  1. Mrs Duck took 3 points for me once in about '98, because I was on 6 and her on 0. The difference is that even if Mrs Duck went to the police it would be hard to prove, it would be my word against her's.Reading between the lines, where he's gone wrong is that there is a paper trail in the form of an email (just given to police by a newspaper), and I also think she had a public speaking event that night miles away from where the pic was taken. He was also proved to be on a flight that landed within the timescales for him to have been driving by that camera at the time of the photo.Being famous, him and wife can be placed in certain areas at certain times, whereas me and Mrs Duck are nobodies that nobody will remember what we were doing at that time. We had our defence lined up, just in case. It was that we weren't 100% sure who was driving, but think it was Mrs Duck.If Huhme's Mrs was speaking miles away, then that defence is lost to them.
  2. Cardiff score
  3. Brighton players cheating again
  4. It's nothing to do with points or speed cameras, it's about perverting the course of justice, an extremly serious offense. Had he just taken the 3 points, nobody would have batted an eyelid.
  5. I hope it's off, but called off before people travel. They are the in form team in the league, we're a bit so-so. Would rather play this when Chappers and Jos are back, Sharpe is fully intergrated and we're back on form.
  6. There is no contest, Real Ale all the time. Occasional, on a very hot day I may have a cold bottle of Peroni or Miller genuine draft, but I wont drink lager out of a can, or in a pub. No real ale and I'll have a Guinness, if only lager, I'll walk. John Smith's/Worthingtons/Boddingtons any smoothflow sort of stuff is as bad as lager and avioded at all cost. Have always been a bitter man. Started on Trophy 35 years ago, quickly moved on to Strongs and have been an ale man ever since. Fav is Tanglefoot.
  7. Whilst legally there is a presumption of innocence it is not absolute. If it was there would be no prisoners on remand as they are innocent until proven guilty. Ian Huntley was innocent until proven guilty, but that did not give him the right to keep his caretaking job whilst awaiting trial.A teacher accused of slapping a 6th former, would not be able to still keep teaching until found guilty/proved innocent. These are not just accusations against Terry, he has been charged. The question here therefore becomes is this charge so serious that, although innocent until proven guilty, he can not continue to do his job. With the FA determined to stamp out racism, with the tournament being held in a part of the world that’s maybe not quite where we are in respect of racist behaviour from fans, with the person who he’s accused of abusing’s brother and friends playing in the squad, and with the eyes of the nation if not the world looking on, there’s no way he can captain England. How can the FA turn round and condemn the abuse of our black players by other supporters (as has happened recently), whilst a man accused of abusing a player captains the side. It maybe a terrible miscarriage, as with Dave Jones. But, innocent until proven guilty does not mean a man accused of rape could remain England Captain and personally I feel that a mean accused of what Terry has been shouldn’t either.
  8. Obviously only reading reports and tweets you can't know too much about Redknapp's case but I think the whole thing will hang on the judges summing up. I dont know enough about the law, but surely ignorance is no defence. There was either tax due or the wasn't. If it was a geniune "invsetment" oppurtunity or gift from MM to him, why the Rosie account in monaco. We've a pretty decent Nationwide here in Poole. I may have been watching too much TV, but I have a gut feeling that the judge will cut through all the BS, and concentrate the jury's minds during the summing up.The jury will go where he/she leads them, and clarifys the legal position.
  9. Milliband has done better the past 2 PMQ's, but he could hardly do any worse than he was. Yesterday I thought he poor over the bankers bonus using terms like "class war" will come back to haunt him. Scored an open goal on the NHS. However, the Torys were able to use lots of planted questions ( a New Labour tactic) over the welfare cap, so I pretty much scored it a draw (which is good for Ed). On the wider picture I think Milliband is playing the country for fools and the electrate dont like being played for fools. His "class war" on Bankers is phoney and pure opportunism. It's all very good baying for Fred Goodwin's blood and his knighthood, but a knighthood is nothing compared to the yearly pension of £703,000 waved through by a Labour cabinet (including Milliband and Balls) after RBS was bust. Milliband's line appears to be, "here's your £12mil pension pot" when in Government, but "lets have the knighthood back". Labour also set up a quango to run RBS, to keep it at arms length from ministers interfering, then calls for ministers to interfere.Cameron was right to call him a hypocrite. The British public will see right through these tactics and that coupled with his poor performance will do for him.The fact that he is so far behind in the polls against a posh, wet, Ted Heath like Tory leader in times of austerity, dont bode well for his election chances.
