Was due to come to London on a business trip tomorrow. I've cancelled it now. I'm pleased, cos I didn't want to come anyway. But hope everyone doesn't die of Omnicron.
  6. As soon as it hit Arnold’s arm, I thought, “Definite goal coming here!”.

Piece of piss, then. Surprised someone else hasn't thought of it.
  9. Yep, 5 points is OK from those 5. 6 is good. 7 points or more would be excellent and probably represent an overachievement.

Why would a business with no capital, a huge debt and disinterested shareholders want to buy a shitty scrap of land?

No, he's been largely ineffective. We lined up at the weekend with no creative players in our team, apart from maybe the full backs. He is no use at PL level. I'd sooner have Lee Holmes or Guly. No joke.
  12. Absolute mess from Ralph, this. Walcott - waste of space. Armstrong left wing- waste of time. Lyanco on when Perraud should have been on - silly. Taking the best player on the pitch, Romeu, off - silly.
  13. He works hard and is very neat but he simply isn't up to hurting teams in the PL. He can't beat anyone, he can't make space like, say, a Tadic and he can't get shots away quick enough. Having him and Diallo on the wings leaves us a bit toothless. Need to get Tella or Broja on instead.
  14. Animal porn?! FFS, man.

I doubt we would buy anyone anyway in Jan, and next summer we'll sell one of Salisu, JWP or Tino for 50m+ and get Forster off the books. Does Long's contract expire then as well? Seems OK, although it's not helpful having piss poor income relative to other PL teams, obviously.
  16. I still don’t understand the opening post.

I feel like a lot of the American owners don't really "get it" plus their business culture is much more in the mindset of leveraging and extracting maximum value than certain other cultures. Whilst any other owner obviously wants some financial return or other benefit from owning the club as well, I tend to favour a European over an American. Chinese is generally a bad idea due to their political exposure. Obviously that's a big generalisation and there are plenty of undesirable European characters too. Maybe we should go African - proper sub-Saharan. Give Dangote a ring? Surely there's a big market for an African owned PL club?

  22. We play at a much better tempo without the Danish Beckenbauer taking an age to calibrate his sights. Obviously Salisu is a much better defender but also we get the ball through the midfield and into our “between the lines” players much better this season. Romeu and JWP benefit from receiving and moving the ball quicker without the opposition having an age to get into shape. If we had “number 10s” that scored goals we’d be a very good team.
  23. I thought he played very well today. He didn’t miss a “sitter”. He missed a decent but not straightforward chance but also fashioned a number of good efforts which were narrow misses and on another day could have scored 3. He also put one on a plate for Adams, who did miss a sitter! He looked after the ball well and got into good positions. He’s a decent player and one thing we have now is genuine competition up front, which is great. Hopefully, moany, clueless twats don’t get on his back.
