  1. i see it at work every day, sit next to a woman who does nothing but worry about paying her mortgage, clearly borrowed too much , and they literally do nothing but survive, i think to myself, at the end of all this, what will they look back and think? we have just completely wasted our lives, people think London is a rich place, and it is for some, but an army of normal people earn 20-30k which is barely enough to live on, you just work to live, with your earnings disappearing in rent, travelcard and food and nothing left at the end of it.
  2. kind of detracting from the topic here, but no the stereotype is not because of me being influenced by Harry Enfield, i have been to Liverpool plenty of times, and have met scouse lads following England abroad, they take a great pride in the jibbing culture, getting as much as you can without paying for it. tell you what have a read of the book "boys from the mersey" which gives a great insight into Liverpool fans culture of the 70s and 80s but also an insight into the city life. They do feel hard done by, and some of the reasons you have given are fair, but the benefits culture and "being on the sick" is engrained in some of the parts of the city with whole families being signed up for the handouts. I first went to the city in 1988 for Everton away and have been up there pretty much every year since, i also spent a fair few weekends up there going up with my Fulham mate who decided scouse birds were the best in the world just from their use of fake tan and pronounciation of the word boobs in that accent! this is a good speech
  3. and fair play to the skates for complaining about it.
  4. they already have cctv at the ground, so why the need for the Hant football ;intelligence' to ponce around with a camera provactively, you wouldn't stand for it doing any other activity, taking your kids to the park for example, so you shouldn't stand for it at football
  5. you will be fine, i honestly think we will struggle to sell out. Don't worry.
  6. this is a good site as well http://www.raileurope.co.uk/Default.aspx?tabid=39&source=google_adwords&affiliate=RELGOO003&gclid=CJiriIjcu6wCFQQm3godiDicoQ if England end up playing in western Poland i would advise them to travel in to save money, we went to Germany away in 2008 a game played in Berlin and travelled via Poznan, the train from there only took a couple of hours and was cheap, so have a look at Germany as an option to fly into then get the train from there.
  7. large parts of London are an absolute sh*thole, and the tragic thing is it has more opportunity to work than anywhere else. there are plenty of people in London on the take, but culturally Liverpool is the city with the biggest association ironically scousers are resourceful people who are clever at finding a way by, they often don't like playing by the rules though and see the benefit claiming as fair game against a "government and country" who owe them
  8. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news/2011/04/04/more-than-76-000-merseysiders-on-incapacity-benefit-to-undergo-fitness-for-work-test-100252-28453203/ good old scousers eh?
  9. not stereotyping, we both know Liverpool has a higher percentage than the average town. nothing wrong with people on JSA of all ages doing some king of work in return for some money (benefits), everyone is a winner if it is done correctly.
  10. i reckon they watch certain seats for a period of games and pick people from that, no way would they completely randomly invite people and run the risk of cortese having to sit though a meal with what could be a table of ****heads 18 year olds and an old lady
  11. there are plenty in Liverpool who claime sick benefit and have a nice bit of cash in hand work on the side as well, it is people like that they need to really start getting at. i suggested working for benefits a while ago on here and it is the right thing to do, gets people used to the routine and structure of a job, and if they want money from the tax payer they need to do something to earn it, would ideally be jobs in the community that help improve the areas though
  12. Well considering it was “close to a sell out” at the end of last week it is interesting the club have been doing a lot of promotion on the official website, the hospitality won’t be sold out so that will account for a few. Just goes to show even for the most sought after games this season there is no problem getting tickets.
  13. they keep mentioning that if you buy a ticket in the family stand you can get one for Hull for £15 , but i thought the Chapel was already full for the Brighton game and it was just the Itchen corner left http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2516867,00.html as this has been database only right from the start i think that might be effecting sales a bit, but thought it would have sold out considering at the end of last week they had opened the Itchen Corner
  14. Is it too early to start designing next years home shirt? Or at least guessing the design?
  15. brilliant use of association there, so someone who believes in standing up to the group "islam for uk" who planned to disrupt remembrance day or whatever name they go under now is the same as the murderers who killed stephen lawrence , nice one Solent !!
  16. You can upgrade it at the ticket office for that game
  17. would be good for someone to take pictures with them of other grounds that have flags on display and ask him why the saints safety officer can't be arsed with the paper work so saints fans can have one as well. the ticket news - why they make fans jump through hoops to get away tickets., especially those who don't live in southampton. how much profit do the club expect to make from the bubble trip buses to Fratton? how did they do the costing?
  18. the ticket office say that sometimes, what they mean is you have to be on the database, shame they couldn't help out a fan over from Malta. if someone on here lives near the ground would be the best bet, or has a spare.
  19. i think you have to go to the window at the ticket office and re-print new ones there taking the other ones off you. that is what my mate did, they wouldn't do it over the phone though
  20. that was just probably the wind blowing around Hillsborough fulham did it for steed malbronque (however you spell the name, can't be bothered to look it up) and that was sh*t as well
  21. i'm not doing Donny either mate, think i'll be down in southampton but will probably watch Totton on tv to save cash (and probably wouldn't get a ticket anyway) i really hope they get through , as well as Sutton, both would be high on my list of 3rd round draw opponents
  22. i've past it on the bus a few times and looked in from the upper deck of the X7, it looks decent but limited, reckon they will put up a temp stand to help them segregate the Bristol Rovers fans? they could lose some of the capacity allowing for segregation
  23. i am going tonight, partly as a) i have nothing better to do, b) it is a night out and a chance to catch up with a few mates, and c) i plan to spend most of the time shouting abuse at John Terry and other players i dislike
  24. you'd be out of the ground at Totton at 2.30 easily so depending where you park could do it easily, hahaah what a sunday, are you going to Donny?
