Some of us are interested in what egg gives a monkeys about.

It’s strange isn’t it. They do it for a well established ladies competition. A competition that doesn’t need the hype,as it’s a well respected proper female sport.
-
Nail hit firmly on head. I presume it’s the same sport because we have birds analysing the game because they’ve played it, we have a Saints ladies thread on the main board, goal scoring records are compared and success is measured against the blokes. Yet when the woeful standard, fitness levels & attendances are mentioned (that’s not even start on the goalkeepers)all of a sudden it’s a different sport. As you rightly point out, it’s either a shocking level of football or it’s a newish sport that gets way too much exposure than it should.

The 50 years of TMS radio programme started with some bird commentator shouting “England have won the World Cup , England have won the World Cup”, like a demented fisherwoman as the chicks won. That was it, the first piece of commentary reliving TMS’ greatest cricketing moments wasn’t John Arlott, wasn’t Bothams ashes, Lakers 10 wickets or Bradmans duck in his last test match, it was something 95% of cricket fans didn’t even know had happened.

Major honour 😂

We don’t want to play them over 2 legs or in a final and at least it’s at home. It’s a free hit, so you never know.

There’s been a pathway for young girls to play football for over 20 years, way before the present hype. My 22 year old daughter played, & each of my 3 boys played with girls until a certain age (can’t remember which age it was). It’s been “normalised” for years (the only thing that’s not normal is the coverage given to a sub standard sport), look at crowds around the country, there’s never been a higher percentage of them attending football. It’s got nothing to do with chick “role models” or the hype, and everything to do with the gentrification of the game & the modernisation of the facilities. For every girl that this Beth women inspired to ask Santa for boots, bloke players inspired hundreds and hundreds more. She completely deluded to come out with the statement she did and if Nathan Redmond claimed he’d inspired little boys to put boots down on his Santa Xmas list, the piss would be taken.

Fuck me, 2 games, one of which came a couple of days after he started and the other in a cup that nobody takes seriously until later rounds.
-
The statement was pony, not the sentiment. There won’t be hardly any little girls asking for football boots because of the chick game. You’ll see from the pathetic attendances that the chick euros won’t make a blind bit of difference to young girls love of the game. The mens game drives their interest and participation.

Ok, I get it. Saints managers of the modern era who got close to or above a 40% win rate had similar profile: 1. They’ve all played internationals 2. They’ve all had ginger hair. 3. They’ve all had a brother called Erwin Jones out!
-
Who did Claude play international football for?
-
Who did Alan Pardew & Nigel Adkins play international level for?

When Shilts was 12?

I would hope he’d worked that out himself without the need to be told.

I watched ITV because Jenas is a twat, Linekar is a smug twat & Rio isn’t particularly good. Dixon is pretty hopeless but McCoist is the best around and Keane is great although I’m not too sure about his Billy Connelly look. I’m also didn’t see the point of the two birds they cut to, ticking a box I guess. They added nothing to th3 discussion.

Well deserved Fair play trophy awarded to England. Gareth Wokegate will be buzzing, May even have half a shandy in celebration.

Great substitutions from the French,

I think it’s only the guards they want to replace. I believe they’re still promising a bod on the train, but the driver will be responsible for operating the doors. SW Railway won the franchise because they promised to abolish guards, but they gave in after a couple of years of disputes. I imagine the plan was to roll it out across the country as soon as each franchise was up for renewal. I seriously doubt there will be any attempt for a number of years now, but the RMT will play it up to gain sympathy from mugs like Soggy.

He’s clearly got the best record since Sir Alf, but I’m not sure he’s the man to finally get us over the line. Croatia were a decent side in ‘18 but the game was there to be won.He seemed to lose control of the game and was reactive rather than proactive. The big miss was the Euro final, home game against Italy who aren’t t that good (missed out on WC), again his in game management was questionable. France are a good side, bit unlucky going out to them, a real 50/50 game. Would a top top manager have made the difference in those games (particularly the final), I’d say they would have. Whether we can get a top top manager in, is the question. Would Saints fans rather have a bloke from Luton, or the England manager is questionable. It really shouldn’t be.

The problem is absolutely shocking management. My snap dragon earns a fortune working bank shifts in addition to her contract. Shifts that come about because of horrendous rostering/sickness levels/ lack of permanent staff. Senior management are fucking clueless and there’s always a last minute panic to fill gaps, they just throw monetary incentives around to get people in. It’s been going on for years, some of her colleagues have reduced their NHS contract in order to do bank shifts. No matter how many times they announce that no incentives will be paid, a week with no volunteers and they soon crumble. The SD won’t do any extra unless it attracts incentive, so just sits back until they give in and start paying it again. There doesn’t appear to be any accountability or budgets around agency costs & OT. In the private sector I have to use OT & occasionally agency, but my line manager is all over it like a rash. Any manager that uses it long term won’t be in a job for long. Therefore, it seems too simplistic to say “if we used less agency/bank then we can recruit new staff and pay existing ones more”. It really seems beyond senior management to implement this and therefore I’ve no doubt that we’d end up bunging existing staff more dosh and still not cutting back on agency usage. Other trusts maybe different, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Nobody wants to pay any more tax. Some people pretend they are willing to do so, whilst the rest are more honest about it.

That’s where the mask slipped and the true Soggy came out.
