  1. I've been lucky enough to receive a couple of Club Wembley tickets for the England v Spain game next Saturday. What's it like in comparison to standard tickets, what are the concourse food outlets and restaurants like? Is it worth betting up there early and having a meal? I'm planning on driving to Rickmansworth and getting the tube into Wembley Park, did this for the JPT and it was nice and easy.
  2. I just had another look and between you and me, I got a little stiffie!
  3. Not a Saints one but I was at Crystal Palace for an athletics meeting (yes it was very dull). My mate shouted 'Come on Seb' just as Steve Cram was running round the bend, Coe was not in the race!
  4. Sorry to come across all pedantic like MLG but we have got 11 points in October, 3 wins and 2 draws. Whatever way you look at it, it's been a cracking month.
  5. I'm starting to get nervous already for this one. Just been texting my West Ham supporting nephew who says he'd be happy with a draw, as would I TBH.
  6. If he is that clever he'd be able to answer this question: 'Who is the forums most unpopular poster. Alpine or MLG?'
  7. Really looking forward to this one, most of my family are West Ham fans. Hospitality for me, can't wait.
  8. Christ, what does this guy know eh Alpine?
  9. Been to the US lot's of times but never Monument Valley. It's definately on my to do list.
  10. Personally, I think Oxo will be ahead of Walcott for both Arsenal and England before the end of the season.
  11. Mixed feelings for me, delighted to see him score (and I knew he would) but when he ran towards the Arsenal fans celebrating, my heart sank. I want him to do well though, why? because he's English.

    Tonights games

If Poopey hadn't got that winner in extra time on Saturday they would be in the bottom 3 now. Forest 3 down v Burnley. Sack for McLaren?
  13. Does he? It appears to me that the quotes were cherry-picked and with the piece written as it was it suggests that the 'freebie' comments were aimed directly at MLT & LM. Whatever way you look at it, it's a bloody mess.
  14. Because we've only got a bus, not a caravan!
  15. 'Grip of the football' appears to be Nigel's latest catchphrase, heard it a lot after the game yesterday and again just now.
  16. Link not working for me and I can't find the article. Is it just me?
  17. How will this affect my pension?
  18. Nowt wrong with that, so am I.
  19. This Intelligent people - low proportion of tattoos Idiots - high proportion of tattoos
  20. What difference does it make when a poster joins for FFS? I'd me more concerned about using personal images as an avatar.
  21. Heard this on R5L this morning along with a piece about a potential new cancer treatment. Therein lies the problem, we keep finding ways to prolong peoples lives but it has to come at a cost i.e. ever increasing retirement age.
  22. I feel the same. First game since the opening day of the season for me as I'm recently back from holiday. It will make a change from finding out the score on line on a hotel PC.
  23. Time to combine income Tax and NI. The whole tax system needs to be simplified, this would save money if nothing else. Also child benefit should be scrapped, if you can't afford to have kids don't have them. And yes, I am a parent by the way.

    New York?

We went to NYC at the end of May, had a great time. Personally I would advise against the Hop on bus, there is an awful lot of waiting around. Use the Subway and do plenty of walking. If you have a smartphone check out the apps for the subway, very useful. Best bit of our trip and very reasonably priced too was climbing up the Statue of Liberty but you won't be able to do it for much longer, you also need to book well in advance as numbers are limited. We spent lots of time in Central Park, did both Rockafeller and ESB, one in the day the other at night, walked across Brooklyn Bridge, did a Broadway Show. We stayed at the Intercontinental NYC, a couple of blocks from Times Square. I would advise flying BA, you will get to use T5 which is nice and if you park at T5 Business parking you can get to use the cool futuristic 'pods' to the terminal.
