.
  9. Exactly the same that happened to Monaco a few years ago. God help any team who upsets the 'apple cart'. You have to wonder if it's worth it, just for a year or two of excitement.
  10. Brighton look ****ed. Really tough away game next at Wolves, and then away at Spurs. Cardiff look pretty **** too, but this was a big win. Keeps it going to the end between those two, quite exciting.
  11. I think it got off somewhat 'lightly'. Structure still, in the main, completely intact. A lot of the key monuments and tributes inside are being rescued and have been accounted for, the glass looks to have survived on both sides. No one inside or around was injured or hurt during the episode. Obviously the roof will need to be re-done and the spire will be rebuilt, but it could have been a lot worse. I think I've heard some rich French people are donating around 400m euro to a restoration fund. Hopefully they approach a new contractor and don't use the one who had been restoring the roof recently...
  12. Yeah, we weren't actually managed by Ronald that day either - he was still in hospital with his broken ankle (i think). So Ewin took control on the sidelines. It was 2-2, but we really should have won that. I remember Mane missing some absolute nightmare chances at the end.
  13. I can't believe people still take this guy seriously! Easily the worst WUM ever.
  14. No chance we'd be in with a shout on Timo. He will go to a top CL level club.
  15. Between 30-40m without much of an issue I'd have thought, that would be the going rate. As has been said, there is no sense with transfer fee's anymore. 30m would have given you a Rio or a Ronaldo back in the day, but 30m is now just an average/proven PL player price. If you want a player of the level of Rio or Rooney or Ronaldo these days, you're looking at nearing £200m. So in this day and age 30-40m is a snip.
  16. Watford looks excellent to be honest. Very dynamic in attack and through the middle.
  17. He spoke so much waffle, so I'm incredibly happy we no longer have to hear the phrases 'First team roster' 'Deep roster' 'Soccer' again. His phrases and what he said always annoyed me, he was nothing more than a public mouth piece and a PR puppet. Will be interesting to see what happens next and if there is a reshuffle or new appointments made. I'll be honest, the ownership situation is still one of real worry for me. I'm not comfortable with it at all.
  18. Redmond, most improved player. First half of the season he was our most impressive, in a shower of ****, and the 2nd half he's gone up another notch.
  19. We should just cut our losses to be honest, free transfer job. Mark it as a big red x on our history and move on. Diabolical player, absolutely horrific character. I don't want him anywhere near this squad in pre-season bringing the place down with his ****ness.
  20. He's an old school manager. Sticks 11 out on the pitch and pretty much leaves it up to them to sort it out amongst themselves. When you have good characters, it can work, but when you've got the likes of Cedric, Boufal and Hoedt moping around the place then it won't work.
  21. I dunno if he's worth persevering with to be honest. It's got a smell of Gaston all over it ''Give him a full pre-season'' ''Will be good to see what manger x can get out of him'' etc. Ralph has a good eye for players not up for it - Cedric, Hoedt, Gabbiadini, Lemina. Could get some decent ££ in the summer for him, maybe we should just take it.
  22. He's certainly no Eric Black.
  23. Is anyone surprised that the starter of this thread is saintlard though? Lost all meaning when he started it. I mean, he still thinks Adkins failed and was one of our worst ever managers.
  24. Just Brighton and Cardiff now, although it will be Cardiff. They don't have enough and never have.
  25. Nah, we'll probably finish somewhere between 14th-16th. Highest I think you'll see us is 14th.
