  1. It took an age to get out of the ground last night but I noticed how long ML stood there after the final whistle. He was clearly just revelling in the atmosphere and sharing the fans joy. It was a special, special night. For me, hearing the 'We're the famous Southampton and we're going to Wemberley' brought back some wonderful memories of 1979 v Forest.
  2. I'll be leaving shortly for the game. Looking forward to it immensely especially with a full house, but I am bloody nervous.
  3. +1 I'm currently on my third pair today. Seriously though I am desperate to get to Wembley but can't help thinking we're going to make a right royal f*** up of it tonight.
  4. What ******. Leeds are not taking it seriously are they? Norwich were all smiles when they lost the penalty shoot out. It would be a great day for everyone at the club.
  5. There is more to life than having lot's of money. I know this because you're making *** loads and you're still a miserable sod!
  6. Mods, I think it's time for a Stripes or Sash poll, unless of course you want it resolved like this: I go for Stripes.
  7. Very cheap if you ask me.
  8. ....and now meet Glasgow Saint whose first question will be: "How much does it cost?"
  9. Question from Glasgow Saint: "How much are they going to cost?"
  10. I take it your nipper will be making his own way there then? (if we get through of course).
  11. You get it oh this forum too of course. Read a comment on the after match thread describing Mills as C***. He's not, fact. I just don't understand the mentality of some fans slagging off their own players without any constructive criticism. They could say lack of pace, inconsistent but no they are 'excrement'. Barnard is already being slagged off yet he's only played three games FFS. Never understood it, never will.
  12. I thought I heard on Solent after the game that reports suggest we are still interested in him. Anyone else hear this or was I dreaming again.
  13. Millwall, Huddersfield and MK Dons all winning, we're losing even more ground.
  14. Typical Jock, all you ever talk about his how much the squad costs!
  15. It does seem that with the advent of the transfer windows this rule could be redundant now.
  16. Plagiarism! Mods, infraction for MLG.
  17. With all the transfer specualtion and of course the signings we have already made it's quite a task working out who is eligible to play in the cup competitions, but why? What I mean is why does a player have to be cup-tied, why does it matter if he has already played a cup game for a previous club? It seems to me yet another pointless rule in the game that has no good reason whatsoever. Or am I missing something?
  18. He is clearly highly rated by the Palace fans. One guy actually thinks he would be a bigger loss than Moses. http://forums.cpfc.org/showthread.php?t=193881&page=9 It sounds as if it would be a good signing when you consider he is one of the better players from a championship side just outside the play-offs (before the 10pt deduction).
  19. Have to smile when you first go onto their website when you get SALE! splashed across the screen. I feel sorry for them though after what we went through. My FD is a Palace fan, he came into my office last week moaning about the fact we'd bought Fonte, he could be even more p***** off soon.
  20. Is he more of a CM or RM?
  21. 1. Stock 2. Danns 3. Puncheon 4. Ronaldo
  22. Now on the Beeb's website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8485388.stm
  23. I vow never to buy the Echo again. Actually I've never bought it anyway as I live in Christchurch. I never buy newspapers at all, I think they are a total waste of money. Have to say though, Ian Murray is starting to make himself look a right tit.
  24. Totally agree, a quality midfielder is a must. I said it a few weeks back when everyone was banging on about the defence conceding too many goals. And yes, improvements had to me made and AP has done that. But sometimes you put pressure on your defence by not protecting them or dominating midfield by retaining posession. I hope the fact that Brian Stock was nowhere to be seen for Doncaster last night means he's on his way here. Also, we should not forget that AP has virtually bought a whole new team and it does take time for them to gel. This is something that Leeds, Norwich, Charlton etc. did not have to contend with. Even if we don't make the play-offs I would like to think we will hit the ground running at the start of the new season. Now that would make a change!!
  25. Some time ago a few people including myself calculated that we needed to average approx. 2.1 pts per game to reach the play-offs. We had a great October when we had W5 D1 L0 to average 2.6 pts, that was when we all started thinking about the play-offs. Since then in 11 games we have W5 D3 L3 averaging 1.6 pts. We have to pick up our league form massively to stand any hope of reaching the play-offs. Personally I don't think we will do it, I just hope we have the consolation of a trip to Wembley.
