  1. Not if the club think he's been doing a good enough job behind the scenes. He hasn't just walked into this job by the way, I know first hand that he has been taking all of his coaching badges (succesfully) and is highly thought of at the club in that regard and has been in and around the first team for the last few months.
  2. I assume everyone on here is very much clued up on Kelvin as a coach and how good he is, seeing as we have tons of expert opinions on it. Is this another 'sack' thread? So, sack MP, Sack Kelvin, Sack Reed, Kruger, Gao....we won't have a club left if some of you lot had your way.
  3. Dawid Kownacki? Young polish striker playing for Sampdoria, highly rated by all accounts. Only 20.
  4. He is a rolls royce of a centre half, glides with the ball, brushes most players off with his strength and recovers if he needs to with his pace. There aren't many weaknesses to his game and he's just coming into his prime.
  5. I must admit, I'd love to hear from our new owners in some form. Everything is shrouded in a bit of mystery right now, it's fair enough saying they want to keep things going as they were, but if that's not going as well as it was....it would be nice to hear their idea's/plans. I'm probably not the only one who feels this - but I cannot currently see any tangiable benifits/improvements this has made to us as a club, apart from personal benifits to KL.
  6. Less than £200m?
  7. Yeah, then he can find us some Clinton Nije's, Kevin Georges-Nkoudo, Fazio, Stambouli, Yedlin types.
  8. I guess Bedranek is our new version of Gardos? Never understood that signing, for all the talk about not blocking the path way, that signing did just that.
  9. I think the club had optimism with Austin, let's be fair if he's fit he will always score bags of goals. He just isn't fit for long enough. We were probably optimistic about Jay as well as Long, so you couldn't have really second guessed Long completely forgetting how to play football - and Jay just never returned to his previous self. It was always a risk selling 45/50% of your goals in a single window though, I’ll give you that. The money we got for Pelle just blinded our eyes I think.
  10. Swansea don't seem to have much of a strategy these days (18m on Sam Clucas signals a recruitment team with very little idea). A shame really, they've kind of suffered a similar fate to us - hit the heights of Europe with sought after players, lose the players, chop and change managers, make poor replacements and then you're in a cycle. Let’s hope the VVD fortune enables us to swing around our direction quicker than Swansea have been able to
  11. Giroud, Aboubakar, Dost are the type of centre forwards (not specifically the names, but the attributes) we need to be targetting. Then let Boufal, Gabbiadini et all free in and around them. We'll probably see a lot more from Gabbiadini if he had someone to play off of.
  12. And then he gets injured for a long period of time. Puel gave him a run, scored goals, then landed on his shoulder and was out for 4 months. MP gives him a run, scored goals, then he's done his groin and is out for months. No one is denying that he scores goals, but he seemingly doesn't have the fitness to sustain a run at the highest level.
  13. The amount of pressure on VVD will be huge, they will concede due to the gung-ho way Klopp’s sides play, and for any goals they concede he will be looked at under a microscope. Let's hope he's got broad shoulders. It’ll be interesting – and hopefully funny – to watch it pan out.

    Next Move?

In the summer apparentley, but that's not too much of a surprise.
  15. Given how he's set Newcastle up against City, I'm not sure he'd be any bit different to what we've had. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
  16. Villas-Boas is not an avaliable candidate. He's quit football and is due in South America next month as a Racing Driver.
  17. I'd have hoped we've already got 1 or 2 of our 'main' targets quite far down the line, the release of this news was seemingly on both parties wishes.
  18. I honestly don't think anything is about to change in this regard.
  19. It's time for our black box to have a similar effort to that of the summer of 2014. Obviously not as many in during January, but I'd like to see a minimum of 2 gaurenteed first team starters who improve the squad.
  20. It's a headline fee which you'd have to say is released from our-side, but I'm somewhat disapointed he's going to end up there. Maybe they're still the only club who have bid.
  21. No, that was an absolute fail by Puel. Words fail me as to why he ever suggested that.
  22. I would agree that we need a focal point in attack like him, but we also need people with the ability to supply. I personally wouldn't go anywhere near Carroll as he is too injury prone, you'd only ever get handfulls of games from the bloke before long lay-offs. We already have one of those in Charlie.
