do you want the average man on the street to be able to afford to follow their team or be priced out for the occassional / corporate fan?? do football fans have it better now than ever? NO AL CALCIO MODERNO
-
i appreciate my above comment does not relate to parking at the ground, where there is a choice to use it or not.

there is something unethical about fleecing your customers when you have a monopoly - that is why the monopolies commission encourage compeition, to keep prices down and allow choice for the consumer.
-
even worse, that will explain your high pitched voice singing "red army"
-
you have to laugh really, everyone is seeing $ signs, the old bill are laughing all the way to the bank on their overtime, the coach company will be charging a premium (but we will still be making profit on it) and the club are cashing in as well !! still it is a "reduced rate" than normal!
-
no one has said they are too cool to sing, on the contrary it is people who want the atmosphere to be better by getting rid of the shlt songs sang by people like you while clapping frantically with the restricted movement of having a tight saints shirts draped over the top of your jumper
-
the same happens to oh when the saints, we've had a couple of cracking slow renditions recently, but too often, especially at home, it descends into super fast clapping where fans start to resemble demented seals

Quiz question - When was the last time Saints finished above...
JRM replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
bugger i forgot about them, wimbledon and QPR were above us (and Arsenal / chelsea) though -
then i think you are looking the wrong place, advanced fares usually go on sale 12 weeks bang on before travel date, we normally jump on them and get the lowest possible fare, sometimes involves going a bit earlier in the day, but often very good, think we did Hartlepool away last year for £25 return, and virgin trains did good ones for the north west trips, the lads with the under 26 YP railcards were laughing with their extra 1/3rd off. of course if you leave it until nearer the time prices are higher. skates away - £30 match ticket, do you not think that is a bit steep? as was £25 at Charlton for a 3rd division game i thought

and Arsenal were shocking with Bruce Rioch in charge and Eddie McGoldrick on the wing and Paul Dickov up front! i loved the Mural they had at the north bank at the time -

not really when you look at the other teams up there, here is a question, who was the top London club that season? -
i wonder what the policy on parking at st marys is going to be that day? £10 a car?
-
i know, and i miss a lot more games now than i used to, and as i say will boycott Leeds away, but fans who love their football are bound to feel resentful that they are missing out on going to see their team because of the cost.
-
i completely disagree with that, there are travel options that we use, Megatrain for a £1 each way, coaches, away games we do book up 12 weeks in advance, those who use the away forum will know myself and others i know are well ahead on that for deals, some Fulham i know get a car load together for some away games up north to share the cost, 5 in a car and split the petrol, the one thing everyone feels is a p*ss take is the ticket prices, clubs have taken the p*ss for years now, bumping up prices year in year out , Chelsea away for Arsenal tomorrow is going to be £65 for a ticket, how can fans "never had it so good" when being charged that???!!!
-
the radio discussion was based around "do fans have it better now than ever" not specifically saints, but football fans, and my comment is valid as such, have loads of mates who go regualrly, most of them London / home counties based fans of London clubs and the one thing we all have in common is disgust at the prices clubs get away with charging, we generally all still go as we love our football, but have all cut back, i see lads who used to do every spurs game home and away just getting season tickets now, fed up at being charged £55 to get to places like Fulham and West Ham, and QPR charging up to £65 this year, it's disgusting. Leeds recently moved the away fans at Elland Road from a corner to the side stand for no other reason than they can charge more for the tickets, £36 for Leeds away this year, £19 for kids!! you've got to be f8cking joking so that is one i'll be giving a miss to. So bear that in mind from your desk in Sweden, that decent lads who have grown up following their clubs are now missing games by being priced out, maybe today's football fans don't have it so good after all........

for inspiration have a look at FC United on youtube, they have some good ones. saints struggle singing anything that doesn't involve clapping at a thousand miles an hour.
-
yeah, i beleive we first watched him in a game Chesterfield v Plymouth and ended up signing Micky Evans instead, then we went back for Davies in the summer?

if you've ever been hit by a stick of celery you'd understand why it is such a serious offence. scum.
-
One of my most hated songs has got to me "i've got a shed, that's bigger than this" it is f*cking abysmal rubbish song that makes me want to lash out at anyone within reach who is singing it
-
should do that one game this year and throw a load of celery on the pitch for old times sake

Boro have sold 1400 so far, bound to have a few paying on the day http://www.mfc.co.uk/page/news/moggas-message/0,,1~2497186,00.html so i'd expect it to be about 1500/1600 in their end, not bad for that distance.

one of my favourite cup semi finals of the modern era was MIddlesbrough v Chesterfield in 1998 3-3 draw, what a game that was, and Boro went down that season i think?
-
some blokes on my row at Palace tried starting it a couple of times but luckily no one joined in, all mid to late 20s wearing their saints shirts on top of their jumpers / hoodies, their inability to even dress themselves with an ounce of style tells you all you need to know
-
i think she used to be a weather girl , she didn't have a clue about any of the topics of discussion
-
you're right, a teams form is dependent on the threads on their football forums.
