this is the sort of f*cking stupid clueless comment that does my head in. anyone who has been to football in Germany or Switzerland will be able to testify how much better the atmospheres and match going experience is for the average fan by having standing, the ground is still majority seated so all the codgers have their choice, and those who want to stand can have their preference. the point is they give the people the CHOICE and trust them to use it. in this country they would rather dictate to you what you can and can't do, virtually every team who has a decent away following now stands every away game, the fans clearly don't want all seated grounds. the authorities do as they can keep control of the fans.
