  1. I don't necessarily disagree with you, and the comparison between what has recently been accepted, and what SCW tried to implement has not been lost on me. Irony that Cortese has received widespread praise for his part in this, and Lowe roundly condemned. The change in attitude is partly due to a more scientific approach to football, but also in how it is presented, (plus being done at time we are progressing as opposed to when we could ill afford it, or not at all.). I doubt this will universally accepted without some mockery, although had it been NC's brainchild his 'journo-lackies' would have lapped it up as a masterstroke. I'll reserve judgement and wait to see if this happens, and how this fits into the picture, and what the blokes remit is.
  2. Wasn't that from a Jim Steele error ? If its the game & goal I'm thinking of. But another contender, from that game is the referee, Rudi Gloekner from recollection, not giving a definite penalty at an important stage of the game.
  3. Probably the winner, marginally shading Rupert.
  4. As I said earlier, SCW Mk II
  5. Adrian Heath's mother should have had an abortion.
  6. So, thinking ahead KL is looking to relaunch Southampton Vikings ?
  7. Our new manager ? Or consultant coach - a new SCW episode in our history ?
  8. How strange, I thought he'd grown a 'full set' to appear on the opposite channel:
  9. I think he's hedging his bets, as he probably said on Saturday that Poch was leaving, now this. Either way, he can now claim to have "told you so" when the dust settles.
  10. yes, I can see them dividing some of the responsibility rather than leaving one person dictating every direction.
  11. That's why I'd see him as a head of operations perhaps rather than a CEO who would be dealing with the corporate side, which might still involve more of an 'international' aspect.
  12. So, any update for us out of towners, from the hotel near Winchester ? I assume some of you are staking it out in the best traditions of old SaintsForever type of fashion.
  13. I think Williams would make an excellent head of operations from all that I've read about him.
  14. Slight worry though is this picture of John Williams Could not be related to ... ,,,could he ? if so I think we should be told. (As they used to say in Private Eye),
  15. Of the names mentioned on here, Purslow, Llambias, and Williams, then John Williams seems by far to be the 'safest pair of hands' with less controversy in his background. Doubt the being local will count too much for the KL or the panel interviewing though, and unfortunately at 62 they might not consider this a 'dynamic' enough appointment. Much depends on the short or long term intentions of KL.
  16. Is this one of them ? Mere mention of the name, and the image just haunts me !!
  17. Initial googling suggests to me tax consultants, possibly auditors.
  18. Christ, why do the government spend millions on GCHQ, when you can unravel a mystery by google ?. Well done chaps, that does look like serious googling on your part.
  19. Are you sure it wasn't Kronenbourg, Hofmeister , and a Glenfiddich ?
  20. Not sure there is "evidence" either way really. Just a case of Chinese whispers if you ask me.
  21. He probably spoke to Dalian Wanda in person !!!! or so he might claim.
  22. Think it was covered on this thread: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?43418-Forgive&highlight=John+Bailey#.UtvCGbBFD4g
  23. I know very little about Derek Llambias but the interesting thing reading about him (Wikipedia as one source) it appears that he was unpopular amongst the fan base whilst at Newcastle, in the same way as Purslow at Liverpool, although there are conflicting comments about Purslow of course.
  24. earlobe alert at the ready.
  25. Think it was a few of them as I recall, Tommac & Helpmerhondda spring immediately to mind. Perhaps there were a consortium of them. Must be a collective noun for a group of imposters on a m.board, a "b^ll**** of imposters" perhaps ?
