  1. I would rather have fox than surman.
  2. Love it, Great they lost, even better that it was undeserved and Taggart was all upset. Funny as ****, how many times have they fluked it because of the ref? Anyway Taggart should be glad the ref's are clamping down on dangerous play, remember it wasn't long ago that RVP was nearly "killed" by a football being kicked at him.LOL............
  3. The problem with that position is it fundamentally misunderstands the very nature of the EU. The principles of the EU involve ever closer union, that's what is at the heart of it. It is an ever moving beast that pauses every now and again before consuming more national sovereignty. It has gone from a trading bloc to where it is now and will not stop until there is a federal Europe. Remaining in the EU, as it is now is not an option, because it wont remain as it is now. It is like World Peace, a dream that looks good on paper but has no basis in reality. The options are remaining in and trusting future PM's to try and put the brakes on further integration ( they all go native in the end), or getting out. I doubt whether there's 1% of the British population who would want to get out of the EEC, had it remained a trading bloc. As Michael Portillio once said, the Europeans view the EU as an evolving thing, whereas the British view it as a club we joined , whose rules will remain the same. Those two positions have not and can not be reconciled.
  4. I would suggest that performances are also very similar, should have won and chucked it away Wigan-Stoke, played really well second half but got nowt, Man Utd-Spurs, played well and won, Villa-Man City, got a draw when we should have won Norwich-Everton, and played shiete and lost a winnable game Sunderland-QPR. Seeing as it's the same players, it's not really a surprise. Some people need to get a grip, good job the internet wasn't around when Lawrie took over from Ted.
  5. But yesterday was just going through the motions. He did not get anywhere near the abuse he got in '05 at Fratton and nowhere near anything that would have made him uncomfortable. That day all the hatred towards him translated itself to the players, who shat themselves, made him make mistakes tactically and generally cost us the game. Yesterday was a stroll in the park and we would have been better off creating the atmosphere we had against City, ie getting behind the side, and forgetting about Twitchy.
  6. I was listening to Talksport yesterday and Mark Saggers was talking to a Chelsea fan over the air. The Chelsea guy was banging on about RDM and Saggers said there were plenty of rumours in the game that senior players dictated the side and tactics under him and there were lots of "issues" with his management. Would we have Avram Grant, who don't forget was a slipped penalty kick away from doing exactly the same thing.?
  7. I thought the Redknapp stuff was pretty poor, nothing original or funny. Just singing "we ****ing hate you" made us look a bit 2 bob in my opinion. There wasn't really the raw passion, the real hate against him. Hate to say it but that awful day at Fratton, that was a atmosphere of real hate that affected his players, ours was just going through the motions. Should have stuck to supporting team rather than get side-tracked by Redknapp, it makes us look a bit silly when we lose.
  8. Anybody who thinks we wouldn't have put in a performance like this under Nigel is clearly deluded. It may not have been this exact game, but we would of had a terrible performance if Nigel had stayed. People need to get a grip and calm down. Onto the performance, Cork played well, Jay Rod did ok, but everybody else was a bit pedestrian. Maya had his poorest game for weeks. Fox was no worse than anyone else, but I guess he'll get stick
  9. They were in the frog and parrot and were clearly cardinals or popes. Ffs, get a grip they were not KKK
  10. To leave the EU. For the UK to govern itself. It's just not about immigration . The point about EU immigration is that the British electorate, and the British parliament have no choice. What is racist about wanting the British people to decide how to run our borders?
  11. Music is one of the most important unimportant things in my life, but I never get sentimental about shops or the charts ECT. Personally, I've got into a lot of stuff via YouTube and other such media. I didn't want my parents ramming their music and how they listened to it down my throat so ain't going to be doing so to my kids. I think downloads are far better than 33/45's or cd's, and if it means skipping revolution number 9 or yellow submarine, then that a bonus. There has always been shiete music, even in the great years of '68-'77. I hate modern music , but in a way that's great. My grandparents hated jerry lee Lewis, my dad hated my music. Part of what makes music great and fresh, is that old fossils like me dont get it.
