He's already as settled as he could be. He loves the club, the way we play and the area. Once he moves out of the hotel and into his house, that'll be the final piece of the jigsaw.

Which is why, on the 'Megastore signing substitution' thread, I just said 'personal reasons' instead of 'bereavement'. I was due to take some players and WAGs to London as a lot of the squad had planned a meal to celebrate Gastón's birthday. This was cancelled 20mins before we were set to leave, once the sad news came through. I was not about to blurt the reasons why, as it was a personal and private matter. I don't feel particularly comfortable even sharing this now and wouldn't had it not been for Nigel's 'compassionate leave' comments and a few people on here already confirming a bereavement. Some people know a lot more information than they are happy to share on here publically and those who have said the full information should've been disclosed so as to avoid speculation are wrong: this is a 22yr old lad, newly living in a foreign country who has lost a close relative - nothing gives you all the right to have to be informed of the full details of such a private matter, but in this age of instant information, too many people think it's their right. Rest assured: Gastón is back, attended training this afternoon, and will hopefully be fit and chosen to play tomorrow - AS NIGEL SAID/PREDICTED A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO. Can we move on now?

I wonder who Max Clifford will sell his story to...

I know, but again, out of respect and his privacy I am not going to say. And Wurzel: Gastón has been having a few English lessons a week. He has gone from not speaking or understanding a word of English when he first arrived, to being able to hold a very decent conversation in the short time he's been here. His pronunciation can be a bit off and I have had to have him repeat things a few times... but he's getting there!

Luke Shaw, on the left side of de-fence...

Gastón had to fly home yesterday evening for 'family reasons'. No injury, no bust up, no problems. Out of respect, I am not going to divulge the reason, but neither should anyone get agitated or indeed speculate wildly. He's happy here, is moving out of the hotel into his new house and is having his Ford Mustang shipped here any day now, so don't worry about his commitment to SFC (his Mustang is frickin' awesome, by the way!)

I doubt that has ever been managed before. It's a new record that they can put up there with having held the FA Cup for seven years from 1939-1946, thanks to Hitler suspending the competition.

I'd rather have Ramirez, any day of the week.

You know how Rod Hull used to like sticking his fist up a young bird's backside?...

The 300 rounds of ammo clearly didn't help his case. That'll teach you all to sign these stupid online petitions without being in possession of the full facts.

Maybe women are less careful at hiding their infidelity and either confess their sins or show signs of guilt. Blokes are probably more careful and better liars. You should canvass the ex-husbands to find out how many of the 10 had also cheated whilst they were married to their cheating wives, but never admitted it or been found out.

Any man that uses buses is a bit of a loser, so I stopped reading there.

You'd think that, by now, they'd be experts in plurals and possessives - what with having been in administration more than once as a result of spending money that belongs to other people.

Did you read Saint137's 'chunky' comment?

'Chunkier' even.

Nexus4 133.9 x 68.7 x 9.1mm 139grams iPhone 5 124 x 59 x 7.6mm 112grams I gave up believing or caring what you had to say after your 'chunky' iPhone comment.

That is one ugly interface, it has to be said.

Whereas your ability to compare bananas with elephants is commendable.

Ooh, the Kindle Fire is a quarter of the price of the top of the range iPad Mini, yet has a 'better' screen (but let's not mention no HD front-facing camera, no rear camera, no GPS or non-wifi location services, nor the paltry storage in comparison to the Mini's 64GB and no Bluetooth, etc... and breath... sigh.)

So show us where this fantastic device that out-specs an 'upwards of £500' iPad Mini, yet costs 2/5 of the price then...