  10. IDS adressed this one on TV Monday. If you follow Labour's point to its logical conclusion, you'll end up with regional differences for all benefits. After all the cost of living is higher in some of the South East than it is up North and in Scotland. It costs more for a disabled person to live in London than Milliband's Doncaster constitancy. How would Red Ed feel if there was a regional disability benefit, or regional dole money, and it ended up meaning less for Labour supporting areas. Labour's opposition is just opposition for the sake of it. Had a reginional average been written into the bill, they would have found another small point to use as an excuse to oppose the bill. My opinion is that the cap should be set as follows.: It should be set at the minimum wage for full time work, plus any housing benefit/WFTB/ Child benefit assessed on a case to case basis, like a working person is. The benefit system should pay the same as the poorest working people are, not the average. I have blokes working for me on £13,000, its plain wrong that people on benefits can earn twice that, and unbelievable that people still dont think that's enough. And before anyone starts, yes they should be paid more (but they aren't going to be, so forget that one), and the wages are nothing to do with me, I'm just a Manager not on the board. They are decent hard working people, and it makes my blood boil that they are the poorest in society, below people on welfare. Where's the incentive to go out and get a job?
  11. My local B&Q do van hire for £13 an hour. You dont need to "prove" you need the van to carry your purchases as it is a seperate arrangement with Hertz. My son went in and hired it and didn't spend a penny in the shop. They just give you a leaflet and you go outside register over the phone and they unlock the van remotely. Stright up, I didn't believe him at first, but a neighbour did the same thing. B&Q dont care as it's a service via Hertz........... http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/templates/content_lookup.jsp?content=/content/support/services/van_hire/index.jsp
  12. We have had both Laminate and Real wood and the real wood is a lot better. I dont understand the point about B&Q from my expeirence the prices are competitive. You wont get any expert advise (unless you're really really lucky), and stay away from their cheaper ranges, but comparing like for like their prices are normally the best around. I normally shop around for advise in other shops and then use them to buy. They keep having offers on particulary on flooring. I installed our laminate but our wood was done by a bloke doing our extension at the time, and you can tell, it was finished a lot better by him. It's one of those jobs that is a **** of ****, but I could tell the difference when a pro did it, paritculary around some of the tricky corners of the hall. Underlay is important and again I shopped around for that, and ended up finding it cheaper at Floors to Go.
  13. After the last 2 nights and I'm sat here nursing a bad headache, this great Willie Nelson line came to mind. There's a lot of doctors tell me That I'd better start slowing it down But there's more old drunks than there are old doctors So I guess we'd better have another round
  14. Spot on, Governments of both colours would struggle to run a **** up in a brewary let alone a bank.Alister Darling set the terms of running the bank and they were very specific, it was not to be run with the interference of ministers and was not to be run like a nationlised industry. If we want our money back, we are going to need banks to get back to profitability ASAP. This witchhunt will put the best people off working in the banks that we own. Now what about the obscence salary's that other publically owned companies pay. What about Clakson's salary, or David Dimble's. What about Chris Evan's or Graham Norton. Milliband's a bit quiet on those ones. It's very easy to pick on this guy, who was headhunted by the last Government .
  15. This is what a bloke posted on another forum. I haven't a clue whether it is correct or whether he is a bit of a billy, but it interested me, and may be of some interest on here. "If there's one thing I understand about Insolvency generally it is the huge amount of grey areas that exist. Whilst there are rules and laws in place, the fact is that all Insolvency matters are dealt with by a licensed Insolvency Practitioner. Within reason, what they see as fit becomes acceptable, provided the creditors agree during negotiations. I once had five Insolvency Practitioners working for me and I asked each of them the same question. I received five different answers! My point is that I cannot provide a definitive answer to the questions on here but I can explain the process. You can then draw your own conclusions. First of all, put aside the fact that PFC are already within a CVA. That is almost irrelevant. A winding up petition is simply there as a method for a disgruntled creditor to petition the court to intervene in the recovery of a debt. A fee is paid (to discourage minor creditors) to lodge the petition and a hearing date for the petition is published in the relevant gazette. At the hearing, the court needs to establish if the debtor, having been awarded due leniency and notice by the creditor, has been unreasonable in repaying their liability. If that is deemed to be the case, a winding up order could be granted. Depending on the state of the business concerned (it may for example have significant assets but be suffering from short term cashflow issues) a number of outcomes could arise. In no particular order they are: No action taken Administrator appointed to reach a mutually satisfactory outcome Administrator appointed to liquidate the business I should also point out that there exists a legal concept called reversible transactions. In the event of bankruptcy or liquidation, any transaction undertaken within the previous five years can legally be reversed. This prevents both Joe Bloggs from signing his house over to his wife and then going bankrupt and also businesses from stripping assets. All matters prior to the CVA are tied up within it but should the club start to sell players now in order to pay debts, they (as they clearly know) would be complete fools. Buying clubs are aware of this too so you can be certain that offers being made are derisory anyway. So, a few things to consider here. PFC have missed just two tax and NI payments to HMRC as a direct result of their new backers going into administration. Is the issue of a winding up petition so quickly therefore reasonable? Remember, the CVA is irrelevant. The petition relates entirely to the current missed payments and I can assure you that there are thousands of businesses further behind than two months. The CVA only becomes relevant in discussions relating to PFC's ability to pay going forward, at which stage the entire concern is looked at. The calculations are straightforward; X coming in Y going out means that this business needs to find Z in order to survive as a going concern. Conversation will then turn to how Z can best be found. If Z exists in assets and the court agrees that the debtor has been wholly unreasonable in failing to repay their debts, then those assets can be ordered to be sold for the benefit of the creditors. Of course, it isn't just a matter of Y being £1.6M in unpaid tax to date, it will also take into consideration future liabilities. All things considered, if the sale of PFC's squad (their only assets not already tied up in the CVA) could safeguard the operation of the business as a going concern (including payments to the CVA), then the company won't be wound up. As dispensation for sales outside of the window would need to be gained, my money is on an administrator being appointed by the court (not Andronikou) with an explicit mandate to find a buyer within a certain timeframe or to start selling off the players. Inevitable points deduction to follow."
