It’s not that unusual for the captain or senior pros to get involved. Its normally a sign of a healthy dressing room. In this case it appears to be spun as the reason we played better. It seems the shite against Brighton & Forest was Jones’ too own, but he had help from Prowse when we won.
-
Why give him the credit? Djenepo Probably gave the half time team talk.
-
His win rate in the cups is 100% it mathematically cannot get better.
-
Bet it won’t. It’ll be down to the fans telling him the footballs shit, a players revolt or Prowse delivering the team talk.

You’ve backed up the exact point I made. Jones has proved himself a fine championship manager. A level far higher than Doswell has played or managed at. Instead of saying he’s a championship manger trying to manage in the Premier league, he’s non league or Sunday league. All of a sudden Doswell is a peer. It’s nonsense, he’s a pretty successful championship manager whose been given a chance to step up a level. 40 years ago it would have been considered normal.
-
It wasn’t criticism of performances, he was “out of his depth”. If anyone is out of their depth it’s clearly The non league manager in his fledgling punditry career. Because he’s made a cock of himself it’s now a “fan” talking. It wasn’t spun like that, it was a “peer” who happened to be a fan. Solent and plenty on here we’re claiming that made it more “damning”. Some of us called it out as classless at the time, and regardless of last night it will remain so. A peer wouldn’t have come out with such pony and any fan who thinks Lyanco couldn’t get in the Havant side clearly lacks credibility.

Fucking laughable. The only thing turning on him so early achieved was made some people look like twats. We even had a couple of posters hoping we lost Saturday to hasten his demise. Even now it’s all, “fair play but he’s listened to us” from some supporters, and “I don’t like him, he was horrible about us” from others. All he should be entitled to is a fair crack of the whip, he hasn’t got one. Read the first few pages of this thread, in December FFS.
-
Yes, it was spun as a “peer” of Jones’, a fellow manager telling it as it is. Some of the posters on here lapped it up, as if Doswell is suddenly the go to pundit. It was classless from him and classless from Blackmore to leave some of the pony he spouted unchallenged. Both should feel like chumps this morning.

😂 It really wasn’t. God we’ve got some right drama queens.
-
He played full back for most of the game, with 2 centre halves.
-
We need to get hold of the 2 centre halves at Havant, they must be some players if they’d keep Lyanco out of that side.
-
We went to a back 5 the last quarter tonight and the best striker in the country couldn’t get a sniff. There’s so much pony been written about jones, back 5 & “hoofball” on this thread it’s laughable. Now people are crying that he’s a “decisive figure”, and some are even trying to make out the criticism somehow contributed to the turnaround tonight.

Saints 2-0 Man City - The Treble is STILL on!
Lord Duckhunter replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
Lyanco, fuck me he’s got some bollocks. To play like he has tonight & Sat after his horrendous performance last week really shows character. That’s why Jones likes him.- 954 replies

This result should buy him a bit of time, and release a bit of pressure. I’ve read countless posts where people have called him a twat, passive aggressive, chest thumping clown etc. but his reaction at the end was pretty classy imo, personally, I’d have given some of you the old Harvey Smith. Then called Blackmore a fat chump in my post match interview. Deserves credit for setting up the team properly & installing a bit of fight in the players. Long long way to go, but the bloke deserves this result tonight.

This is what I’d do. I’d make The Chapel safe standing, I’d move the family section to the Kingsland end of the Northam. I’d then make block one hideously expensive so if any muppets want to go next to the away fans and throw abuse, they’ll pay a premium for it. I’d then vigorously enforce regulations when policing the away end. If they persist in standing, then that club will have their allocation reduced the following season, same with swearing or general twatery towards our family section and throwing of flares. If they sit there quietly they’ll get a bigger allocation next time. If they take off their tops they’ll get a 2 year ban (chicks excluded) and if they urinate on the seats or ring a bell, they’ll get a life ban.

Was Pelle a skate? He was getting clog from a section of our supporters at Anfield on his debut.
-
McCarthy let’s a few in that he should be saving, but Baz let’s some in that my mum should be saving.
-
Calm down, I think it was a piss take…..

The worst planks are the ones that text Solent after the game. The ones that only listen to the radio commentary, and then comment, should be told to fuck off, and the Noddy’s who text immediately after attending the game should be banned from the stadium forthwith.

Been stealing a living the past 2 years. That said, at his peak he was one of the top 10 British players in my lifetime. Some oldies will say John Charles, but probably the greatest Taff.

Get back in your wheelchair, pissed up old fool.

Is that why Ralph ended up with Lyanco, Adam Armstrong & Baz in nets. A better manager would have got better than them?

You’re pushing it if you think any replacement will get any say in recruitment. It’ll either be a rushed internal appointment (Selles?), or a protracted negotiation with a Dyche type figure. It would literally mean tearing up our plans and starting again, I just don’t see that happening in 3 weeks or less. Its really hard to separate the wheat from the chaff when it comes to analysis of Jones’ start. There’s a lot of legitimate concerns but also a pile on with some complete and utter pony written and broadcast. The hatred towards him is ridiculous & in some numpties eyes he can do no right. (Reminds me of Mrs Thatchers quote that some people seeing her walking on the Thames would shout “see, she can’t even swim”). He hasn’t made a great start, but deserves a bit longer imo.
