  1. Mane was around 10-11m from memory, VVD was closer to £14m. In fact he was our record signing for a period. The signings that have been cheap and we've tried to gamble on haven't really worked. (Forren, Austin, Juanmi, Bedranek, Gardos, Mayuka). All less than £8m.
  2. I don't think he did. We lost 5-0 at home, then 2-0 at home and 2-1 away early in the season. The 2-0 win in the cup was against a reserve Arsenal side. If he taught us how to play them in that game, he didn't use what he learnt in the forthcoming home games against them later in the season.
  3. The scenes prior to the match will be swept under the carpet to protect the media's love child.
  4. He's already got his feet into english football with Forest, and by all accounts he is a complete and utter crook.
  5. 2 from 3 in my opinion. Stoke, Huddersfield and ourselves. Could just do a toss up between ourselves and Stoke, we both look to have given up. I don't think we're getting to single digits this year Ralph.
  6. The standard is so low that you're probably right, he couldn't be arsed and strolled around most of the time but was still better than the rest of the bunch. Why the club think we were good enough to sell a £75m defender and not replace him is bordering on arrogance and complete and utter mismanagement.
  7. We don't have any free hits left. There's no way we should look at any games as a free hit now, we need as many points as we can get.
  8. There isn't a single player deserving of the accolade. It'll probably be someone like Hojbjerg because he talks a good game though. Not that he plays it.
  9. Unfortunately the squad that has been built lacks three crucial elements. 1 - Pace 2 - Strength 3 - Desire and leadership. The fact remains that individually we have some good, talented international players, but the way the squad has been assembled is all wrong and is lacking those crucial elements in key positions - which means it's impossible to see the best of our talented players. It's a sorry state of affairs. Not sure why we tried so hard to keep Wilson, he's been in charge of this cluster****.
  10. Win 4-1 away from home? In all seriousness it's not going to be as bad as Sunderland, I can't see that. No worse than lower mid-table, but given were we were 24 months ago that is a little diabolical.
  11. That's what happens when you sell off the two defensive linchpins and fail to replace them when required. How we reinvested (or tried to) the VVD fee should be a sackable offence. That money will now drift into the club to help cover the cost of wages due to our demise, so it won't be seen on the first team.
  12. Not sure Gallagher and Reed have really pulled up any trees to be honest. We wouldn't achieve a great deal with those down the spine. Targett would probably do OK though, but let's remember he's in a very confident team with a very, very good player in front of him (Sessengon)
  13. We'll probably end up winning this. And then lose to Bournemouth.
  14. Mid-table at absolute best. That midfield would get bullied off the pitch.
  15. People need to stop playing the Rodriguez line, there are lots of things you can hit the club with but selling Rodriguez isn't one of them. The fact he's down at the bottom with WBA and with only 5 goals to his name shows we pulled off a mini-miracle getting more than £10m for him.
  16. The unfortunate state of affairs mean that the club will see this as a great opportunity to fill us with the academy/Southampton way malarkey, so don't expect big investment into any sort of proven and experienced NPC or top quality (i.e Wolves) as it will block the 'pathway'. We'll just see the likes of Gallagher, Sims, Stephens, Reed, Targett, Hesketh, Bedranek, McQueen etc play bigger roles. That's not a disservice to those guys as they're not bad at that level (not amazing though), but it's still quite a distance away from the last NPC team we had with Cork, Morgan, Lallana, Lambo, Fonte etc down the spine.
  17. I will now be ignoring any of the post-match bilge that filters out of our self-congratulting club. Bring on the summer.
  18. If we continue to play as we are, then we haven't got a hope. This group of games we just waved goodbye to. I think we'd looked at this group of 4 as a chance. Burnley, Stoke, Newcastle, West Ham. 2 points, no wins. Two 3-0 defeats on the bounce to crap such as West Ham and Newcastle, so forgive me if I'm not dancing on the rooftops right now.
  19. Do one Hoedt.
  20. Luckily we have Arsenal and Chelsea up next. It'll take a brave man to see us as anything other than relegation fodder now.
  21. Another pointless performance from Redmond.
  22. I'd stick Valery there tbh. **** it, I'd even prefer to see Yoshida.
  23. but about 100 times worse. This is where we'll need to see Gao's big pockets. Not that we will.
  24. We waited too long with MP. Every single thing wrong with us at this moment in time lies with the people in charge of this club, they've dragged us down with their pompus self-believing hype.
  25. Don't start on that one. It isn't the fans fault.
