We live in strange times. -
It’s tough being a travelling photocopier consumables salesman in the age of Covid so if this helps him through the day then let him have his fun.

Yeah, Kane’s prep talks are embarrassing. We had better pre match talks in my school hockey team.
-
It is probably very hard to prove “right”, that’s really not the point. The point is that you’d have to be mental and an embarrassment to be associated with if you believed that the 120 countries were part of a Bill Gates eugenics / money-making conspiracy.

Brazil, Chile, France, Russia. Quality anthems. Ours is BORING.
-
I think you meant Russ Abbot.
-
Agreed. Notwithstanding the medieval lyrics, musically it is dismal.

Looks like the EU was ahead of us in the Yank queue after all.

You're correct in the sense that we don't want a Vincent Tan type. An interfering owner without the competencies to interfere appropriately is not good. But it would be nice to have an owner with a vision that extends past, "I needed to get some cash out of China". And whilst I don't demand an owner that will throw lots of money at us out of their own pocket (although that's clearly the only real way to achieve any long term success in European football if you don't already have a global brand or a dominant financial position in your domestic league), absent a lot of money or a decent strategy then it's likely that relegation will come at some point. -
The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Well, they've demonstrated enormous vision and originality with their name so let's hope they can bring some of their spunk to Saints. -
1. Funny 2. Depends on the black guy 3. Depends whether they live in a dump and wear clothes that are too baggy or not 4. Depends on the black guy 5. This is getting boring Like most things, it’s not really about race but social environment. Let’s say Carlton from the Fresh Prince went about calling people niggers. That’s clearly affected and probably offensive because he’s a privileged guy who wouldn’t normally mix in circles where people use the word. However, I can well imagine a white guy who grows up in a poor part of Atlanta regularly calls black people nigger because that’s how they talk round there. It’s like if Rees-Mogg turned up in Milbrook and started calling people “mush”, it would obviously be a piss take.

We don't need a clogger, we need a ball player to help sort out our home form.

There's a Stanhope clip for most of the threads in the Lounge.
-
Probably better on the Brexit thread....
-
No way! I need to check that out. Stanhope is awesome.

An acceptable context would be karaoke. If I'm busting out "Straight outta Compton" in da club then I'm a spit lyrics straight up, bitch, no radio edit.

I don't know him. I think, maybe I met him once. Or he met me. Probably he met me... you know he says I'm tremendous. He likes me very much. So probably he met me maybe once. And we're doing really good, great things. People are saying it's great, what you're doing. It's good. But I don't know him.

The daily death numbers globally seem to be increasing. The highest daily number of deaths was in May but, having dipped slightly, seems to be heading up again. I don't really have a point to make, other than an observation that I think the timescales we're dealing with here may be longer than people think.
-
So doing business with a manifestly disingenuous company with no prior history from a country with no respect for anyone else is a bad idea?
-
Globally the rate of increase of cases is as high as it’s ever been. The curve is getting steeper, not flattening. There will be an uptick again in the UK, as there will be in most countries. Until most of us have had a vaccine this shite will carry on.
