1. "Let's Gao ****ing mental" car sticker
2. I was a little disappointed with the first episode but that last half an hour of TV was quite staggering. I just saw a member of the GA House of Representatives whip his arse out and try to touch a man with it to turn him gay, scream the "n" word, do a terrible, racist impersonation of a Chinese man by saying Japanese words and Vietnamese place-names & take an upskirt photo...because he thought it would be a useful anti-ISIS strategy. And those ****s in that redneck ****-hole. **** me.
3. Long to Celtic then? I'd happily take Welbeck if he's fit. Mobile and stretches defences. Can play across the line. Can't see us signing someone better.
4. He's capable of playing well but he makes lots of very poor errors. He's miles below the level you need if you want to be a decent top half team.
5. Agree with that. Newcastle to implode.
6. Just a rehash of previous stories with a tenuous link.
7. We Wish to Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed With Our Families, by Philip Gourevitch. It's an excellent piece of writing. Just came inside to make a drink and do a couple of errands. Back in the garden now. My Oriental lillies have bloomed. Lovely stuff.
8. How has Elyounoussie looked?
9. I do worry if Hughes is too wedded to this system. Needs must and, fair play, he got us over the line - just - last season. Stoke were a disorganised mess when we played them when they were under him, though.
10. Interesting to see how that midfield two does. Bit experimental to go with Lemina and Armstrong.
11. Read a book or something. Seriously!
12. Send him some pictures of skates, aye?
13. Who the hell pays to watch a preseason match online?
14. I'm not sure there is a huge amount of "tactics" on the EU side. They have rules and principles and they apply them. You can't carry consensus of 27 countries by playing tactics, you have to follow rules. Sometimes they couch statements in language that might have a political or tactical slant but their main positions are rules-driven.
15. Will be wages rather than fee which is the problem.
16. I think the point is that no one wants a hard border there. The EU's solution is for a border in the Irish Sea. We have rejected that. So we could just say, "it's your problem Rep. Ireland / EU". However that makes a withdrawal agreement extremely unlikely.
17. Complaining loads might "work", sure; however, you said they had a legal obligation to sell the shirt at the advertised price, which is simply not true.
18. I guess it depends whether you attach more weight to a quote from a single member state politician or to a paper setting out the considered opinion of the European Commission. It would seem odd if the Irish PM could guarantee something specifically flagged as being a concern in a paper issued the same day. Where are these Leo Varadkar quotes?
19. Well, the link I just posted, which is an official EU paper released today, does not say that at all.
20. EU has released a paper today https://ec.europa.eu/info/sites/info/files/communication-preparing-withdrawal-brexit-preparedness.pdf Main consequences of UK leaving the EU without a Withdrawal Agreement include (see page numbered 5):

Border issues: The European Union must apply its regulation and tariffs at borders with the United Kingdom as a third country, including checks and controls for customs, sanitary and phytosanitary standards and verification of compliance with EU norms. Transport between the United Kingdom and the European Union would be severely impacted. Customs, sanitary and phytosanitary controls at borders could cause significant delays, e.g. in road transport, and difficulties for ports.

21. I can confirm that the "possible toaster" is almost certainly a toaster.
