  1. Probably the name on everyones lips after another failure to score. Just wonder if he'd pass the profiling test refered to on another thread. Perhaps theres a reason we've not jumped in to try signing him, apart from the £15m QPR want.
  2. Just for the record, and so we can return to this again in a few years after JWP has been sold for £25m , do you think JWP is better now, or will be in the future, than Paul Wotton in his prime ?
  3. Perhaps he was... until the end of October.
  4. Who do you regard as our creative midfielders ? Juanmi I regard as a striker, Davis is pretty ineffective, and that leaves Tadic, who despite his reputation as king of assists seems to be living off the reputation in Holland and the first few months of last season.
  5. He might of course re-evaluate that after today, Thursday, and of course Everton at home.
  6. I'm not sure the signing of Wijnaldum or Clasie needed to have been an either/or. Unless of course the club told Ronald there was a limit on the number of countrymen he could sign, a sort of Dutch Cap if you like.
  7. Agree with you, that we need to spend in the areas you suggest, but also that it won't happen. Go on Les, prove us wrong.
  8. An away point is always welcome, but Watford are a side we should expect to beat if we've got serious ambitions of top ten again. Defensively we may have improved today, but from what I've seen we still lack creativity going forward, and a serious goalscoring threat. Mane is probably our most likely goalscorer it seems, although his attemps at Newcastle in the last minute, and possibly his one on one v Everton (at 0-0) could have given two extra pints at least. Going off injured today didn't help our cause, neither did having Long as his replacement. Its the lack of a serious goal threat that concerns me more than todays result. I don't expect Rodriguez to turn into a 20 goal a season player no matter how good his link up play (with Lambert & Lallana) used to be.
  9. That's my take on it as well. I don't blame Cork for leaving, and understand his reasons for doing so. It is all too simplistic to say it was his decision and outside the club's control. It was clear to all that Morgan would want out this summer after his publicised strop last August. Had Cork been offered a contract at the same time as Fonte, then we might have had a chance of securing him, to leave it dangling for months as we did was enough to convince him his future was best elsewhere. Poor handling of the situation in my view.
  10. You're not seriously suggesting the nice Mr Levy or anyone working at Tottenham would use deceiptful and underhand measures by 'leaking' something to London journalist contacts are you ?
  11. I don't believe the article, other than its an extension of the 'known' liklihood that VW won't sign a new contract and the club are likely to sell next summer. As for the comment "not appreciated", that is probably b0ll0cks, other than perhaps in VW's mind he thinks he should be lauded and held in the same esteem as Schneiderlin. Except he's nowhere near the player MS was for us last season, having been with us for the previous 6 seasons to increase the adulation from supporters. Without MS alongside him I agree, but really this should be his opportunity to take over. Remember Alan Ball's analogy, when the flag bearer goes down, its up to somebody else to pick it up and march with it. But of course the modern player - and their agent - just wants to f^ck off for another mega pay day somewhere else.
  12. Agree the French ref did have a good game, playing the advantage a few times, and on one occasion not forgetting to book someone after he'd waived play on.
  13. No great surprise to be honest. But the profiling amuses me a bit. The prospect of the 'panel' including Les Reed opening a dossier on him, and asking what the profilers have come up with. "Well. his name is Johnjo ffs.." , followed by a pause for thought and then a Katie Hopkins type response of "well I certainly wouldn't want my kids playing with him..". "Next ?".
  14. RK has just had an operation, and prowling the technical area on crutches might be beyond him. At least for now that is something I'm contenting myself with.
  15. No thanks. Club policy should be to avoid any dealings or dialogue with spurs.
  16. British
  17. Phil Boyer also went to Man City from our era as well.
  18. If we wanted the player I expect we'd spend big to get him, we spent £12m on Long for Christ sake.
  19. Plus the possibility, that recent performances by VVD may not be up to his usual standard. As we said about Clyne after he was linked with Man Utd last season, his performances drppoed off. Perhaps in the case of VVD he is currently going through the motions, to use a regular phrase from on here perhaps "his head is elswhere" already.
  20. We might get by with a hamstring as she can prop herself against the tea trolley and hobble. Our luck would be a broken wrist, in which case people will end up having to get their own...
  21. She'll probably be alright until October, then the tea will be a lot weaker for a few weeks before she goes missing for a few months and it'll never be the same when she returns after Christmas.
  22. Bristol City bidding £9m for a player with only one season of Championship experience http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33974678 When you see that, its not surprising WBA reject £15m for Berahino. But it also makes you think how ridiculous it has become.
  23. The internal face of the walls are part of the building. Would you regard the ceiling as part of your "contents" ?
  24. As Clasie currently has in leg in plaster, I would hope he is. Apart from that, are you really suggesting he is a better option than a fit Clasie, who has played at the WC finals for Holland ?
  25. Mods, Paypal informs me that subscription paid. Can you please reinstate full service as currently reduced to three posts, and p!ssed off with adverts appearing. Sorry to clutter the board, but PM's not currently available (If this looks familiar it probably is, as previous problems in earlier years)