  16. I had a few last night and wanted to post this, but dont quite know what I did, but it didn't work. fantastic lyric and great performance from Pop and his girls......... 19. I had to pull a night shift last night and set my clock radio to wake me up before the game. I came out of a deep sleep with the sound of Westwood on Solant. I really thought I was dreaming. He was banging on about what a good investment it was for someone. "We only need a new training facillity, and a new stadium. There were 200,000 welcoming the cup back, and Brighton, Saints and Reading have new grounds but not the passion we have". What is the clown on about ONLY need a new ground. My Sunday team has 3 pasionate supporters, one of the player's Mum and Dad and another blokes mate, they come to every game and are really passionate. Surely it's not about how passionate they are, but how many pay £'s to watch their team. I'm sure I must have been dreaming or did someone else hear it?
  20. But RBS did need bailing out, therefore the last Govt could have imposed terms, it also got Hester onboard, so surely they could have imposed terms on his bonus then. Whether they should have been bailed out or not, is open to questionin my opinion. For Capitalism to work, failure must mean going bust. It is not Capitalism to bail out a failed Company, that leads to risks being taken and rewards privatised with losess nationalised. This is way behind my comprehension, but we should of found a way to protect ordinary people's savings & pensions , whilst letting the banks go bang. When RBS went bust, anyone with savings should have been compensated by Govt, anyone with a mortgage or loan should have had it written off. It would have cost a lot less. It was not a failure of Capitalism that cuased the problems it was the regulation of Capitalism, allowing the banks to hold the country to ransom, by becoming too big.
  21. Kris Kristofferson Sunday Morning Coming Down Well I woke up Sunday morning, With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt. And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad, So I had one more for dessert. Then I fumbled through my closet for my clothes, And found my cleanest dirty shirt. An' I shaved my face and combed my hair, An' stumbled down the stairs to meet the day. I'd smoked my brain the night before, On cigarettes and songs I'd been pickin'. But I lit my first and watched a small kid, Cussin' at a can that he was kicking. Then I crossed the empty street, 'n caught the Sunday smell of someone fryin' chicken. And it took me back to somethin', That I'd lost somehow, somewhere along the way. On the Sunday morning sidewalk, Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned. 'Cos there's something in a Sunday, Makes a body feel alone. And there's nothin' short of dyin', Half as lonesome as the sound, On the sleepin' city sidewalks: Sunday mornin' comin' down. In the park I saw a daddy, With a laughin' little girl who he was swingin'. And I stopped beside a Sunday school, And listened to the song they were singin'. Then I headed back for home, And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin'. And it echoed through the canyons, Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday.
  22. the time for clamping down and regulating this banks bonus' was when they were in 10 downing street telling darling that they had run out of money and would go bank without gov help . Surely part of the bail out should have included future bonus payments for its ceo . Yet bother example of labour cocking things up , they gave away our money and should have got a cap on bonus in return for it
  23. because i shot a man in reno just to watch him die
  24. I’m in the “there is no other choice” bag. The time for capping benefit and reforming the public services and sorting out their pensions, was during the “boom” years. Labour failed to do so, bottled it and let the Country down. We are now seeing much needed savings, cuts and reform in the times when we should be battening down the hatches. The opposition have been awful, there cuts would equate to £7 out of every £8 the Coalition cut, but they oppose everything, it is sheer political optimism. Personally I think things would be a lot worse under Labour. The problems are coming from the Euro (a currency Labour are in favour of in principle). The raising of tax thresholds are a good thing. The disappointing thing is the lies over a EU referendum.
