  1. Can you cry-babies just get your heads round the result, please. We're leaving the EU. It was a democratic vote. Maybe the lack of democracy in the EU appeals to you, but we're coming out.
  2. She would be nothing more than a stalking horse. The next leader of the Labour Party is yet to show his hand.
  3. Didn't think he had his best game last night. His distribution was woeful.
  4. Takes over from the Pony kit as the worst we've ever had.
  5. Am I missing something here? All he looks to me is someone that can do step-overs and fall over a lot. Can't pass, can't cross. Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. That money would be better spent on Ox.
  6. I don't understand why the overwhelming fans choice (the Patrick kit), gets ignored year on year. The supposed new kit looks absolute sh*t.
  7. Corbyn hides behind a 'democratic mandate', but all he did was mobilise Trotskyites and members of the Socialist Workers Party to pay £3 and join the voting process. The whole process is not democratic, it's a sham. Meanwhile, the union leaders are playing a very strange game. Support for Corbyn will ultimately lead to them being marginalised and losing even more influence. Their support for the government in the EU referendum has made a lot of dyed in the wool union members at my place of work question their memberships. Corbyn's Labour Party, and the Trade Unions are so disconnected from the people they purport to represent, and those whose support they need. If this continues, both bodies will die the Labour Party will split. Labour will become nothing more than a hobby plaything for the London metropolitan elite, scoffing at the needs of the working class. The unions membership will continue to decline. I don't recognise the Labour Party that I have voted for all my life. But there's no sentiment from me, they won't get my vote as they are, out of some expectation of loyalty.
  8. I don't like talk of 'philosophies' but it's not a bad idea. Koeman changed his tactics last year, and it got us out of a hole. We need a coach who can implement different systems, and make the players comfortable in all of them. Why would you play the same formation against a side who play 1, 2 or 3 up front. I like the idea of a younger manager with someone experienced alongside him. I would go for Shearer with Hoddle or Venables. I would also like someone like Tony Adams to work with the defence and help inject a bit of pride into the shirt.
  9. What's wrong with the England side starts with who selects the manager. We have 2 businessmen, and a technical director who played 5 minutes for Norwich (but who apparently does a good PowerPoint presentation). Uppermost in their minds will be whether the new manager will tow the line and be a yes man. It's how Hodgson and McLaren got appointed when there were much better, slightly more colourful, alternatives. It's why they appeared so keen on Southgate and why he was the early bookies favourite. Quite why there isn't more football experience in the selection committee I wil never know. The stuffed shirt syndrome is why we never got Clough, and why Venables was 'ousted', it's why legendary coaches like Allison were never let near the national set-up. It seems to me, that all England managers in recent history, simply fill their squad with players from the big sides, and select their teams on reputation alone. It's as if their sponsors are a major consideration. Alf Ramsey didn't pick his best players in 66, he picked the players who worked best together. Going forward, I wouldn't necessarily give the job to an experienced club manager. What about an experienced ex-international with tournament experience. Let him have a small team around him that includes experience. Allardyce is an experienced manager with no international experience. He would be a poor appointment. The FA will arrogantly not look at previous mistakes and make the same ones again. Ashworth will be looking at someone who will support him (Hodgson virtually appointed him in his role because they worked at WBA), rather than the best man for the job. I wouldn't trust the FA to run a bath, let alone the oldest Football Association in the world.
  10. I reckon we'll go for Gueye.
  11. Clasie was very good for us after his settling in period. Madness to write him off.
  12. Dan Jarvis is the man to lead Labour out of the wilderness.
  13. It would appear that Stevie Wonder does kit design for UA. Horrendous kit, on a par with the Pony one.
  14. Bon chance Claude.
  15. Apparently Puel has rented a house in Woolston.
  16. Read a link that Puel likes to play with 2 up front.
  17. Neville is a coaching leper now, a bit of a Phil 'yes boss' Neal.
  18. When it comes to betting then, there must be some out there worse than me. And that's saying something! Bookies dream.
  19. Like a couple of clues on 3-2-1. Is it Dusty Bin?
  20. Why on earth are De Boer's odds coming in? Not anything significant but why would anyone bet on him now? Crazy.
  21. No way is he worth what they're paying.
  22. I feel really annoyed with Les at the moment. He always redeems himself though. Would like him to resign Morgan and Ox just to cheer me up.
  23. I can't argue with that. It just feels like a Russian Roulette policy. Why the term bed-wetter? I'll still go to games and get behind the team for 90 minutes no matter what. Fed up of being labelled by terms like that just because I don't agree 100% with the way the club is run.
  24. I must have imagined Blair saying the result may have to be revisited and Heseltine calling for another referendum. I'll suck it up all day long. The best result for our country.
  25. You make an excellent point, and one that I hadn't considered.
