Any striker? I doubt if timing will be down to us. What sort of agent would agree terms with us and then not hawk their man around? I’d imagine the only striker that’ll rush to put pen to paper in time for Everton, will be pony that nobody else is interested in.

Ings is pretty unrealistic. We’ll need Emery to decide already that he’s no future at Villa and be willing to loan him out. We’d need Ralph to be the reason he left in the first place, and he’d want to come back under a different manager . Finally, we'd need no other club to be interested, because even other sides having a poor season like Leicester or West Ham, look a better bet than us.

We haven’t played “good football “ for about 18 months….
-
It’s strange how “friends” always back the posters opinion. “I was talking to someone” amazingly they agreed with me 😂 I met a Luton supporter last night and he reckons Sidney is making things up…..
-
And only 2 points above the most woeful saints team I’ve ever seen in the top flight. The rest of the league must be fucking unbelievable
-
I couldn’t give a shiny about the “successful” youth teams, I don’t see much of a pathway to the first team or us producing any first team players. The “new approach “ can hardly be any worse than the old one. The mentality at the club is just not tough enough, we’re soft as shite from top to bottom. The Saints way, it’s just a load of old pony. If the new approach instills some backbone into the club, I'm all for it.

I can’t believe they’re ripping up the impressive tactics that worked so well this past year. Tactics that have us in the top 90 of the pyramid form table. Shocking.
-
Is that the same Ralph that lost to a woeful Villa prior to Emery?
-
It’s 2023 FFS.
-
They’ve a far far better squad than us, and he’s a step up from Ralph. We were only level with them because of SG uselessness. When they were absolute pony, we still never got near them earlier in the season.
-
What on earth are you on about. Situations, as in the bloke was offside? Offside wasn’t implemented for offsides 😂
-
Has Jones got different players?
-
It took Fat Sam 6 games to get a win with WBA, and he was highly experienced in relegation battles by that time. There’s not much difference between how hopeless they were and us.

The first team haven’t become a shambles overnight, it’s been the whole calendar year. No matter what happens from here, Ralph left a demotivated, weak as piss, mentally weak squad of sub standard players. It’s a pretty poor legacy after nearly 4 years in charge.
-
Exactly. Maybe this “3 at the back won’t work” pony comes about because the previous management didn’t drill it properly and didn’t implement it properly. From my point of view Salisu, ABK & DCC are 3 of our better players, in some respects I’d even say they were our best 3 players. I’d want them all in the team. We’re just not good enough for one of these 3 to be on the bench. It’s the managers job to get a system where our best 11 are on the pitch, we’re just not good enough beyond that. The problem is teams have been able to pick us apart because our midfield is fucking woeful at getting near them. Give premier league players time on the ball and they’ll kill you. Personally, I’d play a back 5 with the fullbacks playing as full backs, not wing backs as the issue is our centre halves getting exposed down the flanks as a back 3. I’d then play a diamond in midfield, with Lavia and Prowse as the tips and Adams up top alone.

Ralph wasn’t “hounded out” at all. If anything the majority of supporters gave him too much time. Always making excuses for him, the strangest being it “wasn’t his team”. You’re right about the rest though. Writing off the new manager so early is pathetic , particularly as this clearly isn’t “his team”. The “I want to be entertained” nods, didn’t want Claude, a guy who knew how to set up a side based on its limitations. The fact some still bang on about entertainment, some leave early, and some sit there like “customers” sums up a large minority of our support.
-
have you seen our record in the first game of the season the past 20 fucking years? All after the managers had weeks to “get their ideas across”. Ralph had weeks to “get his ideas over” in the summer and the 2nd half performance at Spurs was easily as bad as Brighton. And that was 3 years into his spell, not 3 games. Some of the posts on here are pathetic. We were going down with Ralph, we’re probably going down with this bloke, but it’s been 3 games FFS (1 of those he only had a couple of days and most modern managers would have sat that one out). Let’s see the structure and performances of his side after the window “slams shut” before piling in on him.

Do you really think the Chelsea rumours came out of thin air? You can bet your life he’s agreed to go there and bet your life his “injury “ record will be poor until he does.
-
Remember, it’s still his team until 2025…….
-
I’d have played Lavia & OR and let Golden Boy go.
-
He had one 12 yards from goal and still didn’t net.
-
I don’t think there’s another team’s supporters who when asked “were you at the 9-0” reply…….which one?

Why should we listen to Stoke fans. They’re not exactly experts when it comes to managerial decisions They eventually pulled clear and finished in 13th place but some supporters had lost faith with the direct style of play and lack of goals, which were a common thread during the club's time in the Premier League under Pulis. Coates was aware that there was an "anti-Pulis element" from the moment that he brought the Welshman back to the club in 2006, but he refused to be swayed by fan opinion and his faith was rewarded. Stoke won promotion by finishing second in the Championship in 2008 and went on to retain their Premier League status in five successive seasons, finishing no lower than 14th. They also reached the FA Cup final in 2011, losing 1-0 to Manchester City, which secured a place in the Europa League, where they progressed to the knockout stage. Matthew Etherington, the Stoke winger, said: "I think the manager did a great job at the club. I know the fans were grumbling and saying they wanted a change and it looks like they have been granted their wish. I also think people have to be careful what they wish for.
