  1. Don't forget there's a group on here who can't understand why Billy Sharp isn't still in the first team.
  2. I'm still waiting for Toto on the Whistle Test
  3. I think it's really brilliant that we can have three separate Liverpool build-up threads all running on the main board at the same time.
  4. Exactly, I see this as the overperformers vs. the underperformers. Unpredictable but probably the best game of the season for us so far. Live on the box down here too.
  5. Sensible move IMO, the young lad Bird is only 25, and exposing him to the seething pressure cooker at Fratton Park too early could irreparably damage his future career. Either that or he's crap.
  6. I think Wales have already done that. And Scotland. For those casting aspersions towards Mr. Blatter and his board, there were massive overriding administrative reasons why they HAD to award two World Cups this time round, for the first time ever. It was absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the imminent retirement of Mr. Blatter. And, just for the record, the last World Cup was held in the winter, and the next one will be too.
  7. "Your boardroom chairs are worth more than your team" There must be a song in there somewhere surely.
  8. I had a similar problem with DABS last week. Shame really, I've bought loads and loads of computer kit off them over the past 10 years or more, but won't use them again now. I won't bore you with the details, but my issue isn't that they had a problem handling my order (we all have problems at some time or other), but that the gobby little northern tart on the customer service line was hell bent on blaming me for their problem.
  9. Righto, that was the main reason I plumped for the Sony with the built-in flash memory card slot rather than the Google Nexus. The flash card is in my laptop right now, copying the entire content of my I-tunes for use on the tab (copyright permitting of course).
  10. I use ES File Explorer to access the usb network storage drive attached to the router from all the android devices
  11. The awesome power of the plain brown envelope in all it's glory.
  12. It would be an interesting exercise to re-calculate the results of all the Westminster elections in the last 50 years without any Scottish MPs.
  13. I picked up the Xperia when I was over in the UK last week. 32Gb WiFi model with a 64Gb flash card. So far so good but I haven't really had the chance to check it out properly. I am very impressed with the remote control app. I installed the Overplay VPN onto my router last night, so I now have access to streaming UK content on all our devices at home, including iPlayer and catchup and all that stuff. Early days, but so far I'm impressed.
  14. We could certainly save the treasury an absolute fortune in CCTV surveillance if we all wore one, couldn't we?
  15. A bit OT I know, but I just got home with my new Xperia Z tab today. The programmable IR remote app is a bloody marvel. I've just spent the last hour switching everything in the house on and off. Worth every penny for that alone.
  16. I used to collect for them back in 72/3. Decent pocket money. When I lived near Aylesbury 30 years ago, my next-door neighbour played for Luton, but I can't remember his name. And when I lived just outside Hemel Hempstead 20 years ago, my next door neighbour was Paul Wilson, ex-Celtic player with a Scotland cap.
  17. My guess is that this has come out because their sphincters are starting to get twitchy. There is no way they're using parachute payments to service these debts, apart for the £1½ million in lump sums they paid out at the end of last month. You don't sign an agreement to pay 40 monthly instalments if you're going to pay it all off in 6 months. Nope, they've used most of the August payment to pay off the short-term debt they borrowed to buy the club, and the very last and final payment to come in February is being used to subsidise the running costs this season. If they're still rattling around at the arse end of the 4th Division next season, with ST income of around £2 million and other gate income of around £750k then those legacy debts will consume more than half of their income. It was a suicidal decision not to use the parachute payments to pay the players, and probably explains why the PFA took a charge over Fratton Park - they don't believe the players will get their money. The figures have been released as a bit of "it weren't our fault, we done our best" insurance.
  18. The head to head between Lambert and Carroll next Sunday has taken on a tasty new significance, with two more qualifiers coming up. Anybody got a spare ticket for Woy?
  19. Thanks for all your comments. I'm gonna go for the Xperia, purely because of the memory card slot. I'll let you know if it turns out to be crap.
  20. Don't see that as a problem Phil. I don't think anybody really thinks Rickie should be an automatic starter for England, but a great option off the bench. If he came off the bench to score against WH it might actually improve his chances of a longer run in the squad.
  21. ...or move to Africa, and the Utility Company will defrost your freezer for you every couple of months free of charge. I've already lost the contents once this year (and we've got 2 freezers!).
  22. Why should the club have to re-invent it's systems to prevent the cheats from cheating. As you said earlier, tickets are not transferable, and neither are any rights that accrue to that ticket i.e. You can't use your ST to buy an away ticket for somebody else. Its rule number 1 on the first item that pops up if you google for season ticket t's & c's.
  23. I've moved my entire household in containers around the world a couple of times in the past few years. You need a full priced inventory for waybills import/export taxes, insurance, etc. Sit down and work out how much it would cost you to buy every item of clothing in all the wardrobes and drawers in your house, brand new, today. There are 4 adults in my house, and I reckon our clothes, including shoes etc, would be way over half your total contents. Your insurance company won't argue with you, they will just pay you out 20% of your claim.
  24. I don't know you, obviously, but 50 grand sounds as if you're woefully underinsured. I suggest you do an inventory, it's a bit of an eye-opener.
