Tadic frustrates the hell out of me. Often takes an extra touch rather than being a little more direct. But he is a player that can make things happen. Clasie last week was head and shoulders our best player, although that's not saying much. Like you say, it all looks tactical.

Classes the only player to come out with any credit. Our passing was poor, set pieces were poor, full-backs were poor. Worst performance by Long in a Saints shirt, and why Tadic has to take an extra touch all the time is beyond me. Bloody international breaks are a pain in the arse. Pelle looked like he wanted a yellow at the end, a deliberate handball and then kicking the ball away.

I see the dynamics of player movements in the Premier League changing from next season. The huge increase in TV revenue could easily give Saints the opportunity to offer big wages to keep star players. I know they will still get more from Champions League clubs, but the thought of trying to build something here, getting a game every week, and earning more money they could ever spend, they might be more persuaded to stay. You might also get a good few more fringe players at top clubs pushing for moves just to get a game. There will certainly be less Scott Sinclairs and Jack Rodwells.

Seems totally unsuited to our football. But to be fair, even world class players have needed a year to settle. Give him a season before writing him off.
