Does a new manager improve the teams chances of survival?
Badger replied to Pilchards's topic in The Saints
Remember the Wigley , then 'Burley effects'.... Agreed, should have been the final straw. -
Because we can't.

Didn't this ring any alarm bells Les ?

Breaking News....Officially in a relegation battle
Badger replied to davefoggy's topic in The Saints
Wonder what Les Reed's response to this is. Will he take his head out of his anus and act, or will it be more of the same f^ckwitttery that has brought us into this position. -
Unless a five month cameo with us could be seen as an audition for one of the big 6. But no , can't see it happening.
-
Their GK was rumoured to be looking to go out on loan - Trapp - but would ahve thought he'd have more attractive options open to him.
-
No prizes for guessing when he'll score his first goal for them then and who the opposition will be.
-
No wonder Les seems to dither on transfers and managerial appointments, most of the day is spent guffawing at some of the stuff written on here.
-
Largely due to managerial failings though
-
I think Les has been rumbled now. Initial thought is that I can't see us splashing £25-30m on a player, or one that sits within that price bracket being prepared to sign for us. Dutch international. Hope he doesn't share an agent with RK and VD though.
-
Difference being that we were quite optimistic over what Skacel would bring if he signed.

That link seems to have died.

Fact is most people would like to see some focus on what is happening at St Mary's & Staplewood at a time when things are in a steady decline and no sign of direction or leadership at the club. Most of the comments made are in jest, but our current state of flux does give something to moan about.
-
Are you sure that's a fans group rather than our new board of directors ? New team manager even ?
-
So Walcott, despite being linked has gone elsewhere. What a surprise. I didn't vote initially and still believe he deserves credit for his part in our rise, but this is wearing thin. That's Toby, Koeman, last January's CB, the appointment of a decent manager last summer, the continued employment of this bloke, and not bringing in Walcott after being widely linked. Whilst there are other factors contributing to these failings, the one constant is the avuncular Les Reed, ably assisted by his pocket-jock apprentice for the last eighteen months.

Nice one Les.
-
I know the point you're making, but the truth is we'd like to see some transparency, but there is no entitlement to it or need for it to be provided. Providing the owner is not infringing any laws regarding ownership then he is entitled to do as he sees fit, he is not answerable to the supporters, and the only two 'shareholders' are the Gao's & KL.
-
That's four players required. I'd add a GK as well, making it five. Can't see Les suddenly being that active can you? We've taken half the transfer window not to sign anybody leaving the Master Ditherer a fortnight to achieve it. And we haven't sacked the hapless manager in that time either.
-
(3) Why are you so impotent and ineffective during the transfer windows? (4)With the Under 21's relegated & Under 18's being knocked out by a lower status academy, why has everything gone down the sh!t shute under your watch?
-
Not sure Walcott would have been the answer, especially as MP sets the team up, but he is definitely a step up on anyone we currently have. As for where we spend our funds I'd like to see it spent on quality that will improve the team, not just some average journeyman who Pelligrino happens to know, or the 4th best option from Les' list.
-
Another glowing success under Les.
-
No absolutely not, although I suspect that NC might have taken us that route had KL not sought to rein him in.
-
Reminded me more of Ian Branfoot and his "Southampton can't afford to live in the same street as Leeds Utd and our supporters have got to realise it". Seems nothing has changed since 1992.
-
wasn't he meant to be injured ? Which could of course mean he's on his way.
