  1. Fitness levels are much more impressive lately. Shows what a difference it can make if you maximise basic things as and suggests that Hughes and his staff couldn't really be arsed to train properly. I've never seen JWP look so strong after 90 minutes, and that's with Wednesday's match just behind him as well.
  2. Stephens is awful in a back 4 and so is Vestergaard. We should play the 3421 that's worked well for us with Armstrong and Redmond behind Ings.
  3. - Alright, Wes here. I need a price for 28m 4x2, 300 tungsten-tipped screws (16mm) and a bag of sand (British). - Hi Wes. OK... ... der... let me see... plus that... and the sand.... that'll be £39.95. - I'll walk away, so help me. Just try me, pal. - I can call it £36 - Done. It's exactly like Brexit.
  4. Which EU policies stifle competition from smaller rivals? Genuine question.
  5. Thought I'd help out Lezzer by paraphrasing in more sober language. In the interests of balance. Think of it like a golf handicap
  6. Stability. Bug business doesn't want disruption. Disruption is the playingfield of challengers. Disruption is a threat to big business. Even the strongest advocate of no deal would, I think, acknowledge that no deal is more disruptive than a deal which reconstitutes membership as far as possible. If they don't, then they're a loony and not worth worrying about. Big business favours stability, that's a bland truism. Why would you take a political risk when you're doing fine as a corporate CEO? There are a few outliers, like the Wetherspoon chap, but clearly the vast majority of big business leaders would not have wanted the referendum in the first place. People have broader concerns than big business leaders.

    Indeed. It's all done.
  8. Clueless.

  10. He's a Forest fan but has lots of connections to Saints so supports us too. Sounds like it was someone else last night.
  11. Oh, my mistake. He's the Moroccan Norwegian Emmanuel Mayuka.
  12. Agreed. When she first won the leadership I think it was widely quoted that she was a "bloody difficult woman". Seems pretty accurate.
  13. Didn't see that. Big guy with dark hair and a beard?
  14. "good faith" extremely nebulous and parliament can't bind a successor. We could revoke then reissue. I'm not for one minute suggesting we will or should do that, mind. My point is that we have more control over timing than people want to admit. Re ruling out no deal, what would the legislation say? The only way to rule it out is to revoke Art. 50 or do a deal. Legislation that says, "we won't leave without a deal" is inconsistent with the treaty rules around leaving.
  15. He's the Egyptian Norwegian Emmanuel Mayuka.

  17. He plays like he's a fast winger, but he doesn't have pace so he just gets tackled. Compare him to Tadic who knew he couldn't just run past people so always protected the ball and looked to unbalance defenders. He's got some ability on the ball but not productive at all. Our first half formation didn't do him much favours either, as he was playing fairly deep. Overall, a massive disappointment so far.
  18. JWP over Armstrong? Noooo waaay, mon.
  19. Indeed. The only way to rule out no deal is to do a deal or revoke Article 50, which would, I presume, need an act of parliament. Feck knows whether parliament would pass that but it's disingenuous or ignorant to pretend she can just unilaterally "rule out" no deal. Even if parliament indicated a majority against leaving with no deal, without revoking Art 50 we will leave with no deal if we don't do a deal. We can unilaterally extend the time though, for practical purposes. European Court has already confirmed we can unilaterally revoke Art 50 so we could just do that then serve another Art 50 notice. Again, though, would there need to be a parliamentary vote to do that?

    Fact. I think.
  21. On the plus side, Gallagher and Johnson looked decent enough, especially as I don't think j Johnson is usually a wing back. I'd rather have Gallagher up front in a home league match than Long. Stephens can't defend crosses. He just thought he'd remind anyone who might have forgotten. Elyonnousi is gash. Collectively, far too sloppy at important moments, as usual. Hopefully the new right back is good and we can also add another decent player to give us a bit more quality.
  22. See title.
  23. I agree that was definitely his last appearance. In fact I am starting a thread.
  24. No chance. He's absolute quality. If there's any sniff of him leaving we'll get outbid.
  25. I'm generally in favour of VAR but the inconsistent and unfair way it is being rolled out is just absurd.
