  1. I'm a raving homosexual and I just love it!
  2. Some great tips there, thanks guys. I have read the Tony Adams book and agree it is a good read.
  3. Thanks guys. The best football book I've ever read was not a biography but a detailed account of Italia '90, 'All Played' Out by Pete Davies.
  4. I'm off on holiday in a couple of weeks time and although I'm not a great one for reading I do like to read a sports biography or two when I'm away. Are there any you would recommend, interested sports would be Football (of course), Cricket, Golf & Rugby. I have read the MLT and Strachan autobiograhies. Doesn't have to be a biography.
  5. ...for the Leeds game. He's bang in form at the moment, carrying on where he left off last season. When fit he's a class act. Three goals in three halves so far in pre-season. It's good to see so much competition for places throughout the squad, we seem to be able to put out two decent teams.
  6. Shame we're not playing MK Dons this season then.
  7. Big, strong girl your missus is she?
  8. Interestingly, this is the reason why I am not interested in buying a season ticket. I much prefer to sit in different parts of the stadium.
  9. Agreed, but it would be nice if Mike could give us all some sort of update. It's not long to the first game of the season.
  10. He's a massive Saints fan. A mate of mine knows him through Josh McQuoid and told me how he couldn't believe how excited Vokes was about Saints playing at Wembley in the JPT.
  11. Operations Manager for an Electronics company.
  12. I noticed how he didn'y have a nickname, clearly doesn't like being called Robert or Butthead.
  13. Just fell out the tree!
  14. Danny Alexander made his speech on June 17th, two days AFTER the one day strike was announced by the unions. So the unions announce a strike in the middle of talks with the government, is that how to negotiate? 'All we see from this government is cuts after cuts, affecting everyones lifes, apart from the super rich of course. Things are only going to get worse while this bunch of clowns stay in power.' I think you'll find that Labour were planning on a similar scale of cuts.
  15. But what would you do about the fundamental problem of funding pensions for people with an ever increasing life expectancy? The extra money has to come from somewhere. Your taking a hit now but much of the private sector pensions have been taking a hit for years. It looks far worse for the public sector now because it should have been dealt with years ago.
  16. Isn't that true of most musicians? And before anyone asks, yes I used to be in a band years ago. Had some good days but my overriding memories were of how pretentious most of the othere musicians around me were. All the anti U2 and Coldplay stuff makes me smile, people get so aggressive over what is basically peoples own personal taste. Music is a very personal, initimate thing between you the listener and the music/artist. I couldn't give a stuff whether anyone else likes what I'm listening to. I am a U2 fan (using the term loosely) by the way. Yes, I find Bono pretentious and cringeworthy especially when watching live performances but I love much of their music. With the exeception of Pop I've always found 3 or 4 songs on each album that I thoroughly enjoy. Coldplay on the other hand do nothing for me, I've nothing against them but their music just does not do it for me.
  17. I wouldn't like it one bit. But then again the reason those figures (if true) are so scary is because the previous government did not face up to this issue and deal with it but left it for the Coalition. We've heard about the Pension time bomb for years, the true projected value of my pension has been falling year after year and so I've had to ensure I've put extra money away. I'm lucky that I've been able to. You blame this government when you should really be blaming the previous one for not dealing with the issue earlier. And as for revolution "I don't buy into the argument that we can't afford it - we can." well even Labour acknowledge the problem, remember who wrote the initial report, Hutton, a Labour man. 3rd and final post on this, please continue the debate without me.
  18. Childcare is luckily not a problem for next Thursday. If it was then I would take the day off work. I'm annoyed because my daughter has end of year exams scheduled for that day which will now have to be rearranged. The whole exam process has been a shambles at her school, little or no information for parents, no science exams then they are back on. After her first year at secondary school I can't help thinking that the school and it's teachers are not as great as they think they are. The plain fact is people are living longer and this has to be paid for. Working in the private sector I know that means I will have to work longer and save more for my retirement. I don't like it but there is bugger all I can do about it.
  19. Just had a letter from my daughters school informing us that due to industrial action being taken by some teachers the school will be closed on Thursday. I wonder if the cost of sending out 1000 letters will be deducted from their wages. If they don't want to contribute more to their pensions perhaps they should have NHS care withdrawn past a certain age.
  20. Fair play to you, I hope my daughter grows up with the same attitude. Wife and I were in restaurant once with another couple. They bill came and the women pulled out their respective credit cards, our friends remarked on our credit card and asked what the interest rate was. The wife and I looked at each other blanky and I said we havent got a clue, we never pay interest as it is always paid up at the end of the month. As far as I am concerned a credit card is for convenience only.
  21. From what I heard on the radio this morning, the sale of these banks would raise £4bn. Surely that money would be best spent reducing the national debt, that is effectively where it came from.
  22. Can't tell where you are looking, at the pitch or at her arse?
  23. Absolutely agree. This image with the text 'Forever a Saint'.
  24. Just seen Clotterill in my local Sainsburys. He was on the phone so I tried listening in but he walked away. Looks like he still lives over Bournemouth way.
  25. Going Friday on hospitality but it's looking like a washout.
