  2. Yes, we could of course sign 4 great players, Classie might be one and I'd look forrward to that. On the other hand we could spend £12m on a bit of a journeyman who runs around a lot, shows plenty of huff and puff but whose scoring record is poor, along with a Serbian international who flatters to deceive for about 8 games before becoming tiried and out of form.
  3. Can Burnley claim to have 'produced' Ings though, having signed him from Bournemouth ? I think age might be the difference between these two and 'out of contract' compensation.

    "Stonewall"

Does it make a difference if the "stonewall" penalty, they're talikng about is "early doors" or not ? Another phrase that pundits have given to the vocabulary is "doable" .
  5. Hope the Yanks are prepared to enter a frenzied bidding war as they'll probably be up against Mr Cortese and his friend Dalian Wanda.

  7. Wasn't this done in 2008 for Rupert ? Novel the first time but no longer.

  9. Yes, was joking.
  10. Disagree.Never met him but Weston seems a decent bloke based on his posts.
  11. Just seen his celebration on ITN news after he scored a tap in today, forgot about his ridiculous beard. Its only when he plays for someone else you appreciate what a feeble spastic he looks when flaying his arms around.
  12. Tottingham without a doubt. Can't disagree with any of the above reasons for wanting to beat them, but the yids have managed to overtake them by some distance. Have had a loathing of spurs for some years (old Division 2 days,Rosthental, El Spiv as manager, rooking us over Ruddock at a tribunal,Hoddle, Bale, Forecast, 'Arry etc) but Poch has raised it to a new level. My son even said the other day that he prefers the skates to them.
  13. Not for the full 90 minutes he won't.
  14. Usual standard of literacy in skatesmouth.
  15. I suppose it entirely depends on what the template is to begin with. If the Ajax shirt were the template, then fine. If on the other hand its a template for Bristol City, and pub teams then I think we have been undersold.
  16. That is my main hope for the season also, qualifying for the CL would be a tremendous achievement, although I think we're unlikely to make it. Just hoping neither of those two take one of the places.
  17. According to the BBC match stats, WBA had 17 shots today, scoring 4 of them. We had 21 shots on Wednesday... We all know where the problem lies, simply not taking chances.
  18. Lets hope it does not compromise the design or style. The previous Adidas offerings have been abortions of a Saints shirt, but so far that has been blamed on NC.
  19. This is the most significant factor, and a result of the modern all seater staduim. Sitting in the Northam/Kingsland areas with my sons and every game the seats around us are still filling as the teams take to the pitch. I've often gone off down the grumpy old bast^rd route and explained to the lads how this differs from 'when I was their age',people used to queue to get into the ground even on all ticket matches because they needed to get to their preferred viewing place on the terrace in order to get a decent view. And of course there was an atmosphere with people wanting to sing and make a noise.
  20. flange ... thats a new one on me.

  22. Hope it works out for him. Wonder if we'll offer Jack Stephens a new contract, who is also on loan at Swindon, and a player their fans rate more highly.
  23. Totally agree,it was quite frustrating watching us last season at times. For all the matches we dominated we'd often not convert that into goals, just as this season trying to make an extra pass. Lallana was not the only offender though, Rodriguez was another who would often try passing it into goal from outside the box.For all he brings to the team in helping the build up, Rodriguez is not a prolific goalscorer that we need.He would often need 4 or 5 chances before scoring 1. Yes it would be good to have him back, and he is a better goal threat than Long, but he's not the out and out taker of chances that some people are hoping for. (Not that I expect him to be back this season). If Seagar is scoring at U21 level, perhaps he might have been worth a gamble for the last 5-10 minutes, especially when there's a space on the bench available
