  1. Four pages in, and has anyone as yet mentioned the disgraceful "looks like a wotsit" chant at the MK Dons player a few years ago ? If we are seeking opportunities to express outrage on behalf of others, may I bag that disgraceful outburst of taking the **** over a curly haired ginger player. Historians and older supporters will tell you that one of our best CB performances came from a curly haired ginger Scots bloke in the 1976 Cup Final, Jim Steele. Doubt any of the "snowflake generation" would have called Jim a "wotsit" to his face. (Although being the 1970's Peter Osgood got away with calling him a "freckle" in those un-pc days).
  2. Remember that night. Tony Funnell scored for us if I recall. Good atmosphere with the travelling support.
  3. For this reason I'd only want to replace MP at this stage if we have the replacement that we want signed up. This should have been the strategy with Puel but of course it wasn't and we end up with someone who was probably well down the list when it was first drawn up, if he was on it at all at that point.
  4. Exeter or Forest Green Rovers away would be good, although create a scramble for tickets. I was in Nailsworth the other week, and really wonder how it would cope with a large crowd arriving for a match.
  5. Relegation under Lawrie after about five months in charge was pretty disappointing at the time, and many were calling for his head the following season. Branfoot, and more recently Gray & Wigley were pretty poor from the outset, but none came good.
  6. Time will tell but I suspect his decision might be more likely linked to a hope he can take over from Les when he retires.
  7. Pep, this amazing young talent could be yours for not less than £30m.
  8. Stretching the imagination a bit with Long & Redmond up front if you ask me but you're entitle to your opinion.
  9. Excellent result, although can't get carried away with it given how woeful Everton are looking, but we still had to manage to put the ball in the goal which has alluded us in most games. Wonder if Pellegrino is now on the Everton wishlist.
  10. Do the BBC employ a photographer especially to locate this spaz before a match :
  11. Morgan & Gueye start for Everton. I'd expect them to have more bite and creativity in midfield than us where we look a bit lightweight (as ever).
  12. The only thing I've read(on here I think) claiming any insight was after the Man Utd when someone said Nelly was appeared switched on and they appeared optimistic from that. I'm hoping the quiet means she is taking stock of the situation before acting. Hope it's that rather than an indifference or just not having a clue.
  13. Bar
  14. Seems to be making a comeback now with 14.23% voting stay. I suspect many of those votes are based on not trusting the club's appointment of a successor.
  15. Over to the Instagram generation then ...
  16. Has been suggested on here that Gareth Rogers did....
  17. Just seen someone (northernsaint0) has posted something on Nelly Gao's Instgram asking her to sack the management. https://www.instagram.com/p/BaohajbgFam/?taken-by=ivanajewelry That's it sorted then. Interesting he puts a 0 after his name, expect Nelly will come to see this as an English custom having been getting used to Southampton0 featuring regularly in reading material about the club.
  18. I'm indifferent to whether Reed stays or not, and agree many have overlooked his part in our rise. Unfortunately I think Les began to believe his own publicity, which coupled with him being a PR disaster most summers, I'd certainly like to see his role clipped back a bit with another in charge of CEO duties for the footballing side of things, and an upgrade in the recruitment role whether Paul Mitchell (who I suspect is living on a charmed and fabled reputation, although signings have certainly plummeted over the past couple of years) or another.
  19. It's purely conjecture and we'll never know but I'm not convinced Poch would have declined Levy's £££ even with NC here. But thats another hypothetical debate. Agree with you though that NC would not have allowed the current malaise to fester as it has, and Black for one would not have been recruited. The only problem with those wishing NC to return is that if he wasn't prepared to work for Kat then he is unlikely to want to work for and be answerable to Gao.
  20. Sad thing is, most agreed with you and saw it standing out like the proverbial dogs b0ll0cks, but it still happened.
  21. Poor article, possibly stating the obvious that Gao is unhappy with results. But Gao has attended one match to my knowledge so not sure where he will have analysed our failings from, unless it is weekly updates from Les (who will no doubt identify all manner of issues apart from the manager and his ownp!ss poor selections). I suppose in the next week or so (especially if we don't beat Everton) we'll see just how keen an interest in the playing side of things Gao & Nelly will take.
  22. Looked very casual in approaching that and not staying in position But that is FF at his best, he'll make blocks but not saves, using any part of his anatomy other than his hands. This has been his way even at his best.
  23. Might be a few interesting views in here: https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?58924-Where-did-it-start-going-wrong#.WhCeXlVl-Uk In truth can't disagree with any of the points you've raised.
  24. What's Sir Clive up to these days ?
  25. Add Redmond to that list as well. I said last season that Tadic, Boufal & Redmond should not be on the pitch at the same time, and we've done nothing to change it or improve upon them. We're far too weak with those lightweight F^ckers.
