Second half Targett actually looked like a full back , won a couple of good one on ones when I was convinced he was squared up and about to be skinned . Right side was great today , Cedric having his best game and shows great promise , get RB in at left back and if Tadic plays like that , we will be dangerous down the flanks . Romeu looked the part , JWP had his best game I've seen . Pelle looks sharp and there's signs JRod is getting there. Jose best game of the season, although Maya is a worry . Things are looking up finally , but typically , we hit a bit of form and there's now no game for 2 weeks Tadic my motm , turned them inside out first half and 2 goals .

Looks like LVG leaving out his unsettled keeper is biting him in the arse . He'd have saved both of them

The only place he's going to make it is as a defensive midfielder . In that respect he did well today , tactically good and played some good passes . Needs to do it when we're up against it to convince me , but he didn' t look like a little boy lost today . Don't get the set piece specialist gig though . Is he the only free kick expert on the premiership ( and all sides have them nowadays ) that doesn't actually score. Interesting comments from stan Collymore in the week , he claims too many modern players are more worried about taking set pieces like Beckham or Ronaldo that they don't get the basic right , the basic being " put it in a dangerous area " . JWP is like that , looks good lining up his corners and free kicks , but how many have an end result?

How did we compare to this great model Everton last season? The season that les got " free control". I presume we were shieye and Everton wonderful.

The first thing to point out is that west brom have been playing without Berahino , so have they handled it particularly well . How many points would they have had he been playing and are their message boards going into meltdown. Secondly if both their players stay against their will. What do they do come Weds ? I'm sure both have an eye on the euros , so they knuckle down and stay in Woys thoughts , throwing their toys out of the pram, refusing to play or playing badly and they can kiss goodbye to England next summer. Are our two in the same boat , will their national teams drop them, is there an Africian cup next summer? Trying to second guess what we should do or comparing us to others is pointless , every situation is different. If Victor played for Everton and stones for us, Victor would have had a tummy upset today and Stones would be facing Norwich tomorrow . IMO

One thing that has always nagged away at me regarding Ron is LVG's assessment of him. LVG claimed that Ron is too soft on players, after last season I put that down to a personality clash and LVG bigging himself up . However there are slight signs that there's some truth in this, are the players fit enough, do they get the hair dryer when needed? Rons style suited us last season, we needed a cool head , we needed a smooth transition and needed to steady the ship. Now we need a few tea cups chucked a few rollockings dished out. Hopefully Ron can upset a few and get a reaction . The players owe us a performance Sunday , not necessarily a result , but a performance that shows they're upset, embarrassed and determined to put yesterday behind them and move on. If we don't get that , then I will start to worry.

I've no doubt that like Mitchell, Poch and assorted players Reed has been tapped up and had offers elsewhere, yet he's remained loyal as they've jumped ship. He's been at the forefront of our achievements the past few years. Yet he can't seem to win on here. If he's to blame now, then he must take the praise for previous years, unless everything good is the players and manager and everything bad is down to him.

So cheap replacements made Jose have his worst game for years , made JWP go backwards , made Targett out of his depth , made JRod give the goal away ?

JWP, Targett, Yoshida, JRod , all awful and all already at club . Very easy to blame newcomers , established players need to look at themselves

How people think JWP is a decent player is beyond me. Poor again, when's he going to get a grip and actually influence a game ? If we are going to hoof, then let's get long on for jrod. Needed a goal to go through , so nothing's changed .
