Not a great fan, but do feel sorry for the guy. Been close a couple of times, but has gone a bit stale this season. This time last year he may have got in, but he really is off colour at the wrong time. It can be a harsh game sometimes.

Haven’t got a clue about the bloke, but I want British managers who do well in the championship to have a pathway to the premier league. Hopefully he’ll do ok and other clubs will start to realise there are some decent managers & tacticians at the lower level that deserve a chance. Big opportunity for the guy, and a big gamble by the hierarchy, let’s hope it pays off.

Do you want Nathan Jones to Manage Southampton Football Club?
Lord Duckhunter replied to Rivers's topic in The Saints
Dear God If that was the case surely they’d keep Ralph, thus saving paying him off and not having to pay Luton compo. -
What sort of noddy holds a season ticket at another club, especially when it’s not that far away from the team you “support”. Your opinion should therefore be placed in the pony bag.

Driving home from the game Sunday I heard Blackmore address this. Says he chucked the name out there a couple of weeks ago as a personal choice, and some mugs on Twitter have run with it. Went out of his way to say it was just his opinion based on absolutely nothing.

You’ve spent all season telling us Ralph didn’t sign the players, now you’re saying Jones did at Stoke. Based on what, your knowledge of Stoke City’s transfer policy 😂. Consistent as ever.

Good.

To be fair to Tella, he was probably fucked after playing for Burnley the day before.
-
So do I, we haven’t won a game since he left.

I thought Bally did a great job for us. Sensible choice.

I’m waiting for the meltdown on here when Bournemouth appoint Bielsa.

If football clubs listened to supporters Claudio Ranieri wouldn’t have ended up at Leicester.

Alan Ball was a World Cup winner, one of the best players of his generation, but the city players pretty much took the piss out of him from day 1. This respect stuff is a load of old pony. If he runs decent sessions, is a good man manager and is tactically aware players will play for him. End of. He’s got a “pre season” coming up with most of them, time to get his ideas over and get some positivity around the club. Writing him off before he’s even met the players is ridiculous.

On the face of it, it’s not a particularly exciting appointment. But I haven’t a clue what the blokes like, and I doubt many of the critics have either. Somebody at the club has clearly identified him as a good fit, so let’s hope they’re right. There’s nothing wrong with his failure at Stoke, provided he’s learnt from it and become a better manager as a result of it. Sometimes failure teaches you more about yourself than success. Another god botherer Davie Moyes has put poor spells at clubs behind him and done a decent job afterwards. The lack of top flight experience could be any issue, but I don’t see our lads as the “show us your medals” type of professionals. If he puts a few decent sessions on and is tactically intelligent, I’m sure they’ll buy into him. It’s a big chance for the bloke, let’s hope he takes it and in a couple of years time we’re calling him a disloyal twat when he fucks off to a bigger club.

What about his team & performance against Leicester in the semi final? The attitude that day was pathetic.
-
Does he fuck off down the tunnel when they lose?
-
As opposed to mincing around with it going absolutely nowhere, until giving it away. And they’re all ITK. Fucking place must be as leaky as our defence.
-
When was their first go?

“Important figure” my arse. Hanging around for longer than other duds doesn’t make you an “important “ figure. Shows the noddy mentality at the club and within the fan base if anyone believes this pony. He inherited a shit show and has left behind a shit show.

Saints 1-4 Newcastle - Match Thread
Lord Duckhunter replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Typical Ralphball. Easy risk free passing, mincing about, and generally flattering to deceive. “Had Moi scored, had Che scored” blah blah blah. Had they both scored, I’d bet my life we’d still have lost, probably 5-3 or similar. I wouldn’t turn the radio on Thursday lunchtime if I was JWP. -
How can “money no object” come with the caveat “within reason”. It’s either money no object, or a budget.

This is a pretty decent article. Basically, they’re fucked going into the next presidential elections with Biden, Harris will be as bad & The GOP are also fucked because of The Donald. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-11392027/ANDREW-NEIL-Republicans-poised-victory-midterms-huge-political-crisis-beckons.html

Why are they so “desperate “ to get away from France?

Spot on. We also didn’t turn off the printing press’ early enough & didn’t raise interest rates quickly enough. Had we locked down longer, we’d have been in an even worse situation. Labour can tinker around the edges with wealth & windfall taxes, but they’ll be in the same straight jacket if they form the next government. The markets will view unfunded spending increases the same why it viewed unfunded tax cuts.
