  1. Nope, seeing as our final place may come down to GD.
  2. ...What are you implying?
  3. It's gone under the radar as much as the fact it was Gerrard's birthday on the cup final that year.
  4. lol @ utd. Sanches was their main target.
  5. That would bring an equally euphoric reaction. West Ham v Utd Stoke v West Ham Liverpool v Chelsea West Brom v Liverpool We only really need a Liverpool/West Ham slip up in 1 of those 4 matches, and then it's totally in our hands for Sunday. I think the chances of that are quite high. (This is finishing top 7 though, not 6th)
  6. You've got it. Basically, 5th is a EL place, straight into the group stage, whatever. 6th is an EL place, but will be an automatic group stage place if Utd beat Palace. 7th will be a third qualifying EL place if Utd beat Palace. If Palace beat Utd, then the league positions will end at 6th
  7. A very arrogant attitude and one which will put us out on our arses.
  8. And for the last time this season..... bump!
  9. People are seriously getting their knickers in a twist on this thread. All that really needs to be said is that it's great news, it strengthens our position and sends out a message of commitment to other players. I noticed Koeman said he hopes to have a few more to announce in the coming weeks - I'd fully expect Long, Tadic, Fraser to be next down the line.
  10. The most satisfying win of the season by far. I thought we started slowly and Spurs seemed to start with a point to prove, but we got the 1-1 at the right time. That seemed to kill off any belief they had and from then on in it was us who had the better chances. Although they had more of the ball, most of that was between the CB's and sideways in midfield. The amount of times you saw the likes of Erikksen stopping, looking, then going back is great credit to our organisation. There's 'putting men behind the ball' and then there's tactically holding a shape and having ways to evolve from that shape into an attacking move, and we mastered that to the T today. Perfect away performance and now Koeman can say he has beaten every single premier league club in his 2 seasons here. In my honest opinion, I cannot see both Liverpool and West Ham winning both of their remaining games - it would be incredibly freakish if they did, so as long as we win on the last day I think we'll be in the same position as last year - rooting for a team in the FA Cup final!
  11. The north london yobo's aren't happy with it, saying it's too big a ban. It was a nothing incident, apparently. I kind of agree, if someone tried to gauge my eye out at the weekend I'd laugh it off - just proper banter!
  12. Yeah that's exactly it, not sure why the media/press are getting their knickers in a twist over it all. Simple maths - win 2 games, get 63pts, 90%+ chance of finishing top 7 I'd say. Worry over.
  13. I wonder where toe_punt went? It's not like he was made to look like a fool or anything.
  14. There's more chance of me marrying Cheryl Fernandez-whatsit
  15. Another classic thread from 9-3.
  16. But what he said is basically no different to what Raneri has come out with this year.
  17. This thread is a fine example of why you can never snapshot a period of games and conclude the entire outcome of the season based on that period. I think our early exit from Europe hurt us mentally, I think it affected us more than we let on. We fought so hard for that last year and to go out so meekly must have dropped the morale.
  18. Well that's quite a lot of waffle. Les Reed came out last year saying that we have no intention to sell players, we're not looking to sell, we don't need to sell. So we sent out exactly the same message last year. Although players talk, money talks, agents talk. We didn't have the intention, but if the players decide their future isn't here then you are pushed into a bit of a corner. Let's see how Leicester react when their players start asking to leave, although with CL football and a winners medal, they may not be in as such a rush to leave. Everyone on here has ambition, we all want to win and we all want to see success for our club. I didn't hear any Leicester fans slamming Raneiri for targeting safety in December, that's not exactly showing ambition is it? We are in no different a position to Leicester, people cannot start coming out now and saying ''Oh i wish we were like Leicester, i wish we showed ambition, i wish'' - they've shown no more or no less ambition than ourselves. If anything, Leicesters success vindicates our approach in scouting, transfers and management.
  19. Momentum is so important in any sport, but Leicester have achieved what they did through momentum, self belief and confidence. If you foster a good team spirit and get a real momentum behind you, you can be tough to stop - no matter how much money other teams have spent. The league is more of an even playing field these days, there are quite simply no easy games. It's not all about how much money you spend and who has the biggest net spend - it means nothing. I'm comfortable with the way we do things. Just imagine this place last summer if we'd signed a free transfer left back and a Stoke city squad CB. There would have been uproar. But this achievement shows that football is still about more than just money and finances, which is very refreshing at a time when there were talk of the rest 'pulling away' for ever. A team spirit and a self belief can still get you far. And also another point, I've seen it mentioned here and elsewhere that what Leicester did is what can happen when you 'Don't sell your best players' - but who the hell wanted Vardy, Marhez, Huth, Morgan on the back of last season? Maybe a few NPC clubs? This summer will be the test to see who they can keep hold of, and I really hope they can - I'd hate to see them ripped apart by the big boys.
  20. Are you serious Clark? jammy get!
  21. I'm going to put a bet on Burnley to win it next year.
  22. He would have needed 10 to be banned.
  23. Weird post. Surely the last two windows have given us more than enough reason to trust them? We're probably the best run club in the league. If you want to moan about 'boards' then take a look on Villa's, Newcastles forums.
  24. As he already had a yellow, that's that. No more can be done.
