  1. Does this mean the German money isn't coming after all? Nice try pretending you're the magnanimous one and not a complete ****, by the way.
  2. Completely agree. Papa Waigo is clearly much better than League One standard. Pardew's reluctance to include him in the starting 11 is beginning to annoy me.
  3. I copied it from Clapham Saint but thanks anyway!
  4. is the bedrock of a civilised society.
  5. Hope you don't mind me joining in!
  6. Does anyone still think the Football League were in any way remotely out of order to us? If so, how?
  7. Who?
  8. It basically signals that HMRC have got bored of chasing for late payments. Will it culminate in winding-up? Probably not as the sums owed seem fairly modest. However, if Pompey can't offer anything by way of repayment then I wouldn't expect HMRC to withdraw the petition.
  9. This is true and may have an impact with regards to further points penalties. Not sure what proportion of the debt is owed to HMRC.
  10. Will be funny if he's promising Arab money again.
  11. That's not correct. HMRC have no preference over other unsecured creditors.
  12. Pretty sure they still could but I don't see how that would be of any benefit to them.
  13. Obviously refusing to extend unarranged borrowing facilities had the effect of making the club unable to meet its liabilities as they fell due - "insolvent". However, it is fact, not argument, that it was the board of SLH PLC that put us into administration. It doesn't matter and I say purely factually not normatively, but there is no argument to be had; it's a fact.
  14. No, the board of SLH PLC did.
  15. Yes, that's wrong. They can still come to an agreement to settle the outstanding debt. I suspect this is what will happen. The significance of this petition is what effect it will have on other creditors (if any). What it does do though, is force the directors to look closely at how comfortable they are with being an officer of company that is de facto insolvent and continuing to trade.
  16. HMRC have instigated winding up proceedings. That's a shame.
  17. If we're planning on staying in League One, maybe.
  18. He's quite right though. It is a rough and pugnacious place. And the life of its inhabitants...? Nasty, poor, brutish and short.

Unsurprisingly, as it's a Daily Mail article, it is heavy on moralistic claptrap but pretty low on reason and pragmatism.
  20. Is this the cat woman? I agree; this can't be explained just by being northern.

No because of your continual over-simplistic unnuanced views on virtually everything of any importance. If you hold the opinion that the death sentence is a good thing for drug smugglers then that is up to you but your original thoughts were something like, "whatever, he should've known better" which is clearly the precise question at issue here. This leads on to consideration about whether the Chinese system can be defended when it doesn't even attempt to address the question (in this case). Apologies for calling you thick; that was personal and unnecessary. Maybe it is your blunt posting style that gives that impression.
  22. Lol - that's the small-town mentality of Pompey in spades. You stink. You deserve to go pop. Bye, bye.

I don't think he is; I think he's just genuinely thick.
