Occurred to me on Saturday, Saints get a late winner at Millwall and we’re all elated in our competitive league where we can win matches. Bournemouth lose 6-1 at Man City. No great surprise just a routine tonking for a lower table club v one of the top three. That is the league we’re trying to get back to, earn the right to get stuffed by City etc. Of course had Millwall scored first rather than hit the bar, we wouldn’t have been so keen on our league. Thanks for explaining the connection. Always wonder about appointments being parachuted in and whether it’s the manager or board appointment and how it will pan out. With that background it may well be RM’s option. Certainly good to have someone with his experience behind the scenes, as I don’t think many of the coaches RM brought with him are that experienced as coaches or players. Saw Calderwood play a few times for Swindon and rated him then. Interviews since he’s come across as a decent bloke. Could be a shrewd move. Pleased with it.
