  1. I agree with much of what you say. However, I do think Wigan at home was winnable. I know it was in August, but it's like your trying to pretend the game didn't happen.
  2. I would agree with you. But his defiant interview on South Today suggests to me that he thinks he is doing things right. I hope he is. We'll find out on Sunday.
  3. I like the 4-2-3-1. We create plenty of chances from it, but defensively, it is imperative that the 2 defensive midfielders give protection to the whole back 4. It is should also be more like a 4-5-1 when we don't have the ball. We need to press the ball better.
  4. The whole team doesn't look particularly organised when we are defending. More holes on the pitch than Swiss cheese. I reckon we need to be better drilled on the training pitch.
  5. I've just seen Adkins interviewed on SouthToday. Apparently we're good at home, and away we're going to attack in the hope that we win 4 games. Absolute madness in my opinion. Very simplistic and not good enough. It looks like we're going to continue making the same mistakes through the whole season. To be honest, I couldn't really believe what I was hearing.
  6. Anyone from that Arsenal back line back in the day would do us very nicely. However, at this moment in time it could be construed as undermining the manager.
  7. The course has been specifically set up for the long bombers. Missing fairways doesn't really matter on that Mickey Mouse set up. It's really exciting, but it's not proper golf. Teams have won from a 10-6 deficit before. But I can't see it today. Stranger things have happened though. Mayber Poulter yesterday is the inspiration the team needs. He was unbelievable.
  8. Stick some pencils up your nose Dalek. The men in white coats won't be far away.
  9. I reckon the 4-2-3-1 with Chaplow on the right would have given us a more solid look defensively than what we had. With the players we had out, it looked odd having Jos on the bench.
  10. NC will have a few people in his ear, but he is very much his own man. Adkins seems to be getting a fair crack of the whip, which is only right. But as you say, Cortese will do what is right for the football club. He definitely wouldn't get rid of Adkins unless he had someone better lined up. Hopefully, a decent run of results, and all this talk will be put to bed.
  11. Yes, I think with the injuries we had, this wouldn't have been a bad move. He's played there before, is quick, decent in the tackle, and a good passer. I'm not saying that should be his position, but he's probably the nearest we had to Morgan yesterday. Would be interested in your alternatives.
  12. I'm not saying he should be first-choice. But as a squad member, he should be picked in his natural position when injuries dictate.
  13. With my best hindsight glasses on, how about this: Gazza Richardson, Fonte, Jos, Clyne Davis, Yoshida, Chaplow, Ramirez, Lallana, Lambert Bit more balance, a bit more defensive-minded, and players playing in positions they are comfortable in (Yoshida was a defensive midfielder originally). I feel really sorry for Rodriguez, continually being asked to play out of position, and taking pelters when he doesn't play well.
  14. He was half decent for us last season before his injury. Big deep squads take time to assemble. In a year or two's time, we'll hopefully have a few of the now youngsters more than ready to play. Ward-Prowse, for example, will be a great player.
  15. Under the guidance of the grossly out of his depth Steve Wigley.
  16. I didn't realise Punch ws injured. Shame has he has played well this season. We did have the option of putting Yoshida in Morgan's defensive midfielder role, to protect what would have been Jos and Fonte. Rodriguez is an out and out centre-forward. There is absolutely no point playing him anywhere else, which is perfectly obvious based on performances this season. That was a mistake, and a case of square pegs and round holes. If you want to play a certain formation, but injuries dictate you can't, then change the formation. This is where I take issue with him. Chaplow would have been a better option than young Ward-Prowse, to what was obviously going to be a hard physical battle away from home. Please don't read this as a sack the manager post, it's not. Just my opinion as I see it. And as you say, it is easy to sit behind a keyboard and say these things. Especially with the luxury of hindsight.
  17. Are you Terry McCann from Minder?
  18. I admire everyone's loyalty, and the support for Nigel was absolutely superb last week. ...But, whilst I am not saying 'sack the manager', he has made some alarming blunders this season, and dropping Puncheon to the bench today was another. I am worried that the win last week was just papering over the cracks. We certainly need to improve all over the pitch next week.
  19. Just seen Simpson spin one from the 'rough'. Joke of a course.
  20. Golf course with no rough is an absolute joke.
  21. The ignore option is pointless if you keep quoting trolls like alpine. Please stop.
  22. Don't know. I haven't called him a racist, I just think he's a c*nt.
  23. Lawro does have a point about our vulnerability. But we may have remedied that with a new keeper, centre-back and the dropping of our left back, who is woefully out of form.
  24. Terry used the colour of a man's skin in a derogatory term. If he had just called him a f*cking c*nt there wouldn't have been a problem. But he brought the colour of his skin into it too. That is racist in my book. Terry and his apologists are shameless.
