  1. Ok, I get it. Saints managers of the modern era who got close to or above a 40% win rate had similar profile: 1. They’ve all played internationals 2. They’ve all had ginger hair. 3. They’ve all had a brother called Erwin Jones out!
  2. Who did Claude play international football for?
  3. Who did Alan Pardew & Nigel Adkins play international level for?
  4. When Shilts was 12?
  5. I would hope he’d worked that out himself without the need to be told.
  6. Dear God, 💤
  7. I watched ITV because Jenas is a twat, Linekar is a smug twat & Rio isn’t particularly good. Dixon is pretty hopeless but McCoist is the best around and Keane is great although I’m not too sure about his Billy Connelly look. I’m also didn’t see the point of the two birds they cut to, ticking a box I guess. They added nothing to th3 discussion.
  8. Well deserved Fair play trophy awarded to England. Gareth Wokegate will be buzzing, May even have half a shandy in celebration.
  9. Great substitutions from the French,
  10. I think it’s only the guards they want to replace. I believe they’re still promising a bod on the train, but the driver will be responsible for operating the doors. SW Railway won the franchise because they promised to abolish guards, but they gave in after a couple of years of disputes. I imagine the plan was to roll it out across the country as soon as each franchise was up for renewal. I seriously doubt there will be any attempt for a number of years now, but the RMT will play it up to gain sympathy from mugs like Soggy.
  11. He’s clearly got the best record since Sir Alf, but I’m not sure he’s the man to finally get us over the line. Croatia were a decent side in ‘18 but the game was there to be won.He seemed to lose control of the game and was reactive rather than proactive. The big miss was the Euro final, home game against Italy who aren’t t that good (missed out on WC), again his in game management was questionable. France are a good side, bit unlucky going out to them, a real 50/50 game. Would a top top manager have made the difference in those games (particularly the final), I’d say they would have. Whether we can get a top top manager in, is the question. Would Saints fans rather have a bloke from Luton, or the England manager is questionable. It really shouldn’t be.
  12. Another meeting of minds. Strange that he only meets/speaks to people who back his opinions up 😂
  13. The problem is absolutely shocking management. My snap dragon earns a fortune working bank shifts in addition to her contract. Shifts that come about because of horrendous rostering/sickness levels/ lack of permanent staff. Senior management are fucking clueless and there’s always a last minute panic to fill gaps, they just throw monetary incentives around to get people in. It’s been going on for years, some of her colleagues have reduced their NHS contract in order to do bank shifts. No matter how many times they announce that no incentives will be paid, a week with no volunteers and they soon crumble. The SD won’t do any extra unless it attracts incentive, so just sits back until they give in and start paying it again. There doesn’t appear to be any accountability or budgets around agency costs & OT. In the private sector I have to use OT & occasionally agency, but my line manager is all over it like a rash. Any manager that uses it long term won’t be in a job for long. Therefore, it seems too simplistic to say “if we used less agency/bank then we can recruit new staff and pay existing ones more”. It really seems beyond senior management to implement this and therefore I’ve no doubt that we’d end up bunging existing staff more dosh and still not cutting back on agency usage. Other trusts maybe different, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
  14. Nobody wants to pay any more tax. Some people pretend they are willing to do so, whilst the rest are more honest about it.
  15. That’s where the mask slipped and the true Soggy came out.
  16. What’s a “would be” immigrant? Sounds like another dodgy term Nick Griffin would use to describe a foreigner residing outside of the uk. “See that African bloke there, he’s a would be immigrant “.
  17. I once confronted a white bloke who called black people coconuts, “them”, and also called an English born chick an immigrant because she wasn’t white. Does that count?
  18. Do you still visit the boozer? To give up I’d have to have a complete lifestyle change, take up a hobby & ditch my mates.
  19. Bit like the left use “Racist”then?
  20. I try not to drink in the week or at home and try to limit the number of times I’m totally polluted . Been told recently that I have slightly elevated liver enzymes, so I suppose I should cut back even more, but it’s not that easy. It’s not that I’m a bar fly, but I love Ale Houses & social drinking. I need a bevy to have a crack.
  21. What makes you think he’s capable of getting us over the line? Tony Adams is a loon, but he’s got it right on this subject. 'They’re all nice people in the England camp. Gareth Southgate’s lovely, Stevie Holland is wonderful, Chris Powell is a beautiful man. 'But they need an experienced, serial winner around the place.‘ “Well done England, jolly good defeat, keep your heads high. 'This is the mentality we have to change.’ “he’s a good loser. It’s hard to say that but it’s the truth.'
  22. Southgate allegedly said “we needed Winston Churchill & got Iain Duncan Smith” when discussing Sven’s half time team talk at the ‘02 quarter final. Well this time we needed Sir Alex and got Oli. At 1-1 they were there for the taking, that’s the time changes should have been made, not after they’d re-established their lead. Sterling coming on was bizarre and only giving Grealish a minute pointless. It’s also pretty unbelievable that Madison never got a minute during the whole tournament. Like him or not, he’d been flying in the premier league, certainly more so than Sterling or Mount. Whilst he’s got the best record since Sir Alf & has done a difficult job pretty well. The moments that matter have escaped us. He’s top quality for his man management skills and creating an environment where players want to play for their country, and he mainly picks the right sides to start with, but his in game management is not at the top level. In all 3 defeats (Croatia, Italy & France) we’ve controlled a lot of the game, the fact we haven’t taken advantage of that, haven’t got over line, is too much of a coincidence to be bad luck.
  23. Or perhaps she was nervous because she knows she’s not there on merit.
  24. Imagine if Merson had said “19 goals in 40 games, do the math, goal a game”.