  12. Was more of a peno than the one we got at Villa.
  13. The OP doesn't say whether it's a season ticket or a match ticket. Match ticket, the adult knows the score and if he gets refused entry then so be it. Wouldn't try it with a nippers season ticket in case the nipper's ticket got confiscated/deactivated. Pretty poor form if the nipper misses any matches because your mate is too tight to upgrade.
  14. Hang on, unless I'm missing something the Mayor was wanting the assembly to scrutinise his budget, to ask questions on behalf of Londoners and they voted against it. If he's showing a lack of leadership, what does that say about the people unwilling to question him?
  15. Never thought old cleggys defence that he never knew would fall apart quite so quickly. statement being made tonight, like to see how Clegg gets out of this.
  16. Perhaps Jos is playing better because he's suddenly not an automatic choice to replace Fonte. Sometimes bringing more competition in, brings more out of the existing players.
  17. I just love where all this "potential" has come from . I lost count of the number of "he clearly has ability" posts we've had about this guy. He is quite young for a keeper, but has not looked anything like good enough this season. He's cost us points, even when we've won (QPR) he looked like Mike Gatting fielding a googlie. From what I can tell his "ability" and "potential" is based on, one save against Newcastle, Good timewasting, good kicking, Nigel playing him. If I remember correctly Bart was younger than him when he made his debut, and at that time looked a class above this guy.
  18. Depends on how this Lord Rennard story develops over the week. It's getting nearer and nearer to Cleggy , with his parliamentary aide admitting that "she took action" after the women confided in her. It beggars belief that accusations were made against the CEO of the party, that Clegg's parliamentary aide took action over it, yet didn't tell Cleggy????? The same guy then steps down for "health reasons". Come on!!! I have a feeling it'll be the normal small lie that'll do for Cleggy on this. He didn't do anything, nothing has been proved yet, but by claiming he knew nothing of the allegations he's leaving himself wide open. If this gathers legs it could tip the balance against the Lib/dems despite strong local representation. No wonder they went for a short campaign...........
  19. Didn't watch motd, but soccer Saturday said next 5 were winnable games for qpr. I personally wouldn't write them off yet. I still think those 2 points dropped at Wigan could come back go haunt us. Norwich, Swansea, Wigan and stoke we really chucked away points, we should be sitting here with at least 4 more, sitting pretty
  20. The government ****ed this up politically by putting too much emphasis on the AAA rating. Yes, it was important to keep borrowing at rock bottom rates, but the ratings are just a guide. Its down to the markets and provided they've still got confidence rates will remain low. The us lost their status, but continue to borrow at low rates. Cameron and Osborne put too much on the actual status rather than the rate. For that basic mistake they deserve all the stick coming to them. Peter Hitchens offered the opinion that we're not seeing a downturn but national decline. A decline overseen by both major parties. I tend to agree, neither party are prepared to make cuts, its all tinkering around the edges, just kicking the can down the road in the hope of getting elected. We have a health service and welfare system based on a 1950's view of the world and both need major reform. Nobody will do it, because it makes them unelectable. We have spent 40 years living above our means and do not want to deal with that fact. You can change government, but the thinking will remain the same. They just think the deck chairs should be arranged differently. The ship is still going down.
  21. Nor do the stewards at football.
  22. I watched the bit on soccer Saturday and noticed one of the PST called it a "hybrid bid" . Has anyone heard them use this expression before , because I've only ever heard them talk of fan ownership. They seem to be moving towards accepting that its a few rich people using fans money, rather than a fan owenership. I thought that turn of phrase was very telling.
  23. Heard a guy on 5live the other night discussing this. He said it cost the same to go to the cinema in the 70's as it did to watch top flight football. Now it's £8.50 for cinema and £35 for football.
  24. The whole education system and "choice" is corrupted by money. Whether it's richer people moving into the catchment of good state schools, richer people paying tutors to school their kids into Grammar, or rich paying for private education. Why do people do the 3 things mentioned, because some state schools are awful.
  25. Believe it or not FIFA have been known to say one thing and do another. They used to refuse to consider any technology, including the goal line. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/international/7385130/Fifa-rule-out-goal-line-technology.html
