  1. Not many people have a career nowadays, plenty of people have to retrain or change track before they're 40. 70k a year for 15 years then all the all the opportunities in coaching , punditry , ect puts them in a far better place than most blokes . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Nice cop out. Can't state a league position that's too high as everybody will say it's impossible even with Pep as manager, but you can't state a mid table position just in case Puel achieves it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. He's got a great touch and is capable of some sublime play. His performance at home to City was one of the best I've had the pleasure of seeing . But he has some spells when he's woeful as he has been for most of this season. No doubt they'll be a load of pony blaming Puel , but he was the main man, the figure head at the start of the season. It looked like Puel was quite willing to build the team around him , playing him as 10 and bigging him up. The simple fact is he wasn't up to it, didn't produce . It seems he didn't like Ron digging him out , but didn't respond when Puel showed him some love. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. If Juanmi had half a season like Redmond has , there wouldn't have been any criticism of him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Exactly Since the start of the season MOTD have done 2 pieces on him, where their pundits have highlighted what a good player he is. Hector Bellerin has named him as one of his most difficult opponents , putting him in his side alongside Sterling, Courtino & Costa . Yet the experts on here claim he's not even premiership standard. 6. So what is acceptable to you? What position would you consider ok . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. If he did put a request in or if the club made him put it in writing, then great. One thing that ****es me of with the modern player is the lack of a request. They agitate for a move , informally say they're leaving , but won't request a transfer as it'll cost them their " loyalty bonus ". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Don't talk pony man. You can't have players writing "officially" to raise concerns about other players. Doubly so if it's the Skipper , or even the slipper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Thank **** there wasn't Saintsweb around when Larwie ditched Terry Paine and got us relegated. That would have broken the Internet . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Genuine legend, sad as he's last man standing from the league one days. Looking back it may have been better to let him go in the summer when rumours of Utd were about. Perhaps he's stayed half a season too long . Maybe like Rickie , the future will show that the club were right to let him go now. I just hope this isn't turned into a Les/Puel V Jose slugfest, he could have reached the end of the road with our club regardless of who was in charge. Winning the euros and having the agent he does was always going to make a move likely. One last payday, it's a no brainier for him. Let's thank him and give him a great welcome every time he returns. 11. It's not a question of replacing players " who don't like him" because plenty of players dislike plenty of managers. It's a question of getting rid or shutting up the ring leaders, the ones whose negativity will affect the group . If rumours are to be believed ( and this thread is about believe a particular rumour, so allow me to believe another one), then Jose has been acting like a right cock womble. Lawrie had to move Terry Paine on to control things, maybe Puel needs to move Jose & Long on. From my very limited experience I would say that when a new man comes in as many prefer him to the old guy as hate him. Long, Jose and Bertrand may have preferred Koeman , but do Targett, McQueen , JWP , Yoshida and others? If we ditch Puel and then the next guy drops long or Forster ( and frankly neither could complain if he did) . Then do we bin him and get another one in. It's not a mutual society , they don't all get a vote. Puel is not irreplaceable and I've never said he is.He needs time and backing, half a season and we're mid table is not the time to panic and tear up our plans, no good can come of it at all. Some of our supporters think loyalty is a one way street. They spout pony about it but don't really believe in it."Mr Koeman , you disloyal ****, Poch you judas. Puel out". 12. They believe the bad stuff but not that long praised him lol. I've no doubt it was posted in good faith , as despite numerous differences with the op he's never struck me as a pony artist who would make things up. No doubt the person who told him was told in good faith as well. Doesn't make it true though, I've been told things that turned out to be BS but trusted my source and still do. My guess is there probably is an element of truth in it ,players are notorious buck passes, it's not their fault. As somebody pointed out we've been there before , last season & Asshat-gate. IF it is true it's up to the board to be strong and back the manager. We can not allow the lunatics to take over the asylum. They have to dig in and back the manager . Just as our board did 45 odd years ago with Lawrie . Then he moved a legend on and if Puel has to move Jose and one or two others on to restore order he needs to. Christ apart from VvD they're all replaceable. I remember Lawrie saying the chairman said to him " sort it out Mr Manager", and that was it. End of conversation. Reed needs to call Puel and say "sort it out Monsieur Manager" and then back him. Success comes when supporters support, players play and mangers manage. Once you blur the lines and players think they know better than the manager they need to be stamped on or moved on. Whose to say these precious darlings won't be the same when the new bloke comes in and he starts dropping a few, Instead of blaming Puel a look in the mirror is in order. 15. So it's not about the position in the league, just whether you approve of his tactics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Ok, so what league position do you consider par for us this season. Where would we need to finish for you to give Puel another season? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. This time last season we had played them all bar Hull ( obviously in different league) & had scored the grand total of 1 goal . Were you even more alarmed then? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Course he did . Someone he's friendly with & gets on with who speaks French & has knowledge of English game. It's a no brainier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Which is exactly what Puel was brought in for, to improve our younger players . **** me, it takes more than half a season Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I think they were just amazed that Forster saved the initial header Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Be interesting whether Blackburn play him in the cup this weekend Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I always thought it depended on the circumstance. If a player falls off the pitch as part of his natural movement , it would be offside . If he steps off pitch or doesn't come back on after falling off pitch the goal stands . Maybe wrong , but that's my understanding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Nice arse covering. If he's shiete it's because of Hull & if he's good you were right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hector Bellerin named Redmond in his most difficult opponent 11 that he's faced . What does he know though , he only played against him as opposed to posting on a football forum about him . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Exactly. West Brom away Watford away Bournemouth away Palace away West Ham away Norwich away We're games I travelled to and was as bad as anything I've seen this season. Even Villa away was one of the sloppiest defensive performances I've seen for a number of years. When you add the Everton, Villa, Stoke home games and the embarrassing cup exit 6-1 , and the FA cup lasted one home game. The EL was humiliating , the tactics as we went out were a real throwback to Branfoots days. Worse than any tactics employed by Puel . All water under the bridge , but here's my main point. All the above were with Mane& Vic. Two of the leagues best players. I could just about accept people saying " I wanted Koeman out & now I want Puel out". But they won't say that because they were wrong then and it also shows how fickle and knee jerk they are . Instead the wrap it up in "style of play" or " dressing room unrest" or he's " out of his depth". Laughably claiming that they " knew Ron would turn it round". Tactically Bournemouth & West Ham away were as good as anything Ron produced . What we haven't had is the barnstorming home performances, but put Mane in and maybe we would have done so. Surely having a manager genuinely interested in promoting youth and making young players better is a far better way to go then somebody who wants an instant side, to further his career. Who knows we may even get him to hang around a while , rather than bugger off as soon as they receive a better offer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
