I would take him for £2m or less but otherwise it would be a big gamble IMO. What if we don't go up? We'll sell him for a profit or something. Terrible.

I haven't read the Act but if it has been drafted by the current government then I expect it is massively widely drafted with the potential to catch a whole load of things it shouldn't catch, with the potential to impose serious consequences upon a whole load of things it shouldn't be imposing serious consequences on. That's what they have done with most of the other important legislation. It will then be released along with some vague promise of guidance as to how it will be enforced by the authorities.

How about a "best local tanning shop" and a "best local hairdressers" section too?
-
Exactly. If you wrote that on the side of Westminster, however..... You would be a very naughty boy who is a vandal and criminal and everyone, including me, would deplore your actions.

Working Families Tax Credit / Child Benefit.

Well I suppose she will be one of tomorrow's business leaders, employing thousands and contributing to the Treasury's coffers in an almighty way. Or not. -

Anything which is aimed at financially incentivising "families" is silly IMO. The average cost of a wedding is something like £20k. You can't apply the drone-rationality of economics to something as complicated, as supra-economical, as human, as whether or not family units will exist and remain strong. Targetted help to ensure kids are kept out of poverty is fine but it should be in the form of children's clothes vouchers, food vouchers and heating allowances etc... -
Back to the issue around "point scoring"... I don't think anyone objects to parties highlighting the weaknesses, or perceived weaknesses at least, of the other parties' policies. What I, and I think many others can't stand though, is when they begin the answer to a simple question by spouting off about another party. EG - Gordon, will you rule out a VAT rise? - What I can say is that the Tories put VAT up in the 80s... etc..

"Look, this is better than that ****ing grin. No?"

Can't believe anyone thinks Schneiderlin has had a better season than Lallana. We might miss him more when he doesn't play but that's down to the inadequacy of our replacements. Lallana has played better more consistently.

LMFAO - the ****ing ignorance of that post! Not knowing what "normal" means or appreciating that it will be culturally relative (although actually espousing a correct premise in a round-about way but getting the conclusion messed up). In ancient Greece, men knew what words meant.

I imagine VFTT must be pretty close to a ban...

No one should have to pay inheritance tax. No one at all, ever IMO. It's just a callous money grab and is quite distasteful. Not surprising it's quite popular with the lefties.

lol. Couldn't have happened to a more anal pedant.

Corpy, me ol' mucker, me ol' ****er, mushty. You seem to be suggesting above that Gaydamak is owed his £30m as a result of some sort of land deal. I don't think that is right. I think he is owed the £30m due to loans put into the club during his ownership and also as indemnity for paying off Barclays (a guarantor is legally entitled to an indemnity from a prime debtor). I was under the impression that he acquired the land around Krap Hole from Mandaric some time ago and that legally it is entirely distinct from PFC and not related to any debts. My understanding is that he is owed £30m by PFC and that he owns a load of surrounding land; the two things are not connected at all legally. They are only connected pragmatically in as much as Gaydamak can stymie redevelopment of Krap Hole unless someone can come to a deal with him. The less he gets for his £30m debt, the more he is going to want for the land. Now, I may be wrong, as with everything Skate-related, there is a murky cloud over the whole thing but I would be interested to hear why you think the debt and the land are related.

Why do you say Clegg had no substance? His proposals are more detailed than anyone else's.
-
Why? Why on earth should you get state money for popping a sprog?

For people who don't need them. Quite right too.

I don't deny that the Tory campaign has been disappointing but I find the childish glee of indoctrinated political weirdos pathetic and demoralising.
-
Cameron's strongest performance yet IMO. Not sure why everyone thought Clegg was far behind this time - he performed well again IMO. Brown came across as a complete weirdo.

What a sad, bitter, hate-filled, self-loathing, ugly little post.

I would argue that a drawn cup match is a qualitatively different thing from a drawn league match.

I know, it's tragic how many Labour voters will blindly adhere to their mantras rather than embrace what is evidently a better alternative.

One thing this has demonstrated is that if you want to play in Europe you need to pay your tax
