Always liked Bairdy when he was here, always have fond memories of that season we just missed out. Don't know why, but maybe deep down I just knew it was the most fun (in terms of winning games) we'd have for a good few years....as it was pretty horrific there on in.

Spot on, he gets you off your seat initially as he beats a man with great skill but then it just stops and it goes out for a throw in our something. If Lallana had pace and power he wouldn't be here, put it that way. That's the only reason big clubs haven't spoken about him IMO, still a big talent though. Insane technical ability in those boots.

I don't think he's that good to be honest. Probably not worth what the club would need to pay in wages.

The problem is, now we just.......stop.

For most of us, 20-30k a year is a decent solid wage. He will earn over £15m a year. what the hell. 24 years old and getting that a year. Not to mention the incredible signing on bonus he would have got to enable him to setup in spain. TBH, if he was injured for life tomorrow (i hope to god he isn't...!!) then he'd still never, ever need to do a days work again.

We want the buying club to pay his wages in full, they won't, so billy wants us to subsidise what he loses up until the end of his contract with us. We're not prepared to do that, hence stalemate. Money grabbing b.....etc That's what I've heard anyway.

He's not massively quick, but he's direct with his running and gives the impression that he's quick..as it opens up space etc. I wouldn't say he's slow though.

It was a tenner and kids for free I believe, Adam Lallana's debut game - remember it well. As you said, we got a decent crowd that day too. I think it was closer to 20k though.

Only thing which is a bit frustrating is the sale of Puncheon, and not bringing in a similar type player. But we should still do better than last year, so progress will be made!

He's been in Spain for a while with Valencia and Almeria (since 2008 ). So he wouldn't have Spanish nationality yet. Work permit application could be interesting.

Anyway, as it looked like Piatti was moving to Getafe last night......it seems as if t hat's not yet the case, and some journo's are again linking us to him. We're cutting it a bit fine for a European signing though aren't we?
