  1. Anyone would think we were mid table and went on a reading type run when we signed Billy. The fact is we limped over the line and his tap ins helped ,mind you , any half decent striker would have done the same. In fact had he been a better player, we'd have won the league. Missed peno Blackpool at 0-0 springs to mind.
  2. If Mick Channon can play for the Skates, then Billy Sharp can play for Weds.
  3. The minimum wage is a con job. How can you have a minimum wage that is set so low that you have to top it up with tax payers money? The minimum wage is good for employers, but a terrible deal for the taxpayer. It isn't a minimum wage, it's a welfare for work scheme where multi million pound companies get their pitiful wages subsidised by the tax payer. Now Labour bang on about a "living wage". Surely a minimum wage needs to be a living wage, why set a minimum wage that people cant live on? They wont campaign for an increase in the minimum wage because they know it may cost jobs, exactly the same argument that opponents made against it's introduction. By setting it so low Labour felt good about themselves and boxed the Torys in, business get subsidised Labour and the bloke on the wage doesn't care as it gets topped up. Everybody's a winner except the mug taxpayer.
  4. Brown was a disaster for the country , incompetent even by labour chancellor's standards. Poured money into unreformed public services, neutered frank field, trashed our pensions, sold the gold at rock bottom price, set up the tripartite banking regulation, ran a deficit during boom years, in short a complete and utter **** up of a chancellor and PM. The pictures of him stalking mrs Duffy , hanging around in her garden whilst the worlds press filmed him, was the final nail in this clowns political career. I wouldn't let him run a bath let alone an economy.
  5. If they could prove perjury beyond a reasonable doubt, then she should be charged with it. Its never going to happen in a "he said/she said" case like this. The more important question for me is , would he have faced charges per js
  6. Has anyone who received " the call" received their tickets yet. Women told me they were being posted out Fri, but I haven't had them yet.
  7. Just on SSN, bloke with team has spoken to Rickie. Said " RL is under no illusion of the task, knows Rooney, Sturridge and wellbeck are coming back in, Lambert also mentioned Andy Carroll when fit ". The guy really seems to have his feet on the ground and is no it going to let any disapointment get to him.
  8. He wasn't talking about anyone in particularly, he was just saying that as a team we lacked a cutting edge. Seeing as 3 automatic starters who play in forward positions were missing, it's an entirely valid point. FFS, why is everyone so precious? Had Davie Moyes offered a swap Rooney or Wellbeck for SRL, or Rodgers said Sturridge for Rickie, who on earth would turn it down?
  9. He only got his chance because of injuries What he's done is proved to Woy that if needed he won't let his country down. If he's needed again he'll get called up, but if everybody is fit he may miss out. He was never going to play so well that he made himself indispensable, the best he could hope was that Woy considers him an option. A freak set of circumstances opened the door for him, and he didn't let anyone down. However, he's down the pecking order. 6 months ago he wasn't even in the pecking order. He needs to really have a career season this year, he needs to be banging them in week in week out, which can only be good for us.
  10. ****ing hell, are you sure? Rooney has scored champions league hat tricks, has played his whole career in the top flight, has produced some great performances for England. He is a better international player than a guy who has played against Scotland and Moldova. You say about the 2 assists and yes they were good, but conveniently over look 2 simple chances he missed against the jocks. To throw your argue.ent back to you, what would you have said had Rooney missed those. The hype on here is unbelievable. RL has come in and played against 2 very average sides, he's looked at home in an international shirt and has done all that can be expected of him. But, Tuesday is a step up. He may make that step up with ease , and look the part, but Rooney has looked the part against top quality defenders. A bit of perspective needs to be applied here. He's battling for the Peter crouch role, with Andy Carroll. He is not and I doubt if he ever will be a better option for England than Wayne Rooney. Moldova and Scotland are at best championship standard, lets see him against better sides before going too overboard
  11. How are they trying to wriggle out of it?
  12. I'm sure he would have received a pay rise for becoming a "premiership" player. The fact is that we dont consider him a premiership player , and neither do 19 other premiership clubs. He has to face facts, he is a championship player on premiership wages. Therefore he has 2 options, sit out his contract ,not playing but still receiving premiership wages, or play in the championship on championship wages. The club have done nothing wrong here, they are honouring his contract. He has decided that money is more important than getting on with his career. When Tommy fourpast acted the same way, he got dogs abuse. Personally, I would be the same as The Don. I'd take it personally ,and even if it cost me money , I wouldn't subsidise an overpaid player to play elsewhere. **** him, let the supporters see what motivates him, if it was a Carlos kick-a-ball, im sure he'd be called a greedy barsteward.
