i wish St Marys had more character. if we could have stayed at the Dell and developed it to be 32k then yes, i think i would.
-
yeah i've seen a few thrashings there, but pleased to be there for the televised sunday game in 2008 when we won 2-0 Kevin Davies, only about 300 saints fans at the game

Nininan > whatever cardiff’s new ground is Highbury > emirates (its named after a middle east airline FFS) Highfield Road > Ricoh retail park The list is endless, all these “shiny new grounds” will eventually age and look less appealing than the grand old grounds that at least have some character.
-
what right thinking football fan would want that? football goes in cycles, hopefully it will become unfashionable again, the corporate market will fall apart and clubs will actually have to treat their fans with respect being the main income.
-
"new revenue stream" if i ever hear someone mention those words when justifying knocking down cracking old football grounds i'll go mental. their ground holds just under 40k so is big enough for them, like Cov moving from Highfield Road, completely unneccessary
-
the lead name is on them, but you'll be fine as they won't know if you are a season ticket holder or a plus 1 so nothing to worry about
-
if they get crowds of 35k at Goodison how is that holding them back? it is a cracking old ground, full of history and character and would be a very sad day for football if it ever goes, depsite our appaling form there i used to enjoy it, cracking chippy across from the main stand for chips and curry sauce

i was talking to a friend of a friend after the Hull game who is a steward, he has refused to work for skates away and said the club had been practically begging them to do it to get enough volunteers, the main jist seems to be on top of their normal work of sitting around looking at fans they are also going to be a figure head on the bus checking bus tickets and handing out match tickets which is a bit more than their normal role, then once at the ground they will have to work with the skates and follow instructions on what to do it all adds to the amatuerness of the operation, can you imagine on the bus they run out of tickets with still a couple of people to go!! hahah i guess they'd just let you in once at Fratton anyway
-
will definitely be a free for all after the game, they won't have bus tickets to check anymore so will just herd people on
-
you could always trying to ring the bell on the bus, the driver might slip into auto mode and pull over at the next stop
-
i know it is always worth taking with a pinch of salt, but when getting tickets at 12.15 today they estimated that we have already sold 1600 in the first 3 hours today, anyone thinkin of going should probably buy sooner rather than later
-
i agree, Blackpool fans won't fancy the trip, and personally i think the ticket prices are too high for games like this, it is interesting to compare with Birmingham who have category A,B,C and D games so lower prices for less popular matches. i'd rather keep the £27 in my pocket and watch on sky, keeping the money back for other games, will use it for Brighton away instead.

great post, would be good to have a few accounts from the older contingent especially of 1984, Alan Knights testimonial was a funny one, get the stories on here to add to the build up, no one really wants to hear about 2005 though.
-
the teams who have sold out there - Liverpool 2,403 , west ham 2,401 so think we can assume that is the capacity of that stand and we'll have 2400
-
Cheers nice one, should get these sorted tomorrow, can see them selling out fairly quickly, the draw of a new ground often has that effect.
-
does anyone know if you can go down to the ticket office with a list of season ticket numbers but not the actualy season tickets in hand to purchase?
-
a free for all to season ticket holders, i reckon this will sell out in a couple of days, 2000 not that big an allocation
-
how do you know you were unsuccessful? confirmation email from club or just not showing yet in online profile?
-
you don't sound very fun, mr pokingfun, i would say plenty of fans of other clubs will watch the game which is live on BBC, if we have lots of visible empty seats i'll be getting texts from lads i know who follow a number of teams asking what the f*ck is wrong with our support if we can't sell out a local derby
-
can people stop using this tearing of new ones saying, it is f*cking annoying and makes no sense whatsoever, no doubt it is used by the same prats who say stuff like "man up"
-
most of those are home games which misses the point really, they won't have been intimidated like they'll be at Fratton and the shocker we had in 2005, i am yet to be convinced we have the fight in the team for it , especially without Chaplow, unfortunately i can see a 1-0 defeat, with us failing to score again like Bristol City and Doncaster
-
there is no way anyone will go to their designated seats anyway, people will pile in the ground and stand with their mates so wouldn't worry too much about the match ticket, but would be annoying to be split up from mates on the coach
-
Anyone interested in seeing the future stars get along to st marys 18th Dec for sheff utd home in FA youth cup and give them some support
-
I agree, anyone who has ever met him would never have a go at him, such a nice genuine lad. Danny have a great day at skates, wear the shirt if you want, just promise you'll sing your heart out and get behind the lads for 90 mins :-)
-
and did you ask them how many tickets we had been allocated? and did they give you the "we can't confirm that" ? and if they haven't finished processing the 2nd ballot what was that news story last week all about saying "all tickets have been taken up"
