Tough one, don't really like the bloke but his goals for us, especially at Fratton, makes it hard to give him a tough time. I'd rather he gets a knock v West Ham today and doesn't play.
-
Really hard game to predict, Villa have had some really mixed results so far this season, only bet I'd feel confident of placing is Ings to score anytime.
-
Agree completely, really enjoyed the day, we always take a good following to Watford and well deserved the 3 points, but we made much harder work of it than needed. 1 shot on target is crazy for our dominance. Armstrong needs a bit of luck to get him going again, he must have had 6 or 7 shots himself, had a good game other than finishing. Watford fans seemed pessimistic, not seen so many leave before the end when it's only 1-0 before. Table looks much better now, Brentford sinking down after a good start perhaps they will struggle after all.

Just a shame the last min header didn't fly into the top corner, I reckon he'd have taken out most of the lower tier diving into the away end to celebrate.

Lyanco vs Chelsea (A) A much improved performance after his debut; impressive aerially and played some really nice passes. Starting to look like a fairly solid back-up, could even stake a claim to start over Bednarek on Saturday #saintsfc https://t.co/9Spigv6shW

Agree was a really good game , proper cup tie, just gutted to lose especially after those chances at the end. Lyanco and Salisu won a lot on the air, showed good pace and strength, we've missed that at the back. I was lower tier so hard to tell what it was like up top but thought our support was excellent. Walcott - loads of negative comments when he came on and also at the penalty, he's going to become a target for the boo boys , shame sorry way to end his career but he's not at this level anymore I think.
-
Yep he did well, fair play, made several interceptions and really got involved in the game. I was sceptical but proved wrong last night.
-
Exactly my thoughts, he looked really good last night. I was dreading it when I saw the line up having seen him bullied by McBurnie at Sheff Utd but he was like a different player at Chelsea, a true Gorilla
-
And the defence looks weak defensively so there is a theme
-
If, and its a big If, Ralph plays him at CB tonight then that is the final nail for Ralph it would be as if he's trying to get the sack.
-
Fuck sake just seen this, would have stayed at home if I knew Ralph was planning this sort of kamikaze nonsense , Valery at CB my word , honestly would rather play Walcott there
-
He's going to have to improved a lot since Sheff Utd, but fingers crossed.
-
Give the ticket office a call , might be able to buy and collect at Chelsea
-
Bloke behind me spent whole game calling Walcott a c*nt or "that's fucking shit walcott" and seemed to have a tantrum everytime we gave the ball away so it's not just on here

Apparently police investigating this as a hate crime, would be good for an arrest to be made to go to court and see the defence barrister produce evidence that the Saudi state have been involved in all those things, doubt the Saudis would want that publicity. Clearly its a dig at two things, the fit and proper owners process and the bore fest of Newcastle fans celebrating "having their club back"
-
Good point, the number of people around me vocally slagging off Walcott and to a lesser extent Redmond was ridiculous, one bloke behind me spent most or the game having a tantrum, can't fault the players effort you've got to blame the manager for picking them.
-
Good luck with your search, might need to travel in to Southampton to get the coach . Other clubs seem to have much better organised regional supporters groups that help arrange travel etc, you'd have thought Saints would have enough Dorset based fans to do that, most people happy just doing their own thing I guess.

Agree with that, our attacking play just hit the brakes as soon as Ely or Walcott got involved. Romeu superb. KWP will hopefully remind Ralph of what a great player he is on Tuesday night.
-
Yeah lower tier sold out. Upper was down to about 90 left about 1pm today the ticket details said "off sale" from 3pm today so not sure if we sold any more, but that's not a bad following just short of 3000 in this competition. I'd imagine Ralph will make quite a few changes, personally i don't think we can get away with Lyanco against this Chelsea team, only hope is they play a weak side and give us a chance with the high number of fixtures they've got. Broja can't play for us and none of our other strikers look like scoring. JWP completes his suspension so he'll be back on Saturday. Looking forward to it, cup away day , Newport and Sheff Utd were decent been a good cup run.
-
Walcott was so bad it makes you wonder what he does in training to get a start, but agree S. Armstrong looks well off his old sharpness going to need some more minutes to get that back. Surprising Djenepo or Tella didn't play. Burnley played some decent stuff , other than last season when none of us could go we always struggle against them

"Family fun day" - it's got 0-0 or 0-1 defeat written all over it.
-
Thousands of miles travelled without a goal scored, classic Puel. People like to be reminiscent about Milan but for me Hapeol Beersheeva away was the best trip, set a record for furthest ever distance for a competitive Saints fixture , doubt that will be beaten unless the Premier league start playing league games in America and Asia.

It's good to see and shows what a difference sensible pricing can make, opening new blocks in the Northam with the "Itchen South" pricing £15 for adults is brilliant to be fair. Not sure what the atmosphere will be like, small away following won't make much noise and Saints have made it "family day" with junior member tickets for £1 so lots of nippers there. Will be nice knowing there's no neutrals there just to watch stars playing for the opposition.
