  1. Because JWP positional play at full back cost us against Villa.
  2. Ings should have buried one of those chances, and the game changes
  3. Fucking Stephens should have finished that sitter.
  4. It was stephens fault, he should have shown for the pass, and then ran quicker to get on the end of Ings’ miscontrol
  5. I know stephens is the scapegoat, but blaming him for the goal is fucking ridiculous
  6. Bednarek fails to make a tackle, and it’s Stephens fault?
  7. God, and there’s a bird.
  8. No he didn’t.
  9. 99% of neutrals couldn’t give a shiny shite whether he dived against Southampton, whether it’s 6-0, 12-0 or 0-0. You’re deluding yourself.
  10. Going to the ale house and standing at the bar.
  11. Nothing has happened to it. It has never applied to offside.
  12. Are Arsenal a big club?
  13. I thought about demanding a written apology every time Shane long missed a chance, but then I thought about my poor postman’s workload and gave up on the idea.
  14. Every single thread about VAR always ends up with the same call, that it’s only horrendous errors that are overruled and that there should be some sort of cricket style “umpires call”. That’s what happened here, VAR decided it wasn’t a clear and obvious error, so didn’t ask him the review the decision. It doesn’t mean VAR didn’t think it wasn’t a pen, it’s that he didn’t think it was a clear and obvious error. Had Dean not given it , I doubt he’d have told him to review it either. The fuck up is entirely Mike Dean’s, not VAR, had he not given it and waited to see if VAR thought it a clear and obvious error, he went the other way. I suspect at 6-0 most referees would have turned a blind eye, but that’s Dean for you. He likes to “see” things mere mortals miss.
  15. Correct. Some of the people on here need to have a word with themselves. It was a young man who let the situation get the better of him, he was probably hyped up too much, wanted to impose himself early, and there was probably a little bit of fear in there (sometimes players go over the top to protect themselves). In the cold light of day it seems unfathomable, but these things happen (look at Gazza in the cup final and he was an experienced pro). He deserves some clog, and I hope a couple of the older pros dug him out, but give him a break. Hopefully, he’ll learn from it and come back a better player. He showed the tiny glimpse of a player against Villa, let’s not kill him before his careers even started.
  16. It was a joke, Nobody thinks he’s celebrating a goal.
  17. Dean also made the TV sign before showing the red. I’m pretty sure the TV sign isn’t made if the refs original decision stands. Maybe wrong, but if not, this backs up the theory that the monitor was used for red card decision only.
  18. DGSO is only a red if no attempt is made to play the ball, maybe he was asked to check that. Not saying I agree with the decision, but only checking whether it’s red or yellow makes sense of the still frame. Unless the technology failed, it’s the only explanation.
  19. Somebody (can’t remember who) said Dean was only looking at screen to determine whether it was a red card or not. Therefore he was looking at frozen screen to see who was around/where keeper was etc. They claimed that VAR decided that awarding a pen wasn’t “a clear and obvious error”, so he wasn’t watching footage over & over to decide if it was a pen as that had already been decided, just whether it was red or yellow.
  20. Surely having got stuffed 9 recently they’d go all out to stop it happening again. Yet they just folded, didn’t seem at all bothered by creating that unwanted bit of history. I’ll tell you what, they were lucky there was only 3 minutes extra played, because another 3 or 4 and it would have been 10.
  21. Couldn’t agree more. We need a couple of gypsies to bang a few heads. Too polite....
  22. Too many son in laws again. The senior pros don’t front up when it matters, no on field leadership at all. Horrendous, we need to man up.
