I like the Queen as head of state. She's only a figurehead, and is relatively cheap compared to some elected heads of state. True democracy would be better served by abolishing the House of Lords rather than the monarchy.

Absolutely spot on. While everyone in the pub was moaning about Jagielka, and the three men around the bloke who crossed for Uruguay's first goal, I was apoplectic with rage at Gerrard's powder puff challenge in the middle of the park that preceded that.

I have every sympathy with Henderson, who was obviously told to stay behind the ball at all times. I am also disappointed that Lambert wasn't brought on until the 89th minute. The players were absolute sh*te tonight, so were the tactics! and so was the manager. Going forward, I wouldn't give another cap to Johnson, Gerrard, Rooney or Baines, and I would be looking for a manager who isn't sh*t scared of losing, or upsetting his paymasters.

Looks like Rooney down the middle and Sterling wide. I would give it until half-time, if it's not working, Roy has to make some very brave calls.