  13. I think Joe hart should get it, For keeping a clean sheet.
  14. Blokes like Scott Sinclair, should look at Rickie and catch themselves on. Play regularly, even if its an "unfashionable" club and the doors open. Instead of ****ing around in man c reserves be could have been building an international career
  15. A good game away in Kiev and I reckon if he stays injury free, he's gonna be on the plane to brazil
  16. To be fair, had Lambert got 2 and not got motm this place would be in meltdown
  17. That walker is dog shiete.
  18. I also spoke to Heather today, and I must say she gave great customer service and was very friendly. I explained that I was not trying to con anyone and get an adult in on a under 17 ticket. It was just that we wanted to all sit together, and the nipper had 2nd priority and the rest of us first priority. As you mentioned, she was happy with that explanation as I gave her the nipper involved S/T number .She then swapped the "points" over from the adult ticket to the Kid's one. She said that some adult season ticket holders were ordering under 17 tickets every time and that the % of under 17's attending away games far exceeded what can reasonably be expected. Therefore , they now have to check tickets before sending them out. Fair play to the Ticket office, they didn't need to do that and she certainly didn't conform to the "jobsworth" tag the ticket office get on here.
  19. You are correct. I have just looked at my terms and conditions and it clearly states that any rights conected to the s/t are non transferable. Clearly priority to an away game is a right arising out of having a s/t. I never knew that, I guess not reading the t&c's is stupid. In light if that, I think the ticket office should be commended for bothering to contact people, rather than just cancelling the tickets.
  20. I think you're being a bit harsh on the ticket office. I wouldn't call it penny pinching, its clearly an issue with adults getting in on kids tickets and depriving the home club of £37 ( in this case). Its not going to be just saints supporters doing this and is probably a league wide issue. Think of the posts that would be written on here if the boot was on the other foot. Liverpool adults getting into SMS on child tickets. I'm sure there would be loads of "robbing scousers " ect posts. What the club have been guilty of is not making it clear in its terms and conditions . When the sales are announced a simple" s/t holders who went to x amount of games can buy a ticket FOR THEMSELVES from y date" would make it clear and simple. Its obviously implied at the moment , but its a clear loophole they should have closed. As someone said earlier, the agreed to the sale and then took the money. They allowed s/t holders to purchase a ticket, it said nothing about it having to be on a like for like basis, or being non transferable. All they're guilty of is being naive, and not understanding football supporters will exploit any loophole.
  21. Does anybody really care what he's up to, or what his lasagne tastes like?
  22. That's a good point. I always take my nipper with me, so he has the same "points" as me. One of our crowd sometimes goes alone and although his nipper may have got a ticket (as he has quite a few away games) , he would have been sat alone. I was basically doing the guy a favour, but using my oldest boys number. Had it been made clear on the os I would have just said I can't. Its now cost my mate an adult ticket for his nipper. All im worried about is it affecting the whole order and messing up the "legit" tickets. It doesn't look like anyones had that particlary senerio.
  23. Perhaps Im missing something, but if 100 kids get tickets using 100 adult s/t's how does that cost sfc a penny. Surely the only ones taking the hit are Liverpool and then only if they let an adult get in on that kids ticket. Are there limits on kids ticket numbers because if not, i can't see what difference it makes to sfc. Fairness , in that the kid may get a ticket before a genuine s/t holder with lower priority, but that happens with adult to adult tickets, and there's not anything I can see that stops it..Maybe they need a condition of sale that states away ticket must be for named s/t holder only. As they have no such condition, it would be interesting what the legal position is ,the way the away game allocation eligibility is worded at present.
  24. I did it for wba, and they never called. Perhaps I should call for a refund
  25. ****. I did this for a mate of mine. Because our crowd had different priority than his nipper and my older lads not going , he asked me to get his nippers ticket on my 23 year olds number so we can sit together. I did question it with him, but he said he'd done it before. Guess I'll be receiving a phone call. Funny how my mate had an adult ticket for wba on my nippers number and it didn't affect the "points system". Looks like my mate is going to have to fork out an extra £37 for not using his nippers number. All I'm hoping is that the ticvkrt office miss it, bearing in mind their history of incompetence, you never know. Has anyone got tickets yet?
