Saints 8 (Eight) Sunderland 0 - Match and Reactions
S-Clarke replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
He's a joke player these days. Should have hung up his boots, not trying to delay the inevitable. Lovren is probably their worst CB. Can't see him lasting here for long, it's 2/3 errors a game guaranteed. £20m, thank you. -

Lol @ Liverpool, what a complete and utter mess of a team. Brendan Rogers has done an amazing job of breaking his own side. It's so funny to watch. -
Chambers wasn't even an original call up, which makes it even more bizarre - as it suggests Clyne was chosen before him in the squad setup anyway. Losing in the CL obviously means more.

Move to Liverpool.

The amount of stick Pelle got after that first game was mental. The crowd jeering was one of the low points, sod all that happened in the summer, that was a real low point and the fans could have so easily created a really difficult situation. Luckily he's a strong bugger and has proven them all wrong.

They started the game really well, they had good control and after 10 mins it looked like it could be a long afternoon. But we did get our chances, and were just much more clinical. Their defence was the worst I've ever seen at this level, but we were still supremely clinical. -
Sunderland fans think he's class, but whenever I've seen him he's a bit bambi on ice. Looks a truly abysmal player, shouldn't be playing at this level.

CONFIRMED: Rodriguez ruptures ACL - out for SIX months

Mane, Jay and Long will rotate that position. We have much more depth this year in that area. So much pace and movement. -
Tadic most unselfish Saints player ever?
S-Clarke replied to Red and White Army's topic in The Saints
I remember reading before we signed him that he always created a silly amount of chances per game. On paper, teaming up the dutch leagues most threatening creative player with the leagues most prolific scorer looked a match made in heaven - it never usually works out like that though, but in this case it has. What a combo those 2 are. Intelligent, unselfish, composed. Not very quick but his ability to pick out a pass is as good as I've seen down at St Mary's. In terms of end product, he's a notch up from Lallana. And that's the all important thing here. -

I don't think it was possible to avoid a few ''WTF'' moments in the summer, and it didn't help with Ralf's poorly timed PR exercises. But as I said at the time, the appointment of Koeman eased my fears. All the talk about selling up, losing our ambition etc etc was blown away by the fact we'd just appointed Koeman. A manager of his stature would not be joining a club that had no ambition, so from the moment we brought him in I felt the ambition was still there from within. You do get the feeling that Les knew what was going on all along, and he didn't deserve any of the stick he got. We were bloody lucky he was still here this year.

He moved Sunderland around all afternoon and completely unsettled them, just as he did against Newcastle. Yes, he may need a goal, but he wasn't bought for his goals - he was bought to offer us exactly what he's offering us right now, allows us to open the game and stretch the opponents.
-
Lol, that's awesome.

errr....wow? I.Was.There. I thought Sunderland started pretty well, we just had more quality up front and took our chances. After the 3/4th they just fell apart though. As good as that was, you will never see a PL team defending like that again! Shambles! but who cares, we well and truly took advantage of it! Not sure what more you can say.....just a master-class in clinical play, something we didn't do so well last year. -
It is frustrating, I must admit. If Di Maria and Van Gal had got it for e.g, we'd have half the programme devoted to the 'amazing job' he's done and the 'special talent' of di maria and what he eats for breakfast. It's not even accidental any more, it's so clear that anyone out of the top 4 just make up the numbers, they're simply not interested. The only way it'll ever be broken up is the league splitting into 2. Give Utd, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Madrid, Barca, Bayern their own league - let them play around with each other and do what they want, it might actually give us an opportunity.
-
Is that for real???? That's quite incredible really.
-
What did they cock-up? They signed a better keeper to put pressure/replace him.
-
Once he got himself fully into the side around the October > Dec period, he was our best player in that NPC season. He got an injury which derailed the rest of his season though unfortunately. He was like a new signing at the start though.
-
Yeah, for Fonte that season in the NPC was a little odd for him. I was always a little confused by his struggles at parts of that season, as he was the one player who had built in technical ability, very good composure and reading of the game...yet it seemed to desert him at times in that season. Jos seemed to come out with the higher rep. but to be honest, the ''better footballer'' was always going to be the stronger player in the PL and I'm glad he regained his composure to become a Portuguese international.
-
Amazing result for NI. Truly stunning stuff really, probably the toughest away in the group and they've won it. I reckon they should aim for the play-off at least?
-
A couple of the responses in this thread are just pointless, there's no need for them. Stop trying to WUM people. I agree with Batman's post, I'm not sure why people can't see the point he's making? Are they dim or something? Basically, prior to our hell December run - we've got a run of matches which we can try and pick-up a decent amount of points in, which will at least allow us to be comfortable and not looking over our shoulder a great deal! Hell, we may even win them all! Plenty to look forward to.

Rooney I imagine.

Goal keeper mistake wins it. What a truly uninspiring display of ****.

The last time I enjoyed England was the 04-06 era.

It's not just Roy, it's the entire FA setup. Corrupt from the top down.
