Yeah, let's slag Cortese off for this as well

Interesting that he has come from Man City. Probably because he can see that we want to develop our youngsters as opposed to simply splashing the cash. It's pleasing to see that ML's money is being spent on the long term development and infrastructure of the club. Just compare this with that lot down the road. Virtually every penny spent there went into the players (and their agents) pockets. PFC as a football club has been left with nothing, scandalous.

Was she a bit sauce...y?? I'll get my coat.

Of course, the ultimate comedy name. I remember being in a pub with a coach full of England fans on the way back from England v Scotland in Euro 96 when someone did that one. The poor young barmaid was walking round shouting "Has anyone seen Mike Hunt", brilliant

Just read this article: http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/8187376.Golf__Vineer_shines_for_US_college/ Is that name for real? What were his parents thinking? It did get me thinking about other amusing names I'd come across such as: A lady who worked in the accounts department at a previous company with the surname Fidler. A guy who worked for the company Chubb with the surname Lock. Has anyone else got any good ones?

That would affect me, well my daughter actually as all the child benefit goes direct to her account. But I have to say this would make sense. My problem with this child trust fund is that it is more of 'the state will help make it better' when people should take more responsiblity for themselves. It also meant money going to people who simply don't need it.
-
I didn't suggest that! It was a ridiculous idea because we can't bloody afford it!!
-
Absolutely necessary. They were a bloody ridiculous idea. Of course soon they will probably cut back or means test the child allowance which I won't be happy about but to be honest I (and many others no doubt) don't need it.
-
I think he is a good role model apart from those ridiculous 'chavtoos'.
-
I think he's going to try Gerrard playing just off Rooney, so I'd go for: Hart, Carragher, Ferdinand, King, Baines, Lennon, Milner, Huddlestone, Johnson, Gerrard, Rooney.
-
Indeed, a face you'd never get tired of hitting!!
-
I only watch it to see blokes kissing
-
One more thing... Gorgeous women who clearly spend a lot of time making themselves look good and then go and stick a bloody fag in their mouth. Smokers in general Sports / film / music critics in the media. If you know so much why don't you go and bloody do it. Why? because all you can do is string a few sentances together in a coherent manner (unlike me) and so spend all your time slagging other people off....:mad::mad: Time for a lie down!!!!
-
Blokes who wear those cut-off trousers below the knee...if it's warm enough to not wear trousers, wear bloody shorts! People who have tatoos and body piercings Daily Mail Two blokes kissing on East Enders, it's bloody wrong, should only be allowed after the watershed TV programmes that spend half the time telling you what's coming up! TV interviewers who ask a question then don't allow the interviewee to answer it as they keep interrupting People who use the drive-in KFC or McD round the corner and then dump their rubbish in the road People who complain at women going to football matches (Stu ) People The 40mph speed limit on the Bmth Spur Road I think I've finished

I think Lampard has done that in recent times under Capello. He got a lot of praise after the Croatia away game for playing a more reserved role. I think intelligence is the correct word. Gerrard is not the brightest spark which is why he could never be relied upon alongside Lampard. On another point, people often say you need 5 or 6 world class players in your team if you want to win the World Cup. How about: Ferdinand Terry Cole Lampard Gerrard Rooney The only question is, can they all stay fit?
-
I tend to agree but we have been hit badly in this area with both Barry and Hargreaves out injured. Remember Milner has been playing CM all season since Barry left Villa so it would only be a matter of asking him to drop back a bit deeper. Good article on the subject here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/may/20/england-fabio-capello-world-cup
-
Agreed, but not in CM. Gerrard has been playing on the left with license to drift inside to link up with Rooney, similar to AL for us. I have always been a great believer in having a holding midfielder and I think we have done so well under Capello because Barry has fulfilled that role so well.
-
Lampard and Gerrard together in CM? I think we've been there before. We must have someone disciplined enough to sit in the holding role. I know it's not Milner's natural position but I think he is one of those players who is prepared to do a job for the team wherever he is asked to play.
-
As the concerns over Barry's fitness remain what do you think about James Milner in the centre midfield holding role? I've been massively impressed by him over recent seasons. He seems an intelligent player so I think would have the self-discipline to sit there and keep the shape. I think he could be a revelation there.
-
Perhaps doddisalegend is a woman and is making that assumption (that they do) that NC & AP cannot multi-task because they're men.
-
Agreed. Added to the fact that all this paper talk speculation could in fact be complete ******.
-
How about having one excellent and one capable? I'm playing devil's advocate of course
-
Surprising, wouldn't have thought we needed another LB.
