They’d both lose.
-
Why do they come out with such bollocks ?
-
Totally agree about the recruitment side of things, although not sure how culpable Ralph is as these things seem to be by Recruitment Dept rather than manager. We’ll have to agree to disagree about the Semmens/Gao regime then. I think they set the tone for what was to come, although worse with SR once in the driving seat. The Semmens comment of ‘ league position doesn’t matter’ stands out to me as an epitaph to his work at the club, undoing any achievement of what had gone before it.

Stop press: Franz Ferdinand found alive and well. First World War a mistake. (1980’s jokes. Youngsters will have no idea what Stop Press is)
-
Wish the club would come clean about plans to leave the Antelope. Won’t be the same if we leave it.
-
Have to hope Bazunu has one his ‘moments’ today and brings it home to Still what a liability he is.
-
Edwards was a player I was hoping we’d see start the season after the reports from QPR.
-
Possibly a selective memory or interpretation of things there about Gao. He didn’t put any £ into the club or wasn’t able due to restrictions in China. Semmens was in charge of things during our ill fated Summer 2022 window when we signed some crap and spent weeks it seems chasing Gakpo’s shadow. We didn’t of course provide Ralph with the striker he needed. Although Semmems was praised for his handling of - and talking about - Covid impact, it seems he was at his best during a period we weren’t playing. Wasn’t it Semmens who said the league position doesn’t matter ? His poor handling was magnified after the cretin Rasmus arrived, but Semmens has contributed a lot to our fall.

Have to wonder if this is part of the problem, and the lack of stability. No wonder he wants to escape the madhouse that we've become. He must feel its impossible to reach anywhere near his potential here. Of course the agent will be driving the question over money but having a manager (in the Lawrie mold) who the player wants to play for, and is respected and trusted would help immensely.
-
You’d like to think not. Perhaps waiting for the main target ? (Armenian bloke?). Certainly hope we don’t see the falling down the list and quality that we’ve previously seen. But similarly we can’t end up in a Gakpo position of waiting until deadline day on an unrealistic target.
-
He said they had three positions targeted ahead of any sales. You can’t blame them for trying to identify and target specific players they want rather than signing three just for the sake of it. Can only assume the MF they’re after has declined, gone elsewhere or his club won’t sell yet. No point signing another Elyo- fucking - noussi if our preferred option isn’t available.

Has it been said who will be on the panel ? -

Are you Martin Semmens in disguise ? -
I didn’t specifically mention the media in my comments but was referring to how it had generally been handled including - at the time - at Anfield. Agree with you over tv coverage going on a bit. Did they only show the meaningless friendly of Preston v Liverpool due to this sad event ? As well as the shirt retiring, are we now going to have a 20th minute tribute every week for evermore now from Liverpool?

Good question. I’d also add that with the waiting list how far advanced are the proposals for stadium expansion and when will it be ready ? Is it time to dust off the plans for the ‘Cortese Dome’ ? -
Take out the ‘high pressing system’ and that could have been written by Branfoot about MLT. Would like him to stay for at least a season, it could benefit him tremendously. But if he is going to fuck off then for me £35-40m should be the starting point, plus healthy add ons.

Don't forget: Ask about the women's team, and how Still can energise Saints on the back of the Lionesses (?) success How can we embrace more diversity, and be more welcoming to away fans especially Give the panel opportunity to tell us how great Bazunu is and they wouldn't swap him for any other keeper in the history of Association Football. -
Aaron Ramsdale - Official: Loaned to Newcastle

Seeing those nmaes listed out, you have to wonder why we're where we are. Perhaps they just weighed down by the other shit. -
Many of those remaining players are widely regarded as crap and among those most would like to see go. Fair point re Trollope although I remain of the view I’d rather the manager had experience of this league. I know you don’t agree with that view so no need to reply !
-
If and when Fernandes leaves, then hope it’s for Athletico Madrid or Juventus rather than Forest or West Ham. (Providing the £ is right of course). I’m surprised Man Utd aren’t in for him given the Amorim link.
-
Rather like us in L1 when we signed the best striker in the division. Unfortunately we now lack the common sense, and what you might describe as local knowledge of the division we’re in. Hayden Hackney, or a previously unheard of 19 year old Bosnian MF ? You know where our focus will be. Suggest on here that ideally we’d be better off with a manager and players who know the challenges of the league we’re in, and it’s rapidly dismissed.
-
Yes it does seem like it. So far it doesn’t seem like the ‘reset’ we’d hoped for. And if we start the season with Bazunu then it seems we’ve gone backwards. Again.

On the topic of Saints next transfer target: “nah, guv, leave ‘im he’s not worfff it ..”

Just as bad, probably worse..
