  1. The tv deal gave them first choice of semi final.
  2. What’s Prowse’s career record overall. Because until recently he was hardly banging them in. The debate is pointless anyway because Prowse wouldn’t be taking free kicks in a decent side, he’d be sat on his arse with the stiffs.
  3. I’d sell him before he gets found out. Emperors new clothes if you ask me. Not a patch on Victor or Morgan, he’s in the Cork /PEH bag. Too one paced, safe, weak and polite to be a top top player. Good son-in law, but until we have special teams ala American football wont be more than a mid table player.
  4. They are about to trail this, it’s been delayed because of Covid, but is back on agenda. AI will track each player and offside will instantly buzz on an officials monitor, as it does with goal line at the moment.
  5. How does it work if there’s a free kick on the edge of the area. The attacking team could put 8 players in the 6 yard box.
  6. Does anyone know the 2 time slots, are they set already. For example SF1 will be Sat 5pm, SF 2 will be sun 4pm, or do they decide later when they pick the matches
  7. When will we know KO time & date?
  8. The difference in fitness, skill level, diet, pitches , rules and even the ball, make it seem like a different game. When I was 18 I played a couple of seasons with Dave Jones (ex Norwich & famous for the “handball” in a Wales/Scotland World Cup qualifier). He reckoned the first tackle was always a freebie, and that was accepted by everyone, he even claimed that if you didn’t clog the centre forward early doors, you were considered “soft”. He also said the forwards first one was also free, and that they we’re as tough as any centre half. He always said he preferred playing against Mavericks like Rodney Marsh, because although they’d make you look stupid once or twice a game, it was easier than being constantly battered by the other type of centre forwards around at the time. He reckoned Dalgliesh was the hardest opponent he played against because he’d do both , make you look stupid and smash you given half a chance.
  9. Personally, I think the modern players are far far more skilful than in the past. Centre halves now bring the ball down and play, whereas it was only a handful previously. Look at OR and contrast him with tough tackling midfielders in the past. He receives the ball in tight spaces, plays little passes and keeps possession. Up front they’re pretty much all skilful, full of tricks, flicks etc. That famous Worthington goal could of been scored by a dozen forward players nowadays. The great players you mentioned had fantastic skills, but most modern players possess them nowadays, and in a game played a lot quicker. However, there were massive differences back then, which is why these types were so loved. One was they did it despite the culture. A culture that discouraged fancy Dan’s and managers that were anti fancy tricks (except for a few notable exceptions). They also did it with heavy footballs, defenders committing GBH on them, and on mud heap pitches. They also lived a lads life off the pitch, they were glamorous Jack the lads, rock stars when rock stars acted like rock stars, not woke warriors.
  10. Sad news, such a great entertainer and player. My mates a Huddersfield supporter and Frank is his absolute hero, he’ll be in bits tonight. Guys like Frank, Rodney Marsh, Tony Currie, Stan Bowles and of course Bestie, made the 70’s such a great period to watch the game. To watch them take the piss whilst suffering tackles that bordered on GBH,was a sight to behold. Then off down the discotheque to pull a few birds. Great days...
  11. Do you still believe in Father Christmas?
  12. Can you get it on iTunes (or whatever it is now), or do you need to download app
  13. The snap dragon has her second one next week, so fingers crossed.
  14. We’ve beaten them since. To do a palace we needed Utd.
  15. It’s on... Provide Utd buck up...
  16. Correct. It’s the play station hipster generation I’m afraid. All stats and “support strikers”. When they score their goals and how many they miss, is just as important as bare stats. He’s not a bad player, but that wasn’t the argument. It was whether he’s produced a “good” return, I don’t think he has and his lack of quality is a contributing factor in our average season.
  17. Awful miss against Brighton
  18. What a load of Pony. Ings drops deep just as many times as Che when the play together and when Ings doesn’t play, Adams is the main man up there. What’s the obsession with stats, they’re for play stations. Wingers should be getting 9-11 goals a season, not strikers (whether support ones or not). Bringing it back to Redmond, that’s where he lets himself down. He should be aiming for double figures, his finishes yesterday shows he’s got the potential to do that.
  19. They were in the third division thou.
  20. What’s a “support” forward. Some sort of play station position? Or just an position invented to cover up a players lack of goals.
  21. A good return? You're either taking the piss or you’ve got pretty low standards. He’s been average.
  22. This is pony. He’s been a better singing than Boufal or Austin, and probably Long. It’s way too early to judge Adams and I assume you’re joking when comparing Obafemi. Why do you think he’s played so many minutes? Is it because he’s fuvking rubbish, or is it because 4 different managers see something in him?
