  1. Bias aside, it probably isn't a sideways move though is it ? Who do you think have the more realistic prospects of a top four finish us, or them ? Reed should just issue a Lowe type announcement .."we're not doing business with North London yobbos".
  2. Agree, it's been done to death, and worn by just about every team at some stage where needed as an away kit (just add that to stop some pedant telling us neither Norwich or Watford have used it as an away kit),and it has become a yawn. That said, I have liked some of the variations, such as the L1 navy with yellow top section, but yellow shirts, blue shorts - no thanks.
  3. Hope he's a better "prospect" than our last signing from Molde who was also linked with a move to Merseyside for some time before jumped in ahead of them and 'snapped him up'.
  4. Think you should change that to: Andy Murray is the only thing to happen to Scottish sport in many a decade.... (curling aside of course). Agreed.Tried to warm to him after the Olympics etc, but can't take to the miserable c^nt.
  5. He'll be hovering again won't he ? Telling the media what a 'triffic job Eddie has done, and how he (Redknapp) will go and watch them play, 'cos they're his local team....a fantastic team to watch, and a "proper football club" (where have we heard that before? ), and offfering any 'experience he can ' (if they want to make use of his 30 plus years experience, top clubs, blah blah..) in any way he can...
  6. only if he wants to be here.
  7. Not sure Elia has done enough to warrant being retained, and doubt he'd want to be a squad player, wasn't that the reason for him being ****ed off at his last club ? Gaston ? How many more "last chances" does he need ? If we can recoup something on him this summer then I expect we'll want to take the cash.
  8. cola
  9. Misread that on skim reading it as: Blimey, that's a tad unexpected but well deserved. Shane Long is in there too
  10. Tremendous achievement by him, and it must embawass Woy over his selections recently. Just goes to prove what an astute signing this was, proving many of the doubters (myself included) wrong. Sell Shaw for £27m, replace him with a player for c£10m, tremendous bit of business.
  11. ending
  12. ...or Lee Trundle
  13. BBC site says: Are we ?

  16. Just seen on BBC that Thomas Tuchel will replace Klopp at Dortmund. He was a name that was mentioned on here in the summer as a possible replacement, although he had taken a year out. So, if RK does ... no it doesn't bear thinking about... but Tuchel won't be in the frame. (If there is one.. which of course there won't). But back to Klopp, wonder if he's looking a little more attractive to L/pool tonight.
  17. Assuming Classie doesn't meet the peoples physical prototype for a CM perhaps they should start a petition calling for the club to sign Lee Catermole instead.
  18. Don't want Scousehampton to win the cup, and will be satisfied with Aresenal beating them in the final, but for those rooting for them to fail today, just bear in mind the reverse side of that is the c^nt Sherwood taking the accolades for Villa's turnaround in fortunes.
  19. Bit of a contradiction there, as we're unlikely to have "secured the deal" if the fee has yet to be agreed. The players might have agreed via their agents, an interest in signing for Saints (&Koeman in particular), but without the clubs agreeing a fee, it is far from a done deal.
  20. Suited to a wing back role that RK briefly introduced then ?
  21. Not altogether dismissing the Phillips connection, as said above we've been monitoring him since Wycombe. Be interesting though if he lines up with Tadic, both highly rated in assists. Not sure we're short in the creativity stakes already. All we neeed though is someone to convert the chances.
  22. Quite a refreshing read, and with the exception of probably two posts, pretty objective and informed stuff. They obviously don't read our Forum though or they'd be aware its a fluke where we are in the table 'cos many of our players are considered sh!t.
  23. Agree, he'd arrive with a sulk and it'd probably go downhill from there, until we loan him out. Austin or INgs would be the preference, but it seems Ings might want to stay warming benches up north (according to one or two on here). Thought it was £4m , not cheap deal between two Championship clubs at the time.
  24. I think its poor that Messi uses the press in this way in order to sound out a move to Saints. I think we all get annoyed when the press advetise Clyne or Morgan's desire to play elswehere so same code applies to Messi. Anyway, sure many on here will agree he's overrated. Okay he scores a few goals - in an inferior league - but apart from that he probably does not play with the same energy and run around as much as Shame Long, and will cost four times as much.
  25. Or one from the Championship perhaps ? Byram for instance.
