  1. Found this after someone posted a link re Djuricic http://outsideoftheboot.com/2015/01/27/scout-report-harrison-reed/
  2. What have Feyenoord done to deserve that ?
  3. Latvian Michael Owen ?
  4. infidelity
  5. Disappointed he's left, but understand his reasons. Always seemed a 'team' player, and a good one to have in the dressing room. Amongst his contributions on the pitch,I think he was an integral part of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gvOhEhD6SQ Southampton FC - the greatest curling team the (football) world has ever seen. Wish him well at Swansea.
  6. Agree. Think we might very well regret this next season, when as expected we lose a couple of other players.
  7. Thankfully we won't have to, although ITV had already made that decision for us ahead of today's announcement.
  8. This is key for me, Cork should certainly be retained as we plan for next season knowing that we will lose at least one of our key mf players. For all the hype about JWP and Reed, Cork remains a more reliable if unspectacular option.
  9. I was there. One of the epic days of following Saints.
  10. But even during his 'peak' form at SC Heerenveen he scored 20 goals in 99 appearances, just under 1 goal in 5 matches. Long was doubted when he joined as his record was c 1 in 4. If we do sign this Durex fella, then it won't be for his scoring record alone. Looks a decent prospect - albeit on youtube - and I'll bow to Feyenoord's knowledge of him, but he is not going to be a stand in for Pelle if we're looking for a like for like. Agree, need another centre forward type, not all nifty footwork ( "all fart and no sh!t " as someone posted on here once).

  12. Cork
  13. Colin Kazim -Richards ?
  14. Probably from me and young badger cursing about the game.... even the dog knows how bad it was to lose at home to Palace in the FA Cup.
  15. All in all a f'kin thoroughly miserable day. Inept performances, gifting Palace acres, if not the Freedom of Southampton, to roam at will too often.Taking the lead twice, I thought we'd get a grip of the game and control it.But no, just ballsed it up. I've been inclined to give the GK the benefit of the doubt in the face of some of the critiscim on here in the past, but he contributed to our downfall in style today. The first one, Fraser Forecast should have held, and for the third, I can't imagine an average player like Chaw^nkmah or whatever his name is, just waltzing around Shilton nor Niemi with such ease. At £10m this is the standard of keeper he should be aspiring to. That said he was not alone in blame for that, Elia was dozing to needlessly allow them to take possession, and it should have been cleared before the final ball. Tadic was pretty anonymous for much of the match, Elia as well for much of the first half. JWP's shooting.... Christ on a bike, how can he deliver a good dead ball from time to time but constantly ballooon it from the edge of the box. Defence often all at sea. Then Longs injury. A34 closed on the way back up to Newbury as well.
  16. In my book we've needed an extra striker since August. Pelle is largely out on his own, and we need a greater goalm threat up front as we all know Longs record is preety poor. We need a striker who can make adifference, and actually score goals. Not easy to find and not cheap.
  17. Unless of course the prospective purchaser meets some of the folowing criteria: Desperate In need of a boost to enhance their league position etc Have a plague of injuries to contend with. Any team spring to mind ? Actually, I doubt we'll be trying to sign him in January, but stranger moves have materialised before.
  18. he deserves a better club than Millwall.
  19. Would not have made the front cover under Cortese's watch...
  20. Didn't realise we had so many members of the Temperance Society following us.
  21. Fonte will mark him out of the game. Interesting. (But as KelvinsRightGlove says - he'll probably be on loan to them).
  22. Can't see him & Austin hitting it off, as both would want to be top dog. Another potential training ground bust up for'arry to cope with.
  23. In a Range Rover after dark, and their offices are closed.....without his current club knowing anything about it. Couldn't happen again could it ?
  24. Depends where he ends up, I thought Norwich would have been a good fit for him, but they've opted for an unheard of Scots bloke. Wigan ? Could be good there, or at Forest, Sheff Weds I wouldn't bet against it, but if he ends up at the Doncasters of this world then no, like many 'promising' managers he'll fall back into the mid-stream, and wonder what might have been.

    Yellow Shirt

I can only recall that yellow shirt being worn once, away to Arsenal (perhaps like yesaterdays). Strange as at the same time we had that awful blue ('radical blue flame effct' I think it was called) effort, so I'm sure the yellow would have outsold it.
