    Dušan Tadić

    Hopefully Yoshida isn't leaving though!
  2. Players I expect to leave: Cedric (entering last year of 4 year deal) Pied (contract expiring, won't be renewed) Boufal (considered to be a bellend; loan to French club) Gabbiadini (back to Italy although would like to keep if he's keen to stay) Plus those who have been out on loan like: Clasie (perm to Holland) Gardos (perm to somewhere in Europe or the Championship) Reed (perm to Championship club) Gallagher (perm to Championship club) Then there are the following players who I think we would happily sell if we got a decent offer, although they might be hard to move on: Forster (overpaid) Austin (often injured, although I doubt we would sell him, Long and Carillo in the same window) Carillo (considered rubbish but we might have to loan him out and pay some of his wages) Long (doesn't score enough and value will only go down, although I would keep him) Davis (surplus to requirements but not sure if he would want to move) Targett (maybe viewed as PL capable but if Bertrand stays then I think we would look to take the money after his decent spell at Fulham) Of the above, I would want to keep Long and Gabbi but I suspect we may end up with some of the ones on the last list still being here too. In terms of additions, we would need: GK if Forster goes to challenge McCarthy Starting RB As backup RB I would use Stephens First choice CB Upgrade on Redmond / Boufal if possible Striker In an ideal world, that leaves: McCarthy **NEW** **NEW** Stephens Bertrand McQueen **NEW** Hoedt Bednarek Yoshida Romeu Hojbjerg Lemina JWP **NEW** Tadic Redmond Sims **NEW** Long / Austin Gabbi (plus Gallagher if no sizeable offers made) Then a few youth as additional backup. If the "news" are good quality and we have a manager in place that the players can get behind then there's no reason not to target "best of the rest". Of course, we have no idea what our appetite to spend will be. It will probably depend on how many of the "might leaves" we can shift.
  3. He wasn't in the game at all. I was surprised Long didn't come on at half time.
  4. Most looked it.
  5. We were much more sophisticated than "sitting deep in numbers" today. We pressed when we could but transitioned quickly to getting behind the ball if the first press failed. The three at the back does suit our centre backs better than a back 4 but, either way, we need a leader in there and we miss Lemina's physicality in midfield when he's out.
  6. Hardly. We were luck it was only 3 with the amount of time wasting we were doing.
  7. Looked to be a pre-meditated act by a group of chavs in the Itchen, followed by varying degrees of simpleton from other sections.
  8. Burnley will struggle next season. They're ****e and have Europa too.
  9. My thoughts exactly. Very poor discipline and a simple goal conceded.
  10. Shane Long would probably get her in the eye.
  11. You'd stir eleven porridges?
  12. Outrageous. If he ever sets foot in Southampton again I'll chase him up Thomas Lewis Way myself.
  13. May loving Jesus almighty bless your great humour. Most welcome guest
  14. Bet they done oral as well.
  15. They were dog ****e with Pulis for over a season, have a squad full of aging has-beens and are an example of the pernicious trend of foreign-owned clubs. **** them.
  16. We'd still be looking for a hotel.
  17. Yeah, don't let last night's relative heroics gloss over the **** storm in the upper echelons of the club. We need some proper leadership.
  18. I think Oliver is the best. Doesn't seem to be an "ego" ref like Mike Dean (or Clattenberg) and is fitter and more consistent than the duffers like Moss and Marriner.
  19. He's no Nigel Adkins but he's done very well.
  20. Really? If we had any mettle as a fan base it would be a protest, not a party.
  21. Skates only didn't go up because there were at least six teams better than them.
  22. I wasn't thinking of that one. Actually, we got stitched up in that game. He have us one ridiculous penalty but he turned down a couple of blatant ones earlier in the match. That Brighton team was a horrible, cynical team.
  23. I bet he's on a fair whack. Monaco players don't pay tax so you've got to add about 40% on their salary when signing them for them to just break even. A sobering thought is that the average Championship wage is probably less than £10k a week and we've got Targett and Stephens on 4 times that.
  24. Wasn't the Leeds game Peter Walton? Or we might be thinking of different games. I remember a game against Leeds which we won and I left thinking it was the worst refereeing display I'd ever seen.
  25. The Stephens thing was a clear red card and also good news for us.
