Don't mention it then. I've got my opinion, you've got yours. -
Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks

Redknapp is a fantastic manager who did a fantastic job at Spurs. Would I want him here, no I wouldn't. I don't blame him for our relegation, in fact I don't think many others could have got us to the last day still with a chance of staying up. I don't even blame him for jacking it in. Lowe wouldn't give him the tools to do his job. He sold Crouch for millions, and gave Arry next to f*ck all to somehow get us back up. While in the background he appointed a Rugby coach and a Walter Mitty fantasist who couldn't even get into his cubs team onto his staff. Lowe didn't even respect his manager enough to call him by his Christian name, preferring to use his surname like some public school headmaster. But he went back to that shower of sh*t down the road, rubbing all of our noses in it on the way by saying he was going back to hs 'spiritual home'. I wouldn't blame Cortese for making a hard nosed business decision, and I would continue supporting my club, but it just wouldn't feel right. -
From what I've seen of Ramirez, he is class. I would rather build a side around him. We wouldn't have swapped Le Tissier, would we?

If Boruc is match-fit and training well, Adkins has a difficult choice to make. If he's not, then stick with Gazza.

I can't see QPR parking the bus, like Swansea appeared to do yesterday (especially in the 2nd half). Might suit us a little better.
-
I agree, I hope it's not another false dawn. But at least we can go into the QPR game with a bit of confidence.
-
It was an improved performance (which is the least we could have expected). Cork made a difference, and Shaw played well. Ramirez showed at times what a great player he's going to be. As others have said though, it was against a very average Swansea. Next week is make or break for Nigel. Hopefully the team can build on that performance and get another manager sacked next week rather than ours.

Academic Study on the Effect of Changing Football Manager

I don't think Wigley was appointed under those circumstances. -
I thought Cork was excellent yesterday. Shaw looked good as well, and I'm glad that someone has praised Fox for his contribution. The team, for the most part defended well. The team still need to get used to Ramirez, quite a few times he was ignored despite being in space. My optimism from yesterday is tempered by the fact that Swansea were poor. But, from admittedly a very low benchmark it was an improvement.

It's also something that Kelvin used to do a lot, putting his defenders under pressure with some daft passes. If in doubt, blast it forward and push your defence up.

I definitely agree that Adkins shouldn't be sacked unless we are able to appoint the right replacement. -

True, appointing poor coaches out of their depth is never a good idea. Ball, Strachan and Hoddle were not out of their depth and were not inexperienced, the three you mention were. -
We definitely looked more solid yesterday, but to be fair Swansea never really committed a lot of men forward. Very disappointed not to have beaten them.

Ball, Hoddle, Strachan. That is all. -
So you think Adkins is a liar? Anyway, I'm going out now, couple of beers before the game. I suggest you do the same, Mr Troll.
-
Turkish, go out and have a few beers. Better fun than trolling on the interweb.
-
Too true. Adkins tells us every week that he is responsible for picking the team and how they play. The rest is just some media campaign against Cortese (who is far from perfect) by people with axes to grind.
-
More than the feudal, baseless speculation I'm getting at the moment.
-
Sorry, but where is the evidence that he's telling the manager who to pick?
-
If he's got evidence that Cortese is running the club badly, why doesn't he just come out and say it, rather than pathetically use his mate. If Cortese is running the club poorly, we all want to know about it.
-
I admit nothing of the sort. If you bothered to read what I posted earlier: He has made mistakes, but I don't think he tells Adkins who to pick.
-
I wonder if a certain fellow Soccer Saturday pundit influenced Merson? It's doing the club no favours. If it's true, what sort of man does that make Adkins? Certainly not a strong one.
-
No, just because I think they would do better than Adkins, does not mean I want them in. There are plenty of other managers about, who I rate higher than those 2. Do you understand now?
-
Sorry, I wasn't talking about the programme sellers. I have every sympathy for them and the way they've been treated.
